Misc stuff that might help someone else...

BR (Brodder's revenge) is a cure hangover in the way hair of the dog or in this case hair of the dwarf that bit you would settle your shakes and alcohol-induced effects.

You say, 'Hail, Jovan'
Jovan says 'Not so loud! My head is spinning so! What I wouldn't give for a [Tumpy's Tonic] right now! They were always just the thing for the hair of the gnoll that bit me.'

Tumpy Tonic has a tradeskill tag on it.

I must say that I'm at a loss at this point really. There are just too many possible combinations. We have this text:

Mug Ale, shot scotch/whisky, veggies, snake egg, cask
... and ...
But with vodka, and egg, and spices concocted

So we need vodka (vodka or KS vodka), and an egg that would be in Luclin or earlier with tradeskill tag (alligator egg, alligator eggs, aviak eggs, basilisk egg, basilisk eggs, cockatrice egg, dragon egg, drake egg, fish eggs, griffon eggs, owlbear egg, rockhopper egg, shissar egg, snake egg, snow griffon egg, or wurm egg), and a container (cask, bottle, shotglass, none).

Just off those options we have 128 combinations before we get to ales or spices, also before trying PoP or Ykesha eggs. Trying only ale and dwarven ale makes that 256, trying only spices and veggies makes it 512...

So yes, I think it might be time for someone to throw us a bone

Maybe a dwarven pick-me-up is the thing we need.

I visited the SolA and picked up a Frothy Goblin Tonic. Lewena didn't want it, and it is not marked for tradeskills. I still tried it with a few combinations of vodka, eggs, etc. without result.

The goblin bartender is not a merchant. His drops consist of a couple of armor pieces.

The goblin merchant in the zone did not sell anything special.

I just read the whole Thread and a few Things came to my mind:

A lot of Steins were mentioned, especially those souvenir Steins from Thugardin, these reminded me of the fools gold stone

just one Thought - Perhaps you have to use an stein instead of a cask or bottle?

My main is a DE SK and I can't figure out which DE quest he's talking about here. Anybody have an idea?

Its just ordinary red wine, but whenever I hear Neriak and drink, This one comes to my mind. I would also guess that Hate-Elven points to Neriak.

I was poking around Thurgadin for clues, and found the following in one of the bars.

Saramor says 'So good to see you Rumagur, I hope you're feelin better today.'
Rumagur says 'Aye Sara, much better indeed. With the help of good Fronden here I think I've finally figured out what was causing the alarming condition under me left arm. I must admit it was givin me quite a scare for a while, not to mention the pain was drivin me to drink.'
Saramor says 'Well, don't ya just keep us in suspense now. What in the world was it?'

At this point the NPC text and the NPC pathing were out of sync. The bar patrons chase Horasug out of the bar, and Rumagur's answer is never displayed (at least on my server). I was thinking that maybe Fronden brewed some kind of remedy.

Also in the bar...

Loremaster Fronden says 'So I was polishing up the bar the other day when in hops this piece of rope and says, 'I'll take a bottle of Frostreaver's Frozen Vodka .' I look at him and I says, 'We don't serve no ropes here, now beat it!' Hehe. . .'
Loremaster Fronden says 'Not ten minutes later a piece of rope comes hoppin' in and says the same thing, only this one's tied up in the middle and one end is all messed up. So I says, 'Hey, ain't you the same piece o' rope I just kicked outta here?''
Loremaster Fronden says 'He looks me dead in the eyes and says, 'Nope, I'm afraid not.' <grin>'

I've never seen this vodka, and can't find any reference that it exists in the game. Maybe it's never been found?

The thread in Thurg that was out of sync for you ends in something like "Yeah, I was leaning on it so now I lean on the other arm." That's by no means verbatim but I can assure you I've heard it several dozen times and don't remember a reference to a medicinal cure.


Also, the dwarf in the nexus that was working to free his brother has moved...Could it be possible that the trapped miners in Echo Caverns (lowbie side) were related to him?

Oh, and spices in a mortar and pestle to mix them? Pepper, spices, allspice, ect.

Summary of discussions from DNC thread.

Over the last few days, some discussion has taken place in the DNC thread. In order to keep the threads distinct, I've copied the essential point of the posts from there to here.

Gilgam suggested using Hot-n-Spicy Toelings. I replied that I'd tried them, but not with Aviak Eggs. My tests were also somewhat cursory. If some could give that a shot in depth, it would be great.

ChaseFV suggested we try Aviak Egg Oil. My response was, "BR is supposed to be a hangover cure, and traditionally, that includes a raw egg, tabasco sauce, and some form of liquor (I think). This translates into Brodder's comments about an Aviak egg, some form of spices, and the ale. It's worth trying with the oil, though." Again, I've never tried it myself.

Finally, Tides asked if we'd tried Plant Shoots.

I'm not sure where'd they'd fit in the recipe. Substitute for the spices? There's been little so far to indicate that the shoots could be spicy. I don't know, seems a tad far-fetched to me, but by all means, please try and let us know.

I was inspired by someone's suggestion of trying Flame of Vox as a spice, so last night i got on and tried a few things.

Starting with the recently discovered Frothy Frostbite (it was a recently discovery wasn't it?):

I also tried Flame of Fennin in place of Flame of Vox, and also aviak eggs in place of snake eggs. I also tried a cask in place of a bottle on those too, but I was getting tired by then and may not have gotten each of the possibilities.

DNC on all of them.

I also tried a few other combinations that I don't have with me. I'll have to edit them in later.

If Brodder Foamymugs still reads these, I think it's about time for another hint. Hopefully something a little more precise and straightforward. Perhaps at least which container we need. Bottle? Cask? Shotglass? That would cut down on a lot of unnecessary attempts.

Or perhaps just which kind of eggs to use. Snake? Aviak? Something else? Even that would drastically cut down on the possible combinations, but still leave us with many to try.

Since we haven't heard from Brodder in ages, I am thinking we already got the right combination, somewhere... I have been preoccupied with my smithing lately, but hope to get time to try some more DNC's tonight! Got multiple aviak eggs now instead of just the one. Perhaps it needs more than one of something?
