Yeah, I dunno...thought it was somewhat interesting that the Filmy Mephit Wing was listed as Combinable in bazaar but listed as Misc in Lucy. Not that it means anything though...

Still not seeing anything that points to Bristlebane in PoP. I'd like to think that the recipe uses items or has some meaningful connection to Bristlebane.

Hehe, unless the references to Niami DenMother and to Bristlebane were suppose to lead us back to this website....maybe the developers didn't stop at just a simple nod in game and actually used some of the recipes in the Real Life recipe forum. Cheesy Pot Pie is easily done in game. I mean, let's look at the fact that it's the last recipe in the most difficult tradeskill quest in the game. She was a Halfling Cleric that followed Bristlebane. And there JUST happens to be a seperate forum devoted to real life recipes from the players. Ok, you can stop laughing now....no really, stop.

Personally, I've really enjoyed this quest, and spending insame #s of hours working on skills to do it is alot of work. However, to see it end up in an open ended recipe that has no real direction is extremely disappointing. As pointed out earlier, we really have a multitude of possible recipes, and don't know if it includes or does not include (the platter): PoP baked goods, PoP misc drops, Other zone/expansion baked goods, etc. The possibilities are so endless, that having to completely GUESS the recipe with the only hint being that ONE of possibly 5+ ingredients comes from a large list of drops in PoWater is ludacris!
Having spent obscenes amounts of time on this quest and its requirements, solo and with my guild, it would just be nice to find some source of the recipe ingame, via quested or other....or a better direction with the recipe from Aid Grimel

I guess i'm not really trying to start a rant, but more say "ahhhhh i have no clue which angle to tackle all these combine possibilities!"

even petioned and asked they said yup thats how it works ~

but on that list frog feet is that frogs feet instead? gotten 2 on mule from frogs in pow

You are correct. Should read as Frogs feet and made the change.

In the things that make you say "hmmm" catagory; I find it somewhat interesting that, with the except of Mephit meat and Pheonix Eggs, the only "food" items found in the Elemental Planes come from Plane of Water.

That gives us Mephit Meat, Phoenix Eggs and Fish Eggs that can be found in other non-Elemental zones.

Ok, there might be more I dunno. Our server went down giving me waaaaay too much free time.

Interesting thought about pointing back to eqtraders and perhaps Real Life recipes. Although the RL recipe threads have been around a long time, the web page has not, has it? Can anyone get a release date on the RL recipe pages?

And on the subject of only stackable things are combinable. Nope - lotsa things that aren't stackable are combinable, in both "regular" recipes and quest recipes. Think about all the smithing recipes that take bricks that aren't stackable. Think about all the tailoring recipes that used to use non-stackable pelts before they were stackable. Snow bunny meat - not stackable but as we all know a delicacy of them frozen dwarves...and so on and so on.

Hehe, well I was kinda joking although I fully realize that this sort of thing happens all the time.

Only thread I could find was The REAL Misty Thicket Picnic started Jan. 2, 2003, although I'm pretty sure there was another thread devoted to the recipes that were eventually used for the forum.

While the start of the quest might have been in-game long before the thread(s) started doesn't mean it couldn't have finished with these recipes or was changed to reflect them.../shrug

Wish grimel would just give us some idea of wtf was on the platter. I mean he obviously ate the **** things he should atleast know what types of food, if it had a tray or not, if it had a drink or not etc.

Doesnt have to tell us the exact method of preparing each item on the platter....but if we atleast knew wtf was on it that would be somethign to go on, nailing a recipie at a time....

Even somethign like "Im not sure how it was prepared, but it consisted of 4 different food items and a drink, served on a silver tray"...would be immensely helpful at this point.

Even that would be a bit vague and still leave us thousands of possibilities.....but right now we have nothing.

On a practical note....we know that there is no direct recipie in game. But, anyone ever ask your SOE contacts if there is a general form of the recipie in the game(IE 3 types of hero meat for hero sandwitch).

And if the answer to that is no, any way to get some convincing in ther eto get us some hint of wtf to do in the game?

Quests with no direction are not fun! Especially knowing the track record for broken quests / drops / triggers etc.

Looking at the DNCs, I think the guessing is going a tad off kilter at the moment. A party platter suggests finger food. Sooo...is anyone willing to try combinations of the following:

Bucket of Crab Legs
Buttered Crawdad
Candied Cockroach
Slarghilug Stuffed Poppers
Swamp Rat Crunchies
Hero Sandwich
Mephit Sandwich

(And some maybes)
Cracked Reruga Meat
Smoked Hero Parts
Spiced Hero Parts
Dressing.

Nothing else sounds even remotely like finger food, especially when you consider the ingredients. I'm guessing just as much as anyone else here, but I think scanning all planar drops for combinability is a bit excessive.

Are you serious? If so that leaves two possibilites.

(1) Someone that develops the emulator played a sick joke and decided to make a fake one with ridiculous stats to screw with us.

or (2) the platter in game is gonna require something insanely rare, as to keep people from actually eatting these, heh.

3 sacred waters + signet in the urn

is this combine no fail ? or does it use pottery skill and is trivial > 250 ?
