Iustus, it's great that you tried all the combines like that but I think you and everyone else is overlooking one thing....

    Portable Drink:
    Twice Brewed Constitutional
    Twice Brewed Constitutional
    Twice Brewed Constitutional
    Leather Signet

    Velium Blue Diamond Ring:
    Faceted Blue Diamond
    Bar of Enchanted Pure Velium
    Clay Signet

    Filled Sacred Urn:
    Sacred Water
    Sacred Water
    Sacred Water
    Wooden Signet

    Signet Featherwood Bow:
    Air Bow String
    Featherwood bow staff
    Wind Cam
    Wind Cam
    Marked Signet
All the recipes for the quest use the SIGNET, look at the last one, the Featherwood Bow. The recipe for the real bow is:
    -Featherwood bow staff
    -air bow string
    -2 Wind Cams
    -in a planar fletching kit
where the SIgnet Featherwood Bow is:
    -Air Bow String
    -Featherwood bow staff
    -2 Wind Cams
    -Marked Signet
    -in a planar fleching kit

The key difference is the Signet. I really think we have tried the recipe before just not with the signet.

Enfini, that is a good point... however, the Bristlebane Platter needs to be made first.. and 3 combined with signet in bag. You're looking at the final combines and not the prep work needed to do the final combine.

What Moosius said. Bristlebane's Party Platter is the same as Twice Brewed Constitutional in the brewing step (and I am sure it will be no drop as well).

It is very clear that the final combine is:

        Signet Party Platter: (Field Satchel)
        Bristlebane's Party Platter
        Bristlebane's Party Platter
        Bristlebane's Party Platter
        Runed Signet

(I made up the name of the combined item).

        To refresh your memory:

You say, 'I am a Master Chef'
Aid Grimel says 'When we adventure in the Planes there is only one meal that keeps us in top fighting shape. It is called a Bristlebane's Party Platter. Unfortunately the platter is awkward and not easy to adventure with so you need to place them in this satchel. I know not how to make the Platter, a rather nice female Halfling cleric always used to deliver them to us but I heard she was crushed by a Regrua while hunting for a rare component in the Plane of Water. Brell bless her soul! Combine three of the platters and the signet inside the satchel.'

Unless of course the signet is part of the platter as well as the final bag combine, and you have to do the full aerring quest to this point four times!

/dodges 500 rotten tomatoes being thrown at him

Seriously though, all those DNCs have saved us all a ton of duplicated work, so much appreciated for posting them.

Personally, I've been persuing the blind questing route rather than the blind combining route.

          Two planar NPCs of note:

          1: Name: Trissha Pettals
Found: Good Wing Middle Wing, Plane of Justice
          Race: Halfling
          Language: Halfling
          You say, 'Hail, Trisha Pettals'
Trisha Pettals says,in Halfling, 'Why!' She sobs, and covers her face with her hands. 'Why did I listen to him? Why? What [foul misfortune] is this that has descended upon me?'
          You say, 'what foul misfortune'
Trisha Pettals says,in Halfling, 'Such woeful days, of such infinite duration have I spent herein. All because I took the advice of Vanim. . . what evil tidings he brought. What lies he spread, and what a susceptible fool am I for believing him. . . ' She redoubles her tears, and you can do little to bring her around. 'Dear Rainkeeper, why?'

Second NPC is the aforementioned female halfer in the diner in PoTranq. I'm sure there's more to that building than simply flavor. The 'sick house' had a massive role to play in the main storyline plot. I find it hard to imagine the other NPCs in the zone have no role to play.

Also, I'm thinking maybe the link with Naimi's ingame character may well be more than coincidence. Mods on the safehouse got a mention when NPCs in Seru were named I believe. We all know this website is tradeskill central, so I could well believe the coders of this quest might chose to immortalise the DenMother in the ultimate tradeskill quest. Therefore I'm also keeping an eye out for resemblances to Naimi or something like that.

Soooooo frustrating to be at the forefront of a quest, then get stumped for so long.

Between work, family (wife and 2 kids), and being in a raid guild I've found very little time to actually make any meaningful attempts at combines or hails. The best I can do, at this point, is to keep throwing out random ideas in hope that someone that can spend more online time working on this can take a "stupid doesn't make sense" idea and turn it into combinable winner.

Ok, that being said I'm going to do some thinking outloud here:

We know that a Halfling Cleric was crushed looking for a rare component for the party platter. Halfling Clerics follow Bristlebane as do Gnome Clerics. Not sure if anyone has looked in Gnome town. Only other class/race that follow Bristlebane are rogues. Well, until the frogs become available.

Bristlebane's Party Platter (and the fact that the food was described as awkward) suggests that there could be a serving tray, plate or platter involved in the combine. Knowing there is a Wok, might be worth a try to replace the Clockwork Carapace with some sort of plate found in PoI, like the Metallic plate. Realizing that the Crab Cracker was something that was so easy in design that most over looked ever using the items, I can see where this might work. (I mean, really, a knuckle joint and two metal rods, so easy I would have never thought to use them.)

What about the daily news papers (or whatever they are) that some merchants sell. The one I picked up today in Rivervale was the Volume 2 Number 7 and had two recipes in it. Anyone able to review past editions from any of the Bristlebane following towns?

                Re: Bristlebane's Party Platter

With someone mentioning the link to Denmom, I had a thought... In Plane of Tranquility there's a female Halfling called Trila Cabbageroll at neg130 neg1270 who when hailed has the response.
Trila Cabbageroll doesn't seem to notice you. Her concentration is set on trying to reach the tray that rests on the table before her.
Now I've not done any stages of this quest personally, so I can't say if her response is different depending on flags/previous quest inclusion... but it's gotta be a link...

                  Yeah

I tried a bunch of different things with her
                  -Emotes
                  -Text
-Items to help her get the tray
-Items to give her a new tray

So far no luck, though I haven't tried giving her any grow potions though, hmm.

Elder Clinka, who gives the final gate talisman, has almost the exact same emote when you hail her. Something like, "Elder Clinka doesn't seem to notice you." Only when you hand her the talisman schematic does she respond. I'm guessing (if this is the right npc) that you need to have an undecipherable recipe or something to hand to her. Who knows - maybe if you hand her a bucket of crab or triloun tail soup she'll say something.

Going off of Murgatroyde's idea I tried handing Trina all the various water drops, PoP food and random items I had on me and she refused them all saying she had no use for them, to my knowledge an NPC only returns stuff if they want something for a quest so I would guess SOMEWHERE there's a tray poor Trina wants.

For the quest writeup, this is the text for completing the 6th step and turning in the bow. (1/1 on this!)

Aid Grimel says 'Masterful work Iustus! I can see your skill in the curves of the bow. Take this as a sign of my respect for your skill. The last item I need before we can be off is some food. I warn you this will truly test your skills. Do you fancy yourself a master chef?'
You will note he says, "the last item I need before we can be off". You can interperet this two different ways. In either case, this seems to be the last pure tradeskill part of the quest. It may also be the end, or there may be a final battle type thing, depending on what you think he means by "be off".

                            Odd Thought

Has anyone tried to use halfling parts in the Party Platter recipe? Odd and sick, but perhaps worth a try.

The "we" probably refers to the Councilman standing right next to him. Each of the Councilman have an Aid, you do quests for the Aid so the Councilman will eventually speak to you.
