  • Another Option

Has anyone thought to try a couple variations with 4 Heady Kiolas in the mix? I know we all HATE the ****ed things but it does cure standard silks.

    Maybe

Heady Kiolas (4) + Insert Pattern + Stone Silk (x)
    ..or..
Heady Kiolas (4) + Insert Pattern + Stone Silk (x) + Spell: Endure (type)

I don't know, I wish like hell I had an insert pattern to do my own testings with.

      • In collapsed Tailoring kit

        5 stone silks = DNC

        6 stone silks = DNC. I don't have tomes so I can't test.

stone silk + purified vial of mana = DNC

2 stone silks + purified vial of mana = DNC

3 stone silks + purified Vial of mana = DNC

etc for EACH type of mana vial all the way down to thicken mana.

Yes. I tried Heady Kiolas and Heady Paelas. Read aforementioned entire thread, please. =)

          • Some of these were previously reported in threads by me and others, but I tried all of the following combinations:

Stone Silk + Vial of Purified Mana
            Stone Silk + Celestial Temper
Stone Silk + Celestial Temper + Vial of Purified Mana

Repeated with 2 Stone Silk and 3 Stone Silks
Repeated all of the above with an Embroidery Needle.
Used both Collapsible Sewing Kit and Brew Barrel for each combination.

            All were DNC.

Like many others, I am unable to try any combinations that include the Insert Pattern because I have not been able to acquire the Tome of Miragul over the course of 4 trips to The Hole and weeks of auctioning to buy the Tome of Miragul with offers that recently reached 50k. I have the other 5 books, 3 Stone Silk and every component for all of the other recipes.

            • spirit pouch?

I thought i read somewhere that the phylactery we're trying to create held a soul. So wouldn't it make sense to try using the shaman spell: Spirit Pouch with the combine? I mentioned it earlier and I haven't seen any feedback on it.

I have been following the "entire" thread very closely. I must have missed it in there somewhere. <sigh>

                • Had a random thought, anyone try earthen temper in there somewhere? Perhaps in a forge. Tho I think the endure magic part makes sense as well. Perhaps both?

If I had a tome of miragul I'd try it myself /cry

                  • Parsing exactly what a Phylactery, and an insert in a Phylactery are I have another idea that I can't try yet (still haven't gotten Miragul's, let alone Di'Zok's) based on an insert being a pouch:

1-4 silk threads, 1-4 stone silks (as the "furs"), the insert pattern, and an Embroidery Needle

Possibly replacing the silk threads with phase silk threads.

                    • Did a few more combines for the Stone silk and no luck, but came up with a few new ideas. Something small, but I don't know if anyone noticed is that since the Stone Silk is just no drop like the phase spider stuff, chances are it's at least two. Looking like at the enchanted velium bits, I think we're on the right track of figuring out that it probably requires a spell along with it and a temper. Here's what I tried tonight:

                      Stone Silk+Stone Silk+Imp Blood+Spell: Strength of Earth=DNC
                      Stone Silk+Stone Silk+Imp Blood+Spell: Skin Like Rock=DNC
                      Stone Silk+Stone Silk+Imp Blood+Spell: Stength of Stone=DNC
                      Stone Silk+Stone Silk+Fiery Temper+Spell: Stength of Stone=DNC
                      Stone Silk+Stone Silk+Fiery Temper+Spell: Strength of Earth=DNC
                      Stone Silk+Stone Silk+Fiery Temper+Spell: Skin Like Rock=DNC
                      Stone Silk+Stone Silk+Fiery Temper+Spell: Skin Like Rock+Embroidery Needle=DNC
                      Stone Silk+Stone Silk+Fiery Temper+Spell: Stength of Stone+Embroidery Needle=DNC
                      Stone Silk+Stone Silk+Fiery Temper+Spell: Strength of Earth+Embroidery Needle=DNC

I feel pretty confident about the Fiery Temper+Spell: Strength of Stone+Stone Silk+Stone Silk combine. If someone wants to work with this, go for it.

                      • database numbers..

ok first off new to the discussion followed it throug with interest and kudos to the lot of u for getting this stuff sorted to this point..

I was wondering if a clue might be gained from the magelo numbers posted earlier.. on the combines with a separate subcombine there seems to be listed in order..

                        the final
                        the subcombine
the lore piece given by quest dude..

for the unknown combine there only seems to be one gap

can we draw from this that the pattern must be combined with the stone silk in some way to obtain the insert...

                        just my tuppence..

                        • I've been looking at the recipes and I noticed that the recipes so far all share one thing in common: They need another dropped component and/or some (expensive) storebought component.

With regards to Tailoring, we know that there are a few pricy items around: the metal threads. Maybe this would work (or a variety of it):

Stone Silk + Stone Silk + Platinum Thread

                          In a Tailor Kit?

                            • Endure Magic

Has anyone tried including the Endure Magic spell yet? this definitely sounds the most promising to me:

Varying number of stone silks + Pattern + Endure Magic = X?
                              Or even
Varying number of stone silks + Endure Magic = X?

As said the magelo database item nos imply that there probably isn't a sub combine and this idea does seem to fit with the other combines and the idea that Miragul was a master of all four types of magic.
