Ok this is a little bit out there, but first I went back to the text....

durable stone silk to withstand the energies of the phylactery

Then I searched lucy for the word energy.

The only spell that uses the word energy is Reclaim Energy. http://lucy.fnord.net/spell.html?id=331&source=Test

Certainly would make sense for a phylactery.

Durable Silk component idea

Has anyone tried any of the following spells:

Skin Like Rock
Protection of Rock
Strength of Stone

Just thinking more of the "stone" side than the "durable" side of the silk.

Of course, I'm a big slacker and haven't gotten the books to try myself.

Played around with Skin like Rock and Strength of Stone. Personally Strength of Stone sounds like the correct spell, but apparently no one else does because I haven't seen anyone else experiment with it besides myself heh.

I still think it's odd a druid spell would be used for something inherently evil. =( Call me silly. I still say how about looking at the necro line of spells. Gonna go try those combines with the insert pattern now.

the 'shielding' line

the 'rune' line (steelskin manaskin force shield types)

or as previously commented something like sacrifice or convergence which seem a little high...

finally got my guild to kill the spider guardian and he didnt drop the sodding book and we wiped to all the little spiders.. sod i hate eq ))

the other idea i had was maybe it uses an imbue spell

A pelt to try

While sitting out in So Ro, attempting to spawn Takish-Hiz, Scrounge spawned and dropped his pelt. Its been a long time since I've bothered with him, but I noticed his pelt is now tagged to be used in tradeskills.
Perhaps try this with the silks and see if you get a combine. I know this is WAY OUT there. Worth a try tho.

Scrounge's pelt doesn't combine in collapsible sewing kit with any form of 'vial of XXX mana', with 1-4 silks, with or without embroidery needle.

Earthen tempers, cockatrice egg oil also added to my "DNC list".

I will break this mystery, or it will break me.

The combine for the Soul Net was trivial to me at 238 Fletching.

I tried it, along with every reasonable looking necro spell up to L 44. With and without vials of mana, 1 to 4 silks... ::rubs temples:: Also tried all druid spells with the word "stone" in them. It's either something really simple we're missing here, or something no one's going to get except by accident.

It should not be something we can only happen upon by accident. The Enchanted Velium bits recipe was a lot of trial & error, too, but trying the spell scroll was something that was bound to happen.


Hmmmm, anyone tried spell scrolls like:

Enchant Clay? - not quite stone, but ...
Enchant Adamantite/Steel/etc - metals are durable....
Imbue Diamond - diamonds are one of the hardest substances...
Imbue Plains Pebble - pebble = stone ?

Also maybe we need to make a new kind of curing agent. There is a smithing temper made with blue diamond dust. Maybe we can make some new tailoring cure using diamond dust, either blue or that stuff you can find on the ground in the td

Also I noticed something that might be relevent. Every item for this quest (at least those no drop) is 0.4wgt and is ALL/ALL. So perhaps if we can find other items with that criteria we might find our combine. I also noticed the two new brewing items are 0.0 and None/None, so I doubt those are involved.
