Oracle Quest - Tradeskill parts

The effect Soul Clasp doesn't stack with the right click Kodaic's Heightened Focus from Shawl of Awakenings... a safe assumption is that it won't stack with the similar effects from this list and these. Frankly, for a quest that requires grandmastery of tradeskills and quite a bit of platinum for the more rare books this reward is rather disappointing. So much for the tradeskill portion being the real reward...

Effect wrong on Soul Clasp?

Soul Clasp

2: Increase Hitpoints by 2 per tick
8: Increase Mana by 2 per tick

Cast on you: You feel your health begin to drain away.
Cast on other: Someone looks sick.
Wears off: You feel better.
Game Description: Grips your body in an unholy darkness, slowly draining your hit points while regenerating your mana.

It seems to me that this is a sort of a mini HP-to-mana spell, but in practice it's FT2+Regen2.... definitely a nicer effect, but really, they need to fix the spell description and messages.

Yeah, I think they screwed up the spell info. It sounds like it should be a necro type spell buff, converting hp to mana.

When grouped you'll probably have a better Regen spell. And when they change the other one to actually take away hitpoints, it will be worse than a FT2 item. The only silver lining is that you could exceed the FT cap, right?

The tradeksill requirements so far have been far short of something like the signet. From what i've seen the required skills for most combines are only in the high 100's. Hardly a grandmastery required item. Really the only book worth much of anything outside the quest was velks.

I'm still looking forward to doing the quest for the clicky effect.

if they changed it to be -2 hp +2 mana per tick it would be even more craptastic and why isn't that effect on the Dark Phylactry seeing as that effect is, well more dark then straight hp regen

Yeah, It would appear the effects should be switched IE: Soul Clasp on the Dark and vice versa. Also, these just have the 'feel' that they are for a greater purpose. With just a No Drop tag, the mana crystals. I suspect that you combine the phylactery with the crystals and something else, or turn the items it for a final item of your choice.

I dunno. All the clues just seem to give the aura of this, especially the work needed for it.

Quick speculation on the Mana Crystals...could it be used in place of the Sea-Foam Suger to make unlimited palatable mana?

It's already been tried in place of the sugar, but DNC.

Now its possible that the crystal is used to make the mana buff vials, in which case the recipe obviously would be at least slightly different...

What we need to try is a few different combines....

1st time around we had a Mana Vial, Yeast, the grapes and the sugar.... Now.... it's possible that the mana crystals are a replacement for 1 or more of the above. It could replace not only the sugar, but the vial of mana, or more. So need to try a bunch of combines like the crystals + lined vial + water or some such....

i really doubt the crystals are to make Vials of Palatable Mana,
theres a shaman potion far cheaper to give you a 100+ mana buff. no one uses it.

your talking 500pp for a 30 min buff, no one would buy or use this

Congratulations to the first solver, now to go combine it for a Druzzil First. Unhappily, this item will be rotting in my bank. The effects are quite useless for a ranger, even soloing. I have my self mana buff, Mask of the Stalker, and my regen spell of 25 / tick... don't think this item will get used. And for crying out loud. The stats are atrocious for what is involved to make it. /AND/ I didn't even get a neat BP out of the deal.

Still disappointed, SOE.

Like I said before, it's really nothing more than a small set of tweaks from KyrosKrane's HTML version on his site. It's designed to be printed in a nice doc format for you to have next to you PC.

I do it for most of the MMQ (Massive Multi-Quests) I've researched, and at the very least you might find the "master shopping list" handy.
