Aid Grimel Quest

Aid Grimel says 'When we adventure in the Planes there is only one meal that keeps us in top fighting shape. It is called a Bristlebane's Party Platter. Unfortunately the platter is awkward and not easy to adventure with so you need to place them in this satchel. I know not how to make the Platter, a rather nice female Halfling cleric always used to deliver them to us but I heard she was crushed by a Regrua while hunting for a rare component in the Plane of Water. Brell bless her soul! Combine three of the platters and the signet inside the satchel.'

What other mobs are around Regrua's? What items do they drop? He said she was crushed by a Regrua, doesn't necessarly mean it comes from one. What else is in the area where they are?

I kill the named often, but don't really pay attention to the mobs names, I spend most of my time watching hp bars.... Can someone give me an idea using the named mob names where these regrua's are? I guess next water raid I let people die to scope out stuff

There is no in game recipe. None, it's not hidden on a mob, it's not from special text when you hail a goblin in runnyeye while charmed. It's just not there. The only way this will get solved is trial and error. That's *if* all the items being combined are even the right ones. There are probably one or two items that haven't been made yet, the platter for sure, that are used in the combine.

I understand hard work, but this idea of having to trial and error this quest is pretty ludicrous. For starters how many items do you have to combine? 5, 6, 7, 8? No one knows.

For the sake of argument lets say it's 8, like misty thicket picnic's. Take out one for the platter, that may or may not be used. That leaves you with seven items. The amount of combines you have to trial and error to get this recipe is staggering. You don't even know for sure what set of items to start with. Is it only pop baked items, or is there some non pop baked items.

Then you have the issue of is it only one of each item. What if one item has 2 in the combine? I just feel that this portion wasn't very well thought out as there is no clear indication of how many items are in the platter, let alone if you use a platter.

Anyway all that aside lets say there are 15 items to choose from, with 7 items making a combine (using the above, the platter is the 8th item, even though we don't know what it is or how to make it, it doesn't change anything if it isn't using 15 items), and each item is only used once.

15!/ (15-7)! * 7! = 6435 different combines. My math is probably way off here, but I don't think so. Anyway that's if it is 8 items used, and if your possible set is only 15 total items. Now since we don't even know which items might be in the combine, or how many of each might be in it, well. Were screwed.

I gotta agree, it's pretty much crap because we have nothing to go on basically. The facts that we do know are pretty useless. We can assume we will be making an item called "Bristlebane's Party Platter" and that it is giant sized. Well wow, there's no precedent as to how many items it takes in a combine to make something giant sized so it could be any number. And "Bristlebane's Party Platter" doesn't exactly tell you what should be in it either. We can sit here and conjecture all day, but unless we have like 50+ people constantly trying all sorts of combines, the blind luck approach to this will never work.

To be honest with you, I've just about had it with this quest.

Seems that a platter can also be a meal, not the actual platter itself... This leads me to think the Bristlebane's party platter is actually a set of foods... Since PoWater was mentioned in the quest text, perhaps its several different foods from water?

I've noted 4 baked foods from water.. Triloun Tail Soup, and Bucket of Crab Legs... there are two more, the halibut and snapper which are fished from water. anybody tried various combinations of these finished products? Seems quite possible that thats what we're looking for...

Weeding out some items

To narrow down the search for the recipie I found an old Jedi Trick.

Goto bazaar buy a Traders Pack put all your drops from the Elemental Planes in it. Set the price to 999999pp and put it up for trade.

Then goto your serch function in the /bazzar trader window and use the COMBINABLE tool to see if your items can be combined in a recipie or quest container.

You would be suprised what shows up and doesnt.

This isn't the Holy Grail but it can try to steer us in a better direction to the Baking recipie.

all i know is Crab Meat isnt combinable and either is bucket of crab legs

so i encourage everyone to try this out and maybe make a list and dont destroy or vender anything just in case VI decides to use something in a combine heh

Aye, good idea - as long as a) the bazaar search works correctly when checking, we all know its buggy at times... and b) none of the needed items are no drop, since you can't put no drops up for sale...

Really hoping something turns up soon, working on gathering PoW drops & fish for testing myself, just need Sol Ro flag before I'll be at that step.. still think its a bit odd that you need to bag Rallos before Sol Ro, but you can get baking step before you kill Sol Ro, who is needed for steps 5 and 6... double confirmed it after I got Rallos flag and earring 4 - dont have the flaggage for Tailoring or Fletching steps, but do have required flags for Baking step... ya'd think they'd set the quest flag progression up to match planar progression...but well...we all know that the devs don't always think things through =) And no, its not a skill restriction, all skills at 250 now cept smithing, and I'm past that step already =)

Well food stacks and it doesnt show up unless it excludes food.

Steel Boning, which stacks and is used in a quest, doesn't show up for me when I selected "combinable". /shrug

Two traders have Hobgoblin Meat (stackable/Combine) yet when I do a seach for "combinable" only one trader shows on the list.

one of the..umm... 'features' of the bazaar search is that not everything shows up...theres a limit to the number of returns on a search, which, for some odd reason, seems to vary - you can do a search for...say...blood, and see 1, or possibly no vendors for..say..storm rider blood... but narrowing the search to look for storm rider blood, suddenly 5 vendors show up... if you set all your items to an outrageously high price, then do a search for combinable items in a price range that should only include your items, then, in theory, any of your combineable items should show up, as long as you dont have too many different ones in stock...

I thought about using the "Combinable" technique before, but as I found out while doing my tailoring run, the bazaar is buggy. I would ask it to find Rockhopper and it would miss like 5 Superb Rockhopper dealers. Id ask it to find Acrylia and it would LITERALLY skip ALL the people selling small pieces of acrylia. I think there may be a Max return it can give you and anything else it just ignores. So it can list say 50 items, but the 51+ items arent displayed.

hoo boy - I see a LOT of items in that list with no known combines.... so now the question, of course, is how many of those are accurately flagged as combinable and simply have no discovered recipe......or, how many thngs they simply put a combinable flag on *just in case* they came up with a recipe later.... =)

Sad to say but Combinable via bazaar flag means nothing. There's no way all of those PoP items are usable via recipes.
