From the post in the smithing section about the unsolved *a Sewing Needle* Tailorers will love you bit, I would think that the Stone Silk, Insert Pattern and *a Sewing Needle* is the combine for that part. This cannot be tried until that recipe is found, so this may or may not be part of it.

So far I have modeled the needle combine after the embroidering needle, replacing the bit with all other types of bits to no luck.

    Tried:
    Planar Steel Bit
    Molten Bit
    Wind Metal Bit
    Nightmare Iron Bit
    High Quality Bit
    Acrylia Bit
    Velium Bit

If I could actually convince people to hunt Reruga's in water, I would try a Chunk of E'cian Ice, but I really doubt it would be that hard to obtain.

I also have not tried either deity bits. (Tunare/Karana)

There's absolutely no evidence from the quest text that a "Sewing Needle" is required for this combine.

That reference in the smithing forum has to do with the recipe for the Lemming Fur Backpack, that had to do with SOE including a sewing needle in the recipe, which is apprently an old but as yet undiscovered recipe. They had pity and changed it to the already discovered embroidery needle.

Since we now know that there is a recipe for a sewing needle, they've left it up to the smiths to tear their hair out

Of course, being that they already included the needle in one recipe, they might have done it again. :/

WHY does every tradeskill quest for a caster have to end in a flowing thought item.

I have plenty of ft. The last thing i need is more. sigh

And the stats on that cleric tunic look very underwelming for the effort (understatment)

Sure lets go back to 20 ac which is newbie ac for a cleric. sure it has decent hp/mana but overall its a downgrade.

I wonder if i could at least mq it with a twink. That robe would be much better suited for my twink than my main

I think this robe is aimed more towards the casual player who does not raid all the time. I'm a 65 enchanter and its a great upgrade for me. In fact, it makes FT15 achievable for me which before it was not.

i have a question, does it matter what bp/robe you turn in, thurg/ss/kael? does it change the reward? i mean, its a bit harder to find an ss mq than a thurg mq, not to mention i could try farming for an thurg robe, i destroyed my ss robe when i quit one time, and now have a pog robe.

Many of the other enchant metal spells, when used for smithing purposes, are usable only on large bricks of ore; Perhaps you could get a large brick of velium enchanted, then chisel it down into small pieces? (I'd test this myself, but I lack a level 49 enchanter).

Enchant Velium only works on the velium bars you buy at the JC store in Thurgadin. There is no level 49 version of it (which is the level of the enchant metal spells for smithing).

anyone try using 'a chunk of velium' ?? i mean most pop stuff that is used is often 'raw material' before its 'enchanted' turned into bars and stuff, like say a chunk of wind metal etc.

For the stone silk combine, I had a thought that it might be similar to the silk swatch used for solstice robe so I tried the following:

essence emerald + celestial essence + jar of acid in kiln = DNC
imbued sapphire + celestial essence + jar of acid in kiln = DNC
pristine emerald + celestial essence + jar of acid in kiln = DNC
stone silk + celestial essence + blessed dust of tunare in loom = DNC

Really had no reason to try the pristine emerald, other than I found one on a merchant while I was running around getting the other stuff. Anyone else have any thoughts on a gem that could be ground into dust and combined with the stone silk? Nothing else came to mind.

Gems that can be powdered by either Gem + Acid or Gem + Acid + Celestial Essence in Kiln:

                          Opal (used for Misty Glaze)
                          Imbued Emerald (Solstice Robe)
Imbued Plains Pebble (Lucky Cabbage and Blessed Fishing Pole)
                          Blue Diamond (Celestial Temper)
Black Marble (used to make the POP Mortar and Pestle for Rogues)

                            Small/Medium/Large Container Base Mold

This is the base inside of the box and it must be made of durable stone silk to withstand the energies within a phylactery
While small/medium/large container base mold is intended for smithing purpose I think it would be a good idea to include these in the recipe research.

                            Stone silk [?] + Insert Pattern [1] + Small/Medium/Large Base Container Mold [1] = Silk Insert

Sandstorm Pearl and the PoN one (midnight stone?). Nothing so far would lead me to believe that this quest would use PoP items - seems to be all old world...
