If ogre's favourite juice is vinegar/ogre swill, and dwarves are good at brewing, and khalish is brewed from fruit and vegetables....

Has anyone tried "mixing a bit of both with the dragon's fruit"?

Habanero + vinegar + khalish
Habanero + ogre swill +khalish

or... if there is only a single combine in the oven

Habanero + vinegar + khalish + sea salt +cask
Habanero + vinegar + khalish + mug of sea foam +cask

I'm still unhappy about the habaneros being PoP era, but it wouldn't be the first time that a drop has been added much later than recipe that needs it (fleeting quiver springs to mind).

long shot but has anyone tried using a forge to do the combines? Seems to me i read somewhere that 'real dwaves brew thier stuff in a forge" or some such referance, attributited to foamy.

Yes, I used the Kaladim cultural forge. I think my DNC post is in this very same thread a couple pages ago.

i know this is going to sound like a lot of work but i think the site needs to ahve a list of all known ingredients and where they come from, not just forages and groiund spawns although that is a great help. as for the dragon fruit, khalish might be a good reference point and i have only seen cacti spines

If you're looking at the cactus angle then Cactus Pulp would be one item, and although we get it off an Icy Terror I've always thought of Prickly Pears as coming off a cactus.

Just picked up one of these tonight, will be working some combines soon.

Ro Dates = small fruit from south ro

side note, cactus pulp is from north ro ( would you consider it to be a vegatable or a fruit or neither? I've had cactus candy before I think. ) & is Brodder no no-ing the prickly pear only or the cactus also?

Problem with Peppers

You have two major problems with habanero peppers.

1) they are PoP (PoK and PoFire) and this recipie is Vellious.

2) they are foraged ONLY. They don't drop anywhere. No dwarf can forage, and thus would not be able to get a ready supply.

I don't know what could be used instead, but I can probably say with a fair amount of certainity that habanero peppers are NOT it.

I don't know what should be used in it's place, but it's probably not habanero peppers.

Ogre's favorite drink revisited

Ok, so we've been spittin' around that them ogres either pickle themselves with Vinegar, or that their favorite must be something named after them (Ogre Swill).
Thinking back to the Brewing Diaries, what about Skull Ale.
In the diaries, Broader did drink it, so we know it fits that criteria.
Also, it indicates that it is only made for the most special occasion.
Now, if you had a favorite drink, would it be as common a drink as Ogre Swill, or would it be that one thing you make sure to pull out for special occasions....
I see that a couple of combines have been tried:
"Ogre Swill + Fruit + Vegetable + Cask + Bag of Sea Salt
Ogre Swill + Fruit + Vegetable + Cask + Mug of Sea Foam
Ogre Swill + Fruit + Vegetable + Cask + Bag of Sea Salt + Habanero Pepper
Ogre Swill + Fruit + Vegetable + Cask + Mug of Sea Foam + Habanero Pepper"
But it may be worth exploring again a little more in depth...

ok, next idea for me... what about those crazy shrooms that grow in Kaladim... not really a veggie... not really a fruit... perhaps combining those with the possibly "fiery fruit" and the "ogre juice"
