Seeing as how Lewena is in Shadowhaven, which was in the Luclin expansion, I highly doubt something foraged in the next expansion (PoP) would be in the recipe/quest.

It is believed that the walnut is for the Karana salad baking recipe which seems to be broken.

Allspice? Cross-skill combines now work (i.e. fermented yarrow).

Ale + Allspice + KS Vodka + Snake Egg + Cask = DNC

A different ale? Spice? Egg? /shrug

Well, as for real world "hangover drinks", and they tend to even get used in movies a lot, consist of vodka, an egg, tabasco sauce, and worcestershire sauce. I am sure there are other variations.

Almost every recipe in Brodder's diaries have been implemented to the letter with variations per recipe of a single item or two. I don't see why BR would be any different.

I tend to have a feeling that aviak eggs might be the egg in question because it is Faydwer specific and is only foraged in Butcherblock. And well seeing he is a dorf that makes sense to me.

Vodka he names outright in his recipe so no doubt in my mind vodka is in it.

A mug ale he mentions which to me says that it must mean an ale that is in a mug when you buy it (now of course VI could have changed this as well but we need to use the KISS philosophy here).

Spices. Now this to me is the anomally. Brodder keeps mentioning something hot as in spicy hot so what items that drop, can be bought maybe from alchemy vendors or foraged would have a RL counterpart that has a "hot" atribute to it? Remember though, KISS and don't go past Luclin based drops (I would even venture to say that we shouldn't look further than Kunark to be totally honest)

Food, or in this case drink, for thought.

Well, I looked for other recipies with the word "hot" in them (I SOOOO LOVE the new database format) and came up with Hot and Spicy Toelings, which has spices and garnish. SO, we could just need to add spices.

I do think mabye someone could come up with something with Jumjum in it since it was suggested that perhaps it was included (and almost every hint he has given us has involved either a Halfling or mentioned Jumjum by name). Unfortunatly Halflings do not like me very much since I'm an Iksar so I rather doubt that they would just let me walk in to their home town and purchase some.

Also, the ale used is probably a Dwarven Ale (or mabye the drink that the dwarven thingy of Brell summons) Since it is known as the hair of the DWARF that bit ye, so it would make sense that it is a dwarven concoction.

We have mentioned Vodka or possibly Kromrif Spirit Vodka as the other beverage to add, it's a good bet that one or the other is in the brew, probably just plain Vodka but who knows with Dwarves, they've been known to put just about ANYTHING in a drink (fire beetle eyes? Skunk Glands? Ugh...).

So spice + Jumjum something + vodka/KS vodka + Dwarven? ale + container (ales are usually in a cask so that would be my guess) might work. Just a guess though.

All this thinking like a Dwarf has made me thirsty for something, if only I could figure out what it is...

I did a search on this board and couldn't find a recipe that uses Habenero Pepper. I am not sure when this item was introduced, but I've only been able to forage it in PoK. The Lore on it is "A Spicy Pepper".

Maybe it's time to start experimenting with dem peppers neh?
Dey might be needed to make something that could be used in the B.R.
and it may or may not be part of lewena's quest...or favorite new ale.

tah fer now...keep trying and when Den Mum Can I'm sure she'll bend dah ears of the devs and point them to this thread and the others.

                      Special bottle ?

Yes, I've tried a few things with the pepper, vinegar and/or water, and
various containers (cask, bottle, shotglass, nothing). Some straight forward recipies anyway. I'm kinda worried based on some previous comments that the hot sauce component will require a special bottle.
Guess, I'll try some more. Maybe its a POK only combine.

Also, I have two stackable "jumjum stalks" which do not stack with each other. I assume they have different item numbers. Read the same and look the same.

                        Slightly off topic....

In the Brodder's quotes consolidation, he mentions a joke about a "Moon Shaker" and something secretly making it into the Luclin release. This was a pun concerning the Faydwer Shaker, a drink made by combining a small number of pre-existing drinks.

When looking for clues about Shadow Haven, someone was trying combines with a type of whiskey? that was sold in Shadow Haven. They tried using it because it had the tradeskill flag.

Do we know what other Luclin vendor-sold beverages have a tradeskill flag? This may not be the drink we're seeking, but it sounds like the Moon Shaker may be in game.

There are two types of jumjum. One is groundspawn/found on vendors, the other is only found on Nillipuss and used for his quest. You turn in 4 to .... forget his name, but he's standing in the jumjum field, by the druid guild.

Interesting thread, I was thinking of using the pepper from PoK also, but then thought that maybe that wouldn't fly with the quest being that it's in an expansion after the quest hehe.

Thanks Brodder SO much for your input!

                            Double Tap

I checked all post's and couldnt see it anywhere. So i tried and sure enough, it didnt work.

1 Cast of Judegement + Lewena = nothing on corpse

Thought i would narrow the list down. Did take 3 faction hits, House of Fordal, Traders of the Haven, and 1 more, sorry had to zone into the bazaar after i checked her empty rotting corpse. So I missed the last one.

I hoped that she may have a clue on her corpse, like the drink or reward, sorta like that Sissy Bard on the Freeport docs who drops the quest reward everytime you kill her.

I've been following this one for some time - and although relatively new to brewing, I thought i'd throw in some thoughts ...
But with vodka, and egg and spices concoted...
… could be plain baking spices – but I thought of the Habanero Peppers which seem to be ground spawn in PoK …

and from the dwarf himself –
Maybe it's time to start experimenting with dem peppers neh?
Dey might be needed to make something that could be used in the B.R.
and it may or may not be part of lewena's quest...or favorite new ale.
So peppers are part of A drink – but which one ?

I think we’re talking about two (or maybe more) drinks here – one being Brodder’s Revenge which may or may not be Lawena’s favourite – but it’s certainly Brodder’s.

The reference to looking down leads me to a ground spawn of some sort (dwarves can’t forage – but we’re closer to the ground than most) – which ties in with the peppers – and also various types of mushrooms – notably the ones that spawn in Kaladim.
Munching a pretzel between swigs of the imported double brew double stout, he recounts all he's tasted, and enjoyed, and begins to wonder, what makes a person enjoy an ale to call it their favorite?
Hmmmm... if he’s importing the double brewed double stout then he’s not in Kaladim – where you can make it on the spot. What makes a person call an ale their favourite – especially if they’re away from home – surely something that brings back memories and reminds them of home – some sort of dwarvish ale that can be brewed in kaladim...

I’ve got do some more cv rehashing in my job search just now but I’ve already done a mass of test combines (with no results ). I’ll do some more later on today and post up a set of results.

Edit : I've gone through a list of combines and posted them separately under the Brodder's Revenge DNC list - now it's back to the brew barrel - or maybe just the bar
