19 pages is a bit too long of a post, going to see if i can sort through this thread and consolidate the information as it is and ask Den Mom to scrap this one, starting to have way too much trouble sorting through what is DNC what hasn't been tried and what the emulator/bin number diggers are coming up with.......gimmie some time or someone else jump on it ! and please reserve this for The Baking part of the quest only as at this point Den Mom and the crew have done a wonderfull job of updating the mainboard.....and really all any of us care about is finding the secret ham sammich, does it take gouda or aged cheddar isn't the question, what list of DNC's have you tried is !

Nothing wrong with spinning off onto a new thread for the DNCs though; just keep a very tight rein on the thread.

Part 2: Brewing.
Skill Requirement: Between 218 Brewing and 224 Brewing. Skill modifiers are ignored

I tried to do this with 218 skill in brewing, didnt work. Ones I equipped my geerlock he gave me the barrel.

So the skill mod is not ignored.

maybe you should read the whole thread, aid grimel ignored skills mods long ago, but since then was changed for god knows why

Aid Grimel and mods were patched on test recently. I was working on tailoring last week and he would not recognize me as being skilled enough from 210-219 (with mod). Just finished fletching step a few days ago and tried mods early on as well and nada. Had another friend try to start the quest with 215 smithing and mod, same result, "You are not skilled enough".

Part 3: Jewelcraft.

Skill requirement: Between 177 skill and 225 Jewelcraft skill. (220 Raw skill assumed)

Flag requirement: Saryrn.

I have both Saryrn and Bertox flag and Aid G. tells me that "While you do have some knowledge of the Planes, you are lacking what I require for any further tasks." 220 + 5% in JC.

I'm guessing that you need Keeper of Sorrows (a preflag for Saryrn) for this because the Saryrn flag alone does not cut it. (I don't have the keeper flag).

Until you have Keeper of Sorrow, you don't really have the Saryrn flag. It's in a "dormant" state that will be activated once you a) get KoS and b) unlock your memories.

the item number doesn't seem to match what we've seen with other things that we think are related but who knows whats going on.


As far as the flags goes saryrn is the key flag. WIth out bert, keeper, grummus and terris thule tho that flag is an out of order flag and incompleate. Dormant is a pretty good way to think about it. The game still knows you killed saryrn but with out all the stuff leading up to it, it isn't good for anything.

I don't think anyone that's even remotely interested in doing this quest attended FF over the weekend. Doesn't seem like it anyway... =/

personally im glad if they take out mods effecting aid grimel, 210-227 smithing = bind at grimel gate to pok and clean mass bp's for easy skill ups, not in line with the insanity of this quest.

I was at FF and when ever I brought up the platter I got a lot of smiles and no answers :?

I didn't find this Fan Faire as good as the Boston Fan Faire. In Boston, there were Trade skills, Class discussions as well as developers panel and one regarding guilds... a few others that I can't think of right now. Anyway, needless to say, this Fan Faire was the sucky in regards of spending 89$ (100+ since I am Canadian) for something that had no perks. Congrats me on a 100$ CAD t-shirt :shock:

There was a whole lot of advertisment about EQ2 and EQOA. It was just very disapointing since I didn't pay to learn more about a game I will never play..

Anyway, sorry guys, I tried but it seems no one there seemed to care It seems all those who did care moved on to better things
