  • 18 straight hours of DNC combines and countless hours of poking around in PoWater(SoS rogue bot) have yielded nothing useful here. Im sure Ive tried many of the same combines other have done here as well as the outlandish ones that I really had no hope of working, heh.

Hopefully, we figure this out soon. Seems like a lot of people are putting in a lot of hard work. Eventually, something will click, I have confidence! =)

    Happy Tradeskilling,

    • Hello, I'm not exactly able to follow this quest due to my flags. But I haven't seen anyone mention the fact that Bristlebane is the god of mischief. So his idea of a party platter would probably have things that would make most people sick to think about eating it. So maybe try stuff that sounds really horrible, such as that Lice Ridden Carapace. I'm sure BB would get a kick out of making a party platter out of that.

      • Rainwater Dressing attempts

Thought I'd kick some tires looking for Rainwater Dressing, tried all of the below combines in a brew barrel, a mixing bowl, and an oven, and got DNC on all

        Rain Water + Vegetable Oil
        Rain Water + Vegetables
Rain Water + Vegetables + Vineger
Rain Water + Vegetable Oil + Vinegar

I'm not too great a problem solver, but just thought I'd let people know that the Rainwater Dressing isn't made any of those ways.

most likely rainwater dressing will require moonstone tear and palm leaf oil. Unfortunately, we have yet to find Palm Leaf to make Palm Leaf Oil.

          • Thorvari,

Do you see any other "God" foods listed on your sheet? Wondering if there are others that "might" be used to create the platter, ie. Bristlebane's Party Platter = foods of the Gods. Sorry, just wondering if Karana's Heartfruit Salad has any real connection to Bristlebane's Party Platter other than being listed next to it ID-wise. /shrug

            • Any bets that Palm Leaves only exist in Marauder's Mire? =P

Anyhow...been trying a few different combines from current food. Still nothing unless it's a skill restricted combine with no message different than normal. I really think our platter is either going to be that infested carapace deal or a kraken cup.

              • I'd assume its going to be the Parasite Infected Carapace simply because you have to figure the quest text means more then "part of it is a powater drop". If she was killed by a Regrua, that should give a hint that a Regrua drop should be usable. Its possible to be one or the other, but i'd side with the Carapace. The Kraken cups drop off Kraken of course, but the Regrua are a bit deeper in powater.

                • Forty,
nope, there aren't any other "God" foods, at least that I could find with a visual search of a 18MB file. I tried searching for various god names, but there are so many entries with god names (imbued armor, etc.) that I wasn't getting any baking hits. The list I have is from mid November, and it seems to have PoP baking, tinkering, and forage items, but none of the smithing or tailoring items. It also does not have the quest items from this quest like the Signets.

The only other item I found that looked foodlike was what looks like a few Plane of Time forages:
                  12582,Timeless Quartz Crystal,Timeless Quartz Crystal
                  12583,Water of Eternity,Water of Eternity
                  12584,Rye of Eternity,Rye of Eternity

Rye is a grain, so that seems possibly food related, but that is just speculation.

                    • I don't know about this idea, but this seems like a brainstorming board so.. regarding the platter, has anyone tried an emblem with an existing pottery/smithing tray of some sort? Just an idea and maybe even a bad one at that, I don't have the flags or even the pottery/smithing skill so if someone else wants to try it out that's ok. Anyway good luck solving the quest

Enchanter and GM Jeweler, what are the chances of that?

Since everyone else lists their skills I guess I will too (probably out of date though).

                      • Saw it asked before but never answered...

Is there a skill check on the Pottery Urn + Sacred Waters combine? Has anyone failed that part of the combines?

Would be nice to know. Thanks.

                        • It's listed in here a few times but I have never heard of anyone failing that combine so it is believed to be a no fail combine.

                            • Stumbling in the dark

Wow this is a really complex quest and lots of folks have worked hard on Bristlebane's Party Platter.

Was wondering if anyone ever tried to make the Bristlebane equivalent of the sacred dust used in Xanthe's earring quest. I am nowhere close to the point where I could get any planar drops beyond first tier (and even those are mostly beyond me), but saw the recipe for the Moonstone Tear doesn't need PoP drops (or did I get the moonstone crystals in PoI? dang can't remember). Maybe the platter is made with a Bristlebane imbued peridot (just like our dear Niami could make) and some of that pesky heavy clay only found in the vicinity of RV/Misty, maybe the secret ingredient is Bristlebane dust like the Karana dust for the Lucky Cabbage.

BTW The Lucky Cabbage is a stat food with 10 CHA. Someone was speculating on combining stat foods together.
