New Oracle Quest

anyone kept an eye out for what i suggested, a male ghost on the ground, or tried handing Protector of the ruins the rare book that drops off the ancients/olds? i will be trying giving the book to him soon though i dont have much in hope at this point. If you read through his text you could almost swear it was dartain. Once again peeps who had/have the pen/paper any clues or ideas on whats up?

ghosts on the ground

Last night It tried handing items to the ghosts on the ground, and the golems/elementals on the ground too. From what i've seen they're not actually "part of the game." The trade windows that comes up lists them as being "?" and not having a name, they also took any item I handed to them and didn't return it or give any messages. Here's a list of the ones I handed items to if someone else wants to try others:

Golem corpse @ top of zone near top of tower
Female ghost @ drop off, near "deep dirt" spawn
Female ghost @ first castle
Elemental @ pool room

I also went around exploring with eye of tallon trying to hand coppers to random items/mobs/anything that looked interesting, but I didn't really get anywhere. From what I saw there aren't any ghosts corpses or anything in the "destroyed" part of town. I explored most of it with my eye of tallon but couldn't get behind a few locked doors. I might have gotten furthur in but when I was exploring the library with eye, I saw a ground spawn on a bookshelf and kinda got distracted by it. Basically I ran in, DA'd, and grabbed it... then promptly got pummelled. The book is called "Old Paineel" anyone know what it's for? A friend of mine said Greenmist but I haven't confrimed that yet.

Ancient Tome of Lost lore (10ac 5stats +hp/mana range book thing) identifies as Ancient Tome of Lost Lore - it dropped off an old gargoyle. I have not turned it into the Oracle yet because he wasnt up. I will try this monday or perhaps this eve.

I gave the ancient tome of lost lore to the assistant and the oracle. Both said they didn't need it. Is there a chat setup in game about this quest? if not, maybe there should be until it's solved.

Bloodfiend

Maybe I'm just having real bad luck, but I've killed over 20 PHs for the Bloodfiend and I've yet to see him. Anyone else had this problem? He spawns in the middle of the three spawn around n50 n250 right?

I killed all three mobs at the fire-camp in Cazic Thule.
Took me some h to get a tae ew bloodfiend to spawn. First time it dropped a sword, and 2nd time it dropped the sanguine tome.
Just be patient and kill phs till it spawn.

I also tried handing the Ancient Tome of Lost Lore to Assistant Jeyular, and he returned it with the "I have no need for this" message. Cleared down to the Protector of the Ruins room last night as well, he also returns the Ancient Tome of Lost Lore with the same message. So no luck with that idea.

Has anyone killed extensively in the ghost tower, specifically the "a temple researcher" named that pops there? It's my thought that since all the other random named have two items on their drop list (Allakhazams can verify this except for ancient constructs, but we know that they rarely drop the Steel Bracer of Law as a second item) perhaps the "a temple researcher" also has a rare loot, in addition to the ring. Perhaps this rare loot is the tome?

Sent /bug and gm emails yesterday... this is so frustrating.

You could try handing the book to the researcher but I don't think that it would do you much good. The researchers are rare spawns for a diffferent quest (it's a research based quest, more info here ) Basically they drop a page for a book that the protector asks you to find and restore for him.

When looking at the undead tower from in front, go to the right of the tower.. near the pit.

If you notice it is nearly possible to jump from the rock to another rock further down the pit.. onto another rock further down... and onto the platform that sits "a dormant watcher."

I was unable to make the leap to the first rock.. and perished. However sow would have made a big difference.

All attempts to agro the dormant watcher have been met with "cannot see your target message" when casting from below, and OOR message when casting from the undead tower.

I think these 3 stones are made to be a stepping ladder to get to the dormant watcher's perch.
It is a leap of a guess that the dormant watcher may hold our tome.

at the least... it's another small hopegiving task to attempt until we find our solution.

Edit: another trick that will help explore the zone - agro a gargoyle by casting a powerful nuke initially.. instantly you'll be summoned to the gargoyle.. kill it in it's tracks and you'll be left ontop of the city... feel free to jump from rooftop to rooftop avoiding mobs as you search the zone from a new perspective.

The researchers are rare spawns for a diffferent quest

All the named drop various pages for that quest, that's not what I'm interested in. Allakhazam shows the drop for "a temple researcher" as Shaped Amber Ring of Soldiery, but the other named that are spawned from the constructs and gargoyles each have two pieces of loot that can drop. Does anyone know if the "a temple researcher"s have another drop besides the ring? I conjecture that they do, and perhaps that drop is the tome.

Temple Researcher also drops a robe, forget the stats and the name. When we killed it awhile back exploring the new Hole, it dropped a key and the robe.

Another dead end.

Dartain does not spawn when you get your note in Freeport.

Dartain does not spawn when you hand the note to the Oracle.

Dartain does not spawn when you talk to the Oracle's assistant.

Dartain was not at home watching TV in Paineel, Erudin, or Toxxulia this weekend. Note to self: Check palace again.

I think that Temple Researcher looks suspicious, too.

"a dormant watcher." is indifferent to me, unlike every other gargoyle. He's definitely got something going on, but I can't get close enough to hail him.
