One thing ya missed in there - priority goes to flags - if your skill is too low and you're missing the flag, he'll tell you you need more experience - Grimel will only insult your skill level if you have the proper flag already.

To throw a clog int he wheels of what i said before, my 51 Ranger went to Thrug and asked Meg about the Pure bar of Velium and Meg told it to him. The problem is the most PoP Planes I've seen is the day after it came out when I zoned into PoI and PoN, I never even left the zone in area. So I KNOW I dont have any Flags, looks like Meg only checks for level and not flags.

Actually the message you got is FACTION related, I am guessing your Ranger has good faction with the dwarves whereas the newbie dwarf you made is dubious or apprehensive at best so Meg refuses to divulge the information to the newbie dwarf.

Actually, sounds like Meg checks for faction. A dwarf heading to Thurg for the first time may not have the necessary faction to get Meg to talk to him.

                  A really odd thought...

Has anyone thought about asking Bristlebane and his party platter?

Or perhaps a related person in Plane of Mischief

No-one in a position to do this step (ie: elemental access) has any busines being within 3 zones of Bristlebane. No elementally able guild is going to mount a nToV raid just on the offchance Bristlebane might respond to a trigger phrase

Yeah uhh...you don't need a raid to get to Bristlebane.

I'm so out of the times...just learned about this quest tonight. We raid Water quite often, so I'll keep on the look out for any NPC's etc that may help...

Forgive me if this has been mentioned (although I did scan the posts about this, I may have missed it), but there are 2 green con named NPC's, Fishlord Lezom and Fishlord Craiyk.

When you hail Lezom, he says this

Fishlord Lezom says 'Be like the water Chenier. The water spirits have fortold of your coming. I am a fishlord, summoner of the dwellers of the deep.'

My impression is that they're related to the boss mob of water and not the quest.

If I'm not mistaken, the two indifferent NPC's there are part of what look's like a Caller's quest. Give them 100 plat and off you go. Although this does present another possibilty.

I talked at length with both Fish Lords, using all the hints from Aid Grimel as triggers in as many ways as I could think to do it. I cannot say with certainty that they aren't involved, but they certainly did not respond to anything I said.

Then, last night, I donned my rogue costume, fired up shroud of stealth, and slinked (slunk?) around as much of the zone as I could stand before I had to go to bed. I was very meticulous with the "regrua room" and the Kiizik (sp?) the Mighty room, and any other place that had a meaningful regrua presence. I also scoured Coirnav's lair (he's UGLY) and did a cursory examination of most of the rest of the floor in the entire zone. I did not see any groundspawns.

I have three thoughts in particular:

                                1) The 7th stage of the quest may be as-yet unimplemented.
                                2) The quest text may require high Clerics of Mischief faction (or some other faction) that virtually no one is likely to have just 'cuz--who does faction work for RV?. Later I will find out how to fix my RV cleric faction and see if this helps.
                                3) The quest may indeed involve the Plane of Mischief. I have not explored the plane, and I don't know how it works. If Bristlebane can be talked to without my getting smacked into next week, I would like to don the rogue costume again and go have a chat with him. I don't suspect it's LIKELY to involve PoM, but that was the first "Wow, I've never thought of that..." idea I've seen in the threads here.
