yes, i tried a few permutations in a mixing bowl with no luck. then i tried em in an oven. then in a brew barrel. then i banked everything in disgust =p was focusing on habanero peppers, though, which are certainly not velious era.

how bout a hint, like... maybe a city (heck, how bout a continent?) to narrow down inhabitants to chat with? i enjoy chatting with the locals for a while, but eventually i get tired of trying to find exactly the right key phrases.

tabasco sauce is made from distilled vinegar, red pepper and salt.

like ndaara, i've tried hundreds of combinations in the past in brewing barrels, mixing bowls, mortar & pestle, spit, oven you name it. tonight's brief round:

          In mixing bowl DNC:

          1 habanero pepper + 1 water flask
          2 habanero pepper + 1 water flask
          2 habanero pepper + 2 water flask
          3 habanero pepper + 1 water flask

          1 habanero pepper + bottle
          1 habanero pepper + 1 water flask + bottle
          1 habanero pepper + 2 water flask + bottle
          2 habanero pepper + bottle
          2 habanero pepper + 1 water flask + bottle
          3 habanero pepper + bottle

          1 habanero pepper + vinegar
1 habanero pepper + vinegar + water flask
          1 habanero pepper + vinegar + bottle
          1 habanero pepper + vinegar + 2 water flasks
1 habanero pepper + vinegar + water flask + bottle

          1 habanero pepper + vinegar + bottle
1 habanero pepper + vinegar + bottle + mt death mineral salt
1 habanero pepper + vinegar + mt death mineral salt
1 habanero pepper + vinegar + celestial essence + mt death mineral salt

          vinegar + celestial essence
          2 vinegars + celestial essence

1 habanero pepper + celestial essence
1 habanero pepper + celestial essence + bottle
1 habanero pepper + celestial essence + vinegar
1 habanero pepper + celestial essence + vinegar + bottle

a little clue would be splendid...
i cant think of other peppers or any other similar ingredient, though i couldnt get my hands on a bag of sea salt.

Despite the fact that Brodder posted in the baking forum, you may wish to try a brew barrel. Tabasco sauce is technically fermented in a barrel, not cooked.

Then again, I could be way off base.

Backing up the previous poster, I found this tidbit:

              Tabasco pepper; Tabasco Sauce
              [tuh-BAS-koh]
A very hot, small red pepper originally from the Mexican state of Tabasco. The word itself means "damp earth." Though these peppers are now grown in parts of Louisiana, they're not widely commercially available. Instead, they're used specifically to make Tabasco Sauce, a trademarked name held by the McIlhenny family since the mid-1800s. Produced since Civil War times, this fiery sauce is made from tabasco peppers, vinegar and salt. The peppers are fermented in barrels for 3 years before being processed into the sauce.

I've tried tons of combos in brew barrels and I always walk away with nothing. Velious would indicate that the habanero pepper isnt used but **** if i can find anything that seems like a likely replacement for it. Still though, it seems that Brodder probably had a reason for coming to the baking forum, even if its just that he wants bakers to discover a possible subcombine for this purpose.

What about Flame of Vox, or Flame of Ro, or possible Firewater?

Wasn't Ice of Velious used in the Frothy Frostbite?

Firewater sounds interesting. Brodder keeps mentioning gnomes. Will give it a shot.

Having looked at this thread, and being a big fan of Tobasco Sauce myself (can't be beat on day old pizza ), has any tried using a cask somewhere in the recipie, as Tobasco Sauce is aged in oak barrels, and a cask is the closest thing EQ seems to have to oak barrels.

As crazy as it sounds, we may even need to use a cask in an oven. Sony's done stranger things before.

Another random thought: perhaps instead of a pepper (introduced with PoP) it requires a scale from a firebreather of some sort (Kunark/Velious)?
