Try combining the Mana Crystals with a drained Vial of Palatable Mana. I think we can use the Crystals to replenish the charges on those Vials somehow. Maybe it's just a straight combine with just the Crystals and an emptied Vial, maybe it requires an additional component.
If this is indeed the method to replenish the Vials, I expect that the Crystals will be returned and not used up in the refilling process.
I've updated the original two messages in this topic with the info up to this point, although I left out the Mana Crystals for now since its use is a mystery right now.

Something that might be important to some (such as myself); are the items usable from inventory? Useful instaclickies from inventory are always a good thing.

Congratulations to the first solver, now to go combine it for a Druzzil First. Unhappily, this item will be rotting in my bank. The effects are quite useless for a ranger, even soloing. I have my self mana buff, Mask of the Stalker, and my regen spell of 25 / tick... don't think this item will get used. And for crying out loud. The stats are atrocious for what is involved to make it. /AND/ I didn't even get a neat BP out of the deal.
Still disappointed, SOE.
Kirie, if you look at the stacking for Soul Clasp on lucy.fnord.net, you'll notice that it stacks with EVERYTHING except some mage self buffs, illusion bear spells shamans get, and Breath of Tunare (and spells like that).
Inability to stack with the Regen I to Regen X line doesn't matter, since that effect is usually worn, and there are NO druid/ranger regen spells in the stacking list to indicate that it does not stack with it.
Edit: A link for those who want to see what it looks like on lucy:
if that was the hybrid aspect of the quest (which would make sense), i'd suggest verant reconsider the negative str, sta, and hp since those aren't core stats most hybrids will give up to get some effective FT.
Is anybody looking for trying to find recipes for Quest item from assistant ?
I know that usually recipe in game are not very "realistic" but i find on web a real life recipe from Quebec. Sea foam
This recipe is in french i try to do a quick "translation" :
- Sugar
- Water
- Syrup of corn
- Eggs
- Nuts (strange we can find kiola nuts in OT )
- Pacane Carya spp (hickory) i dont know how to transalate this
I dont know if all this is usefull, but one think is Sure !
now i go to try this in my real Kitchen "miam"
The regeneration clicky sucks. Lots of things will overwrite it. Soul Clasp isn't as bad as you think though. It's mana regen that allows you to go over that FT 15 cap which stacks with pretty much everything except a few specific, uncommon spells because of the HP regen, and the +mana regen clickies. Poor mages.
Unless, of course, you are of the opinion that clickies like Lunar Whispers sucks.

*nods* I had only heard on Serverwide ranger there were stacking issues. Regardless, I don't have much room for buffs. Soloing, it's a little help? A little bit. As a hybrid, I'm always short on FT.
Overall, though, I am extremely displeased with the result, clicky or not. The stats bite, the effect could be a lot better. Anyone else think there's a way to upgrade this, that it's a cliffhanger quest? I still wonder what those crystals are for.
As a paladin, the soul clasp would be handy albeit annoying. 2hp/tick and more importantly 2mana/tick would be quite handy for soloing - mana regen for hybrids, especially nonuber hybrids, is at a premium.
Its annoying since Soul Clasp would have its most value when soloing, but that's also when Divine Purpose/Breath of Tunare have *their* most value, as they provide the most efficient self heal. Having to switch around Soul Clasp and BoT would get quite annoying, effectively losing a spell gem to BoT from the spell switchs/spell refreshs as your needs change and you need to switch buffs.
I'd never equip the thing, but Soul Clasp definitely has value. Worth the ton-o-plat to buy all the books that I couldn't solo? Probably not. But definitely not an unuseful buff.
And its interesting - Soul Clasp has stacking issues with 1 int purecaster, 1 wis purecaster, and 1 hybrid. Nicely distributed :P
