So has anyone made HOT SAUCE yet?

I think we are taking dwarvish loot too literally, I do not believe, nor have I ever, that we needed to kill for this recipe.. I believe all ingridents are store bought or ground spawns....The "loot" in this case would be the hot sauce...

With that said let's consider a few things,
first the small fruit is in contention and I'll get to that later

the ogre's favorite juice is most likely vinegar, if not its something else easily had(ogre swill was mentioned, a few other things)

the foam of the sea captured and caked.... well mug of sea foam is off of the seafury cyclops in OOT... it's possible but probably not in its original form. Bag of Sea Salt is a foraged item

Do we have any previous Brodder suggested recipes that use a foraged item? I can't think of any off hand, if anyone else could it would be helpful... if there aren't any others, there's no reason to believe that he started now, if that's the case then it would discount both habanero peppers and the bag of sea salt...

By mixing a bit of both, with the dragon's fruit

This seems to confirm the idea(although it's surely not 100% conclusive) that the "fruit and veggies" is the dragon's fruit itself...if there are no instances of him using foraged goods before(which I'm not sure whether there are or not, need all your help on this) then it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for the recipe to use any of the following:

Habanero Peppers
Bag of Sea Salt
Fruit
Vegetables

Which all seem to be things that people are considering as part of the recipe(including myself at first).

If we are including items used in other tradeskills..

Flame of Vox needs to be tried.

I'm taking that part of the poem to read like:
"Ah, darn I have to give them another clue."
So he announces = a small bottle is needed, red and fierce, to complete the recipe.

Flame of Vox is a red bottle graphic & since it's "Flame of Vox" I would consider that to be fierce.

Just trying to think outside the box.

I still read it as the bottle of hot sauce and "this recipe" as Brodder's Revenge.... but if we go on that avenue, I believe flame of vox has been tried? Give it a go though, let us know how things turn out hehe

Hrm... if it helps any, here is a RL recipe from the net for habanero pepper sauce...

12 habanero peppers, stems removed, finley chopped
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1/2 cup distilled vinegar
1/4 cup lime juice

so hmmmm... maybe multiple peppers?

Again, not sure about the whole Luclin thing, but just thought I'd pitch in. ^_^

Edit: oooooor... even chopping the ingredients first? Habanero Pepper + Filleting Knife or something to that effect?

just browsing the posts again.. and i just realized something..Before there was Brodder's revenge, there was another recipie that was a supposed hangover cure. Somber Origins is an old world alchemy recipie that is always broken (even when the potion could be made it just gave 15 points to charisma). The recipie itself was Alkanet + Rat ear in an medicine bag. So i looked up the word Alkanet in the dictionary and discovered two things about it 1) a european plant of the borage family. 2) A red dyestuff can be made from the roots. I just thought it should be mentioned.. currently the alkanet is not tradeskill flagged.. but it might explain why it is taking so long in figuring out this recipie.

Been looking at this :Hot-n-spicy Toelings=garnish, halfling parts, spices.

So to make something hot add garnish? hmm.

I've read all the posts on this thread and tried many of the things that were asked but left unanswered and all were DNC that I came across. I'm sure I'll keep at it as will others but we might be due for a hint.
