  • Hi,

    was today for 3h at dartains old spot. he didnt spawn. at his spot an templebound spirit popped 2 times (we killed him). this mob is on a different timer than the other mobs. we had to leave for some mins, and when we came back, this mob doesnt spawn anymore. we spent 2h more, and the fallen heretics spawned but this mob doesnt. my frineds had to leave so i camped near dartains spot. when i logged back, i saw this missing mob spawning, and surprise surprise, he is a roamer. im 20 mins now here wachting him. he walks in the tower and runs ther in circles, but doesnt come back. so what if the ph for dartain is this roamer? dunno how long it will take till he despaws.

    just an idea.

    • Well, if its true, it basically kills the ability to do this camp solo, if the roamer is already up (and if the roamer is in fact the PH)

      • Ok, i'm down at Dartain spawn now. A templebound spirit DID path back down into the area, but not back past the old rock door (at least not before I pulled it). I don't know if this is the right mob, but i'd bet it is.

        • lets say for now that this is the ph, they did after all make mini's in poh ph spawns :/, anywho, lets get some stats on this ph/dartain(if this is really a ph/dartain camp now)

          max dmg hit
          approx hp
          approx spawn time
          approx time of wandering before returning to spawn point

          can he be solo'd w/out agroing other mobs in the tombs? and is it safe to camp down there?

            • Found some Dartain info in books on Researcher Eldaro, but i'm too lazy to post it all here. I can't quite figure out the timeframe of the books, but if anyone has any ideas, please post here. Oh, and key info from the books is that when Dartain was released from the Plane of the Underfoot by the gnome, he was still alive, and not a ghost~

              Note: Warden Lius would not respond to any questions about dartain, ognit, the hole, etc etc. He did respaon to "What heretics?" but it was useless text that didnt even relate tot he question.

              Also: Went looking for the barbarian mentioned in the books, but all I found of interest was Ilisiv Gantrau near the druid ring in Toxx. Will not talk to you unless you "possess the power of the orb". Not listed on alla, any ideas?

                The Power of the Orb is for the mage epic.
                From memory Ilisiv Gantrau is the person mages hand the no-rent version of the epic in to in order to receive a permament version.

                • mage epic orb was never no rent, the new version is augmentable and doesnt have a charge of pet, so basically you can have two epic orbs at one time, but it doesnt do a mage good because its a weapon and primary only and only one will have a pet charge :P. the other thing that sucks is you need to equip the orb in order to cast the pet, thus meaning if the pet focus from ldon was attached to it, the epic pet wouldnt be focused (the epic pet isnt focused anyway as i understand because it's a charge on an item)

                    The Dartain camp is not soloable by most classes- I'm a level 65 wiz with some elemental gear and the ensnare dagger (for runners) and with druid regen to boot I got through the undead city but at the point where the gargs and constructs (right near jaelil) turn dark blue, the way is totally unsoloable - they hit triple/quad(?) 270ish and have approximately 12-13khp each which is 4 strike of solusek (assuming no resists) and they simply wrecked me with their ability to interrupt.

                    I brought a bard and a cleric down later and we tried lulling past most of the stuff and it worked until we got 2 roamer constructs with no where to dodge out of the way - they are unmezzable btw and I had to exodus out.

                    One group could do the camp but you need a hybrid/warrior tank and a druid/cleric healer - a slower helps loads too. Crowd control is almost a non issue as you'll be dealing with 2 mobs most at any given time and from what I saw our bard couldn't mez anything down there although pacify/lull does work well.

                    The only way I could see dartain/ph being solo'd is by a necro who FD's down to him and depending on how DOT's work while FD'd and the quality of a necro pet vs. mobs that hit this hard and fast - I can't say as I don't play one - I imagine necro slow for undead would help too.

                      =( No love for SKs.... Ive been down there soloing without much difficulty for days. Granted, I can only do about 10 mobs an hour, but its better than nothing. Also, there dosent seem to be much down in the temple that summons, except for named (or so i assume).

                      • no no, i didnt say solo 'down to' the camp, i see that as pretty much impossible, what i meant was camping down in the tomb's near his spawn and just kill his possible ph and hopefully him solo

                        • If you don't kill your way to his camp (and are not a monk, SK, necro, bard, or rogue) how do you plan on getting there alive? I could probably solo ym way from zonein to dartains room, but it would be risky and take a good ammount of time. So, instead of doing that, I just train in, FD, /q, come back and start clearing possible PHs.

                          • i'll be getting a group to help me get to dartain camp, then i'll be camping and staying there, just because you want to solo the camp doesnt mean you have to get there solo.
