Is it also possible that it is letting him do it simply because he acquired a +15% skill mod item? That is, perhaps whatever code is used to check skill ignores skill mods of 5%?

    • i think you need a raw skill of 220 to get the dirty BP

pretty sure aid grimel ignores skill mods

at 217 w/ 15% mod he wouldnt give me the BP
      at 220 he did !

      • if your after the water from pov, get a monk to split the 2 mobs in the big building near zone in

ive only seen water drop from the "buzzlightyear" models

2 spawn in that building, easy to spilt w/ a fd'er

if a midget sized "buzzlightyear" spawns, they are flagged immune to slow and you need some steady healing

on average, id guess 1 water from 10 of them

while waiting for the 2 "buzzlightyears" to repop we pulled from the tents
best way to single them was to pull a truck load of them and root the "buzzlightyears' ... then zone .. hopefully in time to get them single before the root broke

          • 3) Sacred waters - these appear to be...umm...a feminine canine =) unless I'm totally missing an easy way to get these, ya need more than just a single group to work the camps, as the entire camp appears to be linked to the proper model dudes - monk worked for a bit the other night trying to pull em, couldn't split em off, had to clear from the outside in, which, with a pretty solid group of 65s, took nearly until respawn to clear enough to pull 2 yellow named (couldn't split) that hit 700s and were unmezzable... haven't done extensive testing on that yet, but looks like you need 2-3 groups to be able to mow through them effectively enough to get enough sacred waters in a reasonable amount of time..one group could handle it, carefully, once they get the hang of pulling and split the spawns, etc..... but those guys are rough enough that one mistake or LD, and odds are you'll get wiped or have to zone/evac, and you'll end up messing up respawn time on the mobs...... all the mobs there seem to have way too many hp for their level, exp is comparable to back caves per mob, but I'd estimate 2-3x the hp per mob, or way higher regen rate... either way, those guards take far too long to kill compared to other zone mobs that give the same exp.
This is easily doable with one group, provided you have a slower and a tank and a cleric.... OH.. AND a bard that knows his stuff... and even without a bard, can be done, you just need to pull near the building by the zone in, and have the puller use the zone out to split the guys, just hail the named "puffy armor guys" to keep them in place while the others leave Since they are all nuetral faction there is no real danger to the party while the puller zones

            • I got every part of the quest at exactly 220 when I was working on it(towards the very very beginning of it being found). The only exception to that rule was my brewing which was 250. I got each skill to 220 and would get that aspect of the quest, I couldn't get it at 219 or below with 5% mods, I don't see how someone could get the quest sub 220 with any kind of mods unless the quest was changed recently.

              • Skill of 210 plus geerlock allows you to start the quest.

A guildmate of mine and I have both gotten the dirty breastplate in the last couple of days with smithing skill of 210 plus geerlock. It seems to be a modified skill now of 220 for him to talk to you. I did first 2 parts at Smithing 210, and Brewing 212. Breastplate still trivials out at 227.

                • All right. This was obviously a stealth change then :P

                  • Stealth change, or bug? I wouldn't be too surprised if it goes back to requiring 220 unmodified skill after a future patch.

                      • This information may be redundant, but trying sorta blindly to figure this out =/ Using PoWater drops/fishing this is what I came up with. I'm not mainly a baker so excuse me if the combines aren't very sensible.

                        Resulted in DNC:
giant halibut + fileting knife in oven
giant snapper + fileting knife in oven
giant halibut + creamy fennel sauce in oven
giant snapper + creamy fennel sauce in oven
giant halibut + filleting knife + root + celandine herb in tackle box
giant snapper + filleting knife + root + celandine herb in tackle box
giant halibut steak + creamy fennel sauce in oven
giant snapper steak + creamy fennel sauce in oven
giant halibut + batwing in oven
giant snapper + batwing in oven
triloun tail soup + bucket of crab legs + giant halibut + giant snapper in oven

triloun tail soup + bucket of crab legs + giant halibut + giant snapper + giant halibut steak + giant snapper steak in oven

Now, can anyone tell me if slarghilug parts drop in Plane of Water? I assume these were from Plane of Nightmare but I could be wrong (we haven't hunted enough in PoWater honestly)

Tomorrow I'm gonna fiddle around for a few hours to try and get some sort of tray through smithing, as that could be the key part.

Another note...this may be redundant but I didn't see it posted anywhere. It caught my attention that Aid Grimel mentions the trays are too big to carry around well, so I automatically assumed they would be giant sized. Sure enough, the satchel he gives you to combine them in accepts giant sized items. Not sure that this info is really good for anything ;>

                        • Has anyone tried combining all the current PoP miraculous meals yet?
Triloun tail soup, Tormentor stir fry, Slarghilug stuffed poppers, Bucket of crab legs, Justice fruit pie, Hero sandwich, and Boar chops? Don't currently have access to all of these atm (Only at pottery step and baking skill not up to snuff yet). And if not just these maybe adding misty thicket picnic and halas meat pie.
Just thinking it probably is a combination of current foods vice a completely new set items.

                              • I've been thinking about this quest and here are a few idea's to ponder;

                                1. You need a platter, tailoring made the Baskets, maybe pottery will have the platter. I was thinking smithing but a nice glass/ceramic platter makes more sense to my pastry chef side.

                                2. You might need a drink. The MTP have a drink and the only new brewing items that are not tempers are "twice brewed constitutional" that is already used in this quest, "planar blood brew" that is in another quest but who knows, or "vegetable oil" that is old but finally has a use (I don't think it would be this).

2.1 But again my Pastry Chef mind says no drink would be on a platter, a platter is for serving, not caring around and eating off of...then again, this is EQ.

                                3. Platters are usually finger food or meals made smaller, like finger sandwichs and such, maybe we should try breaking down an item or two like "Slices of Cake" we could have "Hero Finger Sandwich" that would have 1/10th the stats of the whole.

I know it's a lot to try and do but it's better then nothing, just hope something comes from it. Good luck!
