Looking back I saw that no combines of the various stone/rock spells were reported using the Insert Pattern so I tried some for myself.

Stone Silk (1-4) + Spell: Skin Like Rock = DNC
Stone Silk (1-4) + Spell: Skin Like Rock + Insert Pattern = DNC

Stone Silk (1-4) + Spell: Protection of Rock = DNC
Stone Silk (1-4) + Spell: Protection of Rock + Insert Pattern = DNC

Stone Silk (1-4) + Spell: Strength of Stone = DNC
Stone Silk (1-4) + Spell: Strength of Stone + Insert Pattern = DNC

Stone Silk (1-4) + Spell: Strength of Earth = DNC
Stone Silk (1-4) + Spell: Strength of Earth + Insert Pattern = DNC

i tried ice lichen with 2 silks with and without the pattern
and with new tannin and embrodery needle
I also tried crushed diamond dust

no luck

Hmm. Well, if so, I'd love to hear about it. If it comes from the First Fist of Light website, I will have to disregard it as complete and utter fiction, even in regards to a fictional world. Banegrivm was really, really good at telling stories that sounded real, but had nothing to do with the world of Norrath. He annoyed many Quest Troupe members, to my reccollection -- I remember Danak and Firiona having a good laugh at his expense twice.


I have come to the conclusion that the Silk Insert combine is broken at this time. All the other instructions were clear and concise. I am going to make one last attempt, with the Granite Tempers, and then with, again, more container molds.

If we needed a vial of mana, it would have said so. Read the words very carefully ... it mentions... a base container mold... and durable stone silk, as if the stone silk was durable enough by itself. Not, cure the stone silk, or bake the stone silk, or make it durable by enchanting it.... just... durable stone silk able to withstand the energies within the phylactery. It's either so simple it's in front of our noses, or broken. Every other combine told you exactly how to do it.


And for the hundredth time, LOL. YES WE HAVE TRIED SKIN LIKE STONE / ROCK ETC. =)

what was the maxium number of stone silks we have tried? 6? maybe its something bigger like 7-9 silks plus the pattern?

question, does the anchor have a tradeskill tag? if so then why doesnt stone silk have a tradeskill tag. if the anchor doesnt have a tradeskill tag, then this leads me to think that there is some other combo needing to be done and combined with the stone silk like the enchanted velium bits. As said before, the info given on the stone silk is vague whereas the other combines were fairly good clues, its most likely broken, perhaps some text that was left out. if there was text that was left out then we are shooting blanks, or perhaps we havent asked the npc the right 'phrase' to elaborate even though the doesnt require such to elaborate on the others

I've decided to start adding screenshots of the various unique drops and crafted items from this quest to the write-up. I have a few already that I'll be adding in, probably later today. I'm especially looking for screenshots of the Tunic and Robe with the corrected Effect instead of Focus Effect.

I'm also looking for narrowed trivials on many of the combines. If you perform any of the combines, please report here your raw skill, whether you used a geerlok, whether you were permitted to attempt the combine (I suspect most steps will be skill-restricted, like the clips and enchanted velium bits), and whether it was trivial.

just made the crucible of containment with a raw pottery skill of 229 did not use a geeloc and it was trivial made in pottery wheel in POK

This is probably wrong, but...

Many theories have the stone silk being combined with a 'base container mold' of some sort. Yet tailoring doesn't use molds, its uses patterns. The only 'container' patterns I can think of (quested ones asside) would be Backpack and Quiver patterns. Maybe they're worth a shot?

There really is only that one sentence: "This is the base inside of the box and it must be made of durable stone silk to withstand the energies within a phylactery." Doesn't give much in the way of detail, heh.

Nedaria's Landing

I was poking around Allakhazam this morning and guess what I found. A new zone that I didnt know of (because it was quietly patched in) called Nedaria's Landing adjoining Jagged Pine. Alla's lists a Shore Basilisk as a creature found there and it's known loot is a no-drop hide with a weight of 0.4! If you have played EQ for over 2 years then you know that Basilisks protect themselves by turning you into stone (Stone Breath I believe). Maybe this is the missing ingredient to use with the stone silk. Good Hunting folks

I just killed some, basilisk hide is 2.5 weight, not 0.4.

DNC 1-2 stone silk + 1-2 Basilisk hides, don't have pattern to try

It was a nice suggestion, but very unlikely since the new zone didn't go live until a couple weeks after this quest.

I argue that he never reached Planes of Power, or Luclin. (See Diaku blood suggestion above)

I found a site that is suposed to be a complete collection of all the lore books in EQ (weather it really is on not, I'm not 100% sure)

So he actually made it into the Planes of Power.

In there is:

I also think someone else quoted something in either this thread or the other about Trak actually giving Miragul a book of some type (I think) but I didn't see and and didn't feel like reading through 100 posts to try and find it.

As for Luclin, my guess is he didn't even know about it before he turned himself into a Lich.
