A rarer recipe of a different sort was scale of red drake

I'm assuming it HAS to be off a red drake. The only scale I could find is the Fire drake scale dropped in Lava storm.

I'm assuming that the lava pools in Lava storm can be considered lakes. However, "by a lake" might mean a zone a way. I thought of Rathe mountains. I didn't see any red drakes there. I checked the beastiary for RM and Lake Rathetear and didn't see any red drakes mentioned at either.

Ground fine, mixed with wine.

The only way I can think of to grind the scales is with a mortar and pestle. I'm taking that line to mean that the scales have to be ground up first then mixed with some sort of wine. I tried just the scales + wines in a mixing bowl but they were DNC.

I would try these, but I am at work. I put them out as speculation, hopefully, they are helpful.

I know it was mentionned in a previous post, but I don't want us to get too caught on the Habanero Pepper.
Another item that seems plausible is the Flarefire seeds foraged in Field of Bone.
Just a thought for those not at work...

Could very well be ground garlic / spices / spitfire seeds. Keep in mind that Brodder mentions around a lake, that doesnt mean it has to specificly be an old world lake. Anyone recall any drake types in say a two zone radius around LOIO? Horseradish is a root... right? kinda spicy isnt it? Man'drake' is an alchemy component... I may be going completely in the wrong direction but.. When you've got nothing to work with, any direction is the right direction.


The line about dwarves being best to obtain this firey loot makes me think that the items mentioned until this point arent foraged, or that the first three items can be obtained on faydwer.

( I will conceed however that that completely goes against my prior paragraphs speculations )

ok this is what i have found to be true through experiments. we need VINEGAR, we do NOT need HABANERO. i have tried combing hab, fruit/veggie, vinegar, and a spoon in a mixing bowl and it DNC. tried grounding the fire drake scales with 1-5 of fish/red/white/elven/gypsy wine DNC. for whomeever mentioned the flarefire seeds they are nodrop so thats not it. i've checked through all the forage/ground spawn items and couldn't find anything clsoe to being hot. the line where he mentions the many bottles ithink is saying it will produce more then one on a return. right now i'm at a loss for whatelse to try

Killed or harvested sounds like both mobdrop and forage/ground spawn.

Maybe reaching but fire dragon crystal out of skyfire = foraged. Big lake of lava in skyfire.

I could only get ahold of 2 of the fire dragon crystals. Didn't see any red drakes around in Sky Fire, only the ashen ones. I tried:
1-2 crystals with 1-2 fish, white, red, gypsy, elven, winter falls wines in a mortar and pestle = DNC

I also tried it with a loose scale (/shrug it's red graphic). I tried
1-3 loose scales + 1-2 fish, white, red, gypsy, elven & winter falls wine in mortar & pestle = DNC

Are items like Faydwer Porter considered to be wines?

Maybe the wine we should use is a sub-combine. Like Faydwer Shaker or one of the Porters...

Had a thought today: Lavapear from Lavastorm. Went and got one of those and did every combination one could think of with:

Lavapear/habanero (tho I really don't think that's what'll be used)
ogre swill/vinegar/bog juice
fruits and veggies/dwarven ale/underfoot mushroom/dark fungus (or whatever that other one is called that's a ground spawn in kaladim)
Mug of seafoam/bag of sea salt.
Cask

Tried each in mixing bowl, with or without spoon (when it would fit in the bowl with other ingredients). Also in oven with and without spoon. Then because I was frustrated, I tried it in the brew barrel, with and without spoon.

All combines were DNC
