There's obviously a new, rare spawn there for some reason. Verant wouldn't just add new, named spawn for the heck of it.

I've been trying to figure out what faction the epicurean halfling is on. I'm a Dark Elf Enchanter worshipping Innoruuk, and I'm:

ally to the deputies
dubious to the merchants of Rivervale
dubious to Mayor Gubbin
dubious to the rogues
dubious to the druids
scowling to the clerics
and indifferent to the epicurean halfling.

With Halfling Illusion, I'm:

ally to the deputies
amiable to the merchants
amiable to Mayor Gubbin
apprehensive to the rogues
dubious to the druids
threatening to the clerics
and indifferent to the epicurean halfling.

Then I tried all my racial illusions, I've got all except Vah Shir and Guktan. I was indifferent to the epicurean halfling in Halfling, Erudite, Dark Elf, Troll, Ogre and Iksar form. And amiable in all other illusions.

It appears the epicurean halfling isn't on any Rivervale faction.

Yeah, but charm/hail isn't logical. Of course, this is SoE we are talking about... Mob, as far as I can tell, is the same as the others. Was Dartain a ghost before the revamp? If so, why would he now be a ghost with a different name that you have to hail? My guess is rare spawn, and that the ghost will despawn quickly.

While I personally lean toward the it'll be fixed nice patch theory,

I do want to remind you guys of the greenmist quest, in it you had to talk to the haggle baron, now the haggle baron was a ghost in another form in dalnirs, he had to be charmed and the mirror handed in to spawn him.

Who knows, maybe they will fix Dartain. Or even the pottery vendor in Thurgadin.

There is lore about him. Read the lore about the Hole in the Library in PoK. He's the one who went into the Plane of Underfoot to seal the barrier between this plane and that. When the gnome broke the seal, Dartain emerged, but he had started becoming part of the plane. He tried to take back his place in Paineel, but someone denounced him, and he exiled himself to the Hole.

Random idea: The Protector of the Ruins gives out a quest which has the following text in it:

Then, with a magic I had studied from a long-forgotten tome, I would fashion a seal that would separate Paineel and the Underfoot once more. . . [Continue]?'

Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but I can guarantee that the Ghoul can spawn during the day. He spawned during the bright sunlight for me in South Ro yesterday. I just saw that the possibility that he only spawns at night was still listed on the very good quest write-up..

Has anyone figured out the Ghoul's PH? some guy before i got there had been killing everything in the sro desert trying to get an AC for 7 hours and he never saw the AC or the Ghoul....of course 30 min after he logged and i took over an AC spawned. Ring #5 given away and still no ghoul.

i recall reading somewhere about how some spawns work in sro, they occur in waves and will spawn another wave when the old wave is killed off, much similar to what happens in noob zones, anywho, i just gather up all the mobs and ae them be sure to not run too fast even then you can lose some, have killed ac once, terrortantuala once, alot of terror'lings, and like 8 ghouls of takish(no anchor), few other names too and a bazillion sand giants :P.

I have been camping him on several diffierent occasions for serveral hours each time. No luck. I wonder if the Tome of Miragul has been given to another mob?
