Just a really silly notion, but anyone tried using a Vah Shir Anvil in their velium combines with the Spiritual Anchor? ... After all, it *IS* a spirit anchor anvil.

IIRC, didn't NPC mention it had powers to help bond the spiritual to the mundane(or such) ... I need to recheck NPC texts, but if you were going to smith (read as PoP metal enchanting) a spiritual anchor to a velium bit, the anvil would fit in as a reasonable means to attach the spiritual to the physical ... much like making Humming Orbs. Maybe hammer too.

I thought about this and did some checking, this is making actually alot of sense. After getting the anvil your asked to make shadow disks, which the recipe is swirling shadows, metal bits, your Vah Shir Anvil and your Vah Shir Apprentice Mallet. What if the recipe for the enchanted velium bits is the exact same, but Velium bits replacing metal bits...

So when I get home, unless someone else tries, I'll go get a hammer and anvil, and try combining :

Velium Bits + Swirling Shadows + Vah Shir Anvil + Vah Shir Apprentice Mallet

*One more thing to add... as far as another reason this makes sense...

Tome of Miragul : The Hole : Old World
      History of Di'zok : Chardok : Kunark
Journal of altatlaatl : Kedge Keep : Old World
Firebone Notebook : Plane of Disease : Planes of Power
Sanguine Tome : Cazic Thule : Old World
      Velkeletor's Tome : Velkeletors Labrynth : Velious
Sands of Ro/Grapes : South Ro/Misty Thicket : old World
Velium : Several Zones : Velious
Heavy Clay : Gorge : old world
Spiritual Anchor : South Ro/Oasis : Old world
PRecious garnet : Ocean of Tears : Old world
Vial of Vampire Blood : Mistmoore Castle : Old world
Stone Silk : Nagafen's Lair : Old World
Phase Spider Silk : Dragon Necropolis: Velious
Kunzar Koi : Sebelis : Kunark

Umm So we got a whole lot of Old world, Couple Kunark, Couple Velious, A planes of Power.... Where is Luclin... It gets skipped over. Now if there was a luclin, I could see why it might skip over Ykesha, or LDON... But putting stuff from all expansions in the quest up to POP, but leaving out luclin doesnt make sense.

ANother thing to look at, perhaps LOY is involved with the stone silk portion. Maybe the sheers from LOY are used in the recipe somehow with the silk.....

      Just some thoughts

Hehe, I had noticed that too, but wasn't going to track down and make a summary list such as you have, but it DOES show what I was also thinking ... except that the books are seperate from the drops ....

Tome of Miragul : The Hole : Old World
        History of Di'zok : Chardok : Kunark
Journal of altatlaatl : Kedge Keep : Old World
Firebone Notebook : Plane of Disease : Planes of Power
Sanguine Tome : Cazic Thule : Old World
        Velkeletor's Tome : Velkeletors Labrynth : Velious
These are merely the books the oracle's assistant requires for the hints and some components for manufacture. So they really wouldn't have any impact on where Miragul obtained his ingredients.
Sands of Ro/Grapes : South Ro/Misty Thicket : old World
Velium : Several Zones : Velious
Heavy Clay : Gorge : old world
Spiritual Anchor : South Ro/Oasis : Old world
PRecious garnet : Ocean of Tears : Old world
Vial of Vampire Blood : Mistmoore Castle : Old world
Stone Silk : Nagafen's Lair : Old World
Phase Spider Silk : Dragon Necropolis: Velious
Kunzar Koi : Sebelis : Kunark
These are the ingredient drops known to be needed (so far).
All are from Norrath, and would indicate that Miragul had knowledge of the continents of Velious and Kunark well before most mortals did.

Unless he obtained an anvil and hammer from some Kerran whose kin sent him a care package, I don't see how Miragul would have been able obtain items from Luclin.

(LoY knowledge could be viable for Miragul though, since he seems to have managed to obtain ingredients from two whole continents which were largely unknown to the world at the time he created his phylactory.)

Now, if I could get the friggin ghoul to drop the anchor (and hadn't gleefully destroyed my hammer and anvil when I dinged 250 smithing), I'd try something like ...

        Velium Bit(s) + Spiritual Anchor + Vah Shir Anvil + Hum/Luc Mallet

The metal + the mundane + the items to bind them together ... etc. = enchanted velium bits?

I think we are missing an important role-play detail here. Miragul was a member of the Heretics. The Heretics /HATED/ Kerrans. It was the war in The Hole that blew the kitties to the moon.

I mean. It is worth a shot. I'll edit this post and say what is DNC in a few hours. But, still -- why would a known heretic contact the moon kitties who hate his race so much? Wouldn't that imply the portals were active in some way, which they weren't, until Al`Kabor went tinkering about?

DNC: Essence Emerald + Jar of Acid in a kiln. (For someone who wanted earlier to follow the Tunare recipe for reinforcing stone silks)

Al'Kabor has nothing to do with portal technology, other than stranding himself on Luclin with them at one point, before Ognit and players were able to bring his annoying self back.

I been thinking about the stone silk, maybe it needs blood. The cazicthule tailoring combines are 2 silks and a spinechill ichor
spinechill ichor vial, spinechill silk(2)=spinechillsilk swatch

                    ichor = 1 : a thin watery or blood-tinged discharge
2 : an ethereal fluid taking the place of blood in the veins of the ancient Greek gods

so maybe 2 stone silks + blood??

Tryed imp, human, iksar, frogloc, necromancer, ichor, sanark, and no luck. I really thought imp blood was a winner. If any one has any spinechill ichor to test with the 2 silks id love to know the answer....

Has anyone tried the stone silk combinations with the wax used to make bow strings? If I wasn't so swamped with guild activities lately, I'd try it myself.

                          ya i tried wax

earth blood would not fit this quest, the quest is too simple .. nothing requires that far up in the food chain of eq

My thought is to try the Coldain Smithing Hammer also. I would try it, but I can't get the ghoul to drop the anchor :/

He reactivated them. ;p Ognit is on my list, too. He messed with the wall in the hole and flooded all of Odus with brell's minions. Darn meddling gnomes.

I will list the DNC's for the Humming Luclinite Mallet + anvil soon as I decipher my shorthand. Nothing new discovered.
