      • Did they break the Ghoul spawn with the last patch? I have now destroyed all of oasis for 5 hours straight and not one **** ghoul.

        This is getting real old real fast.

        • There were a couple of times when I didn't see the ghoul for about that long, then I'd suddenly get 2 or 3 in the next hour. That camp is the DEBIL and I will NEVER do it again *nod*

              As for Bloodfiend, this is a bish. I have been at the camp for 15 - 20 cycles and it sucks, haven't seen him once. BUT I am a paitent man, I camped VSR for my druid for over 60 hours straight.

              I couldn't find it ANYWHERE in the dozen or so sites and links I found about this quest, so here it is: The LOC for Bloodfiend spawn is pos 66 neg 232. Only way I could confirm it was when a Ranja came up and said DOH you have my camp :-).

              It was on page, oh, 12 or so of this thread (a long time ago basically).

              I decided to take this opportunity to PL my wife’s Pally from 64 to 65. We started Wednesday at 9% into 64 and ended up yesterday at 6% into 65, so that part was all good. The map linked above is perfect, except that it is missing the location of 2 named spawns. The Tae Ew Convert spawns at the green dot just SE of the ‘B’ (Tae Ew Trapper) and the Envenomed Hunter (spider model) spawns as the first spider in the 3-spawn just south/south-west of the Bloodfiend room.

              For those who get REALLY bored doing this camp, here’s one thing to do (what we did). I am a 65 cleric, she is (now) a 65 pally. We would get KEI and whatever else we could dig up in PoK, book down to the Feerrott and use a stack of Kilva’s Skin of Flame (I think that’s the one). I would pacify-pull the Bloodfiend PHolder, then kill the Raptor spawn between us and the exit. Then I could pacify pull the Envenomed Hunter PHolder, then the Tae Ew Hunter PHolder. Then move on the Toxiferous and Enraged Tiger Raptor PHs. Then we would kill the lizard between us and the Dreadfang spot, then kill it. She would then set up at the Wizzy spires and I would pull the Bloodfiend PHolder (which had just respawned) to there. We would then move on, clear the 2 spiders at the Toxic Jungle Spider spawn, pull all three lizards in the Trapper/Convert room (sometimes keep the third one up for time purposes).

              Then we would kill the 2 spiders in the Poisonstrand hunter room, then the 2 spiders in the Noxious Jungle Spider area. At which point we would head back to the Bloodfiend.

              This whole process would take 3 charges of our DS potion and would clear every single Placeholder in the maze (and there are a lot). It would also take 1 charge of our GVDs due to running back to the Bloodfiend spot.

              Originally we were just doing the Bloodfiend/Hunter/Tox/Enraged cycle, but that got old after 3 days so I expanded our hunting. When this started, we didn’t even KNOW where the Envenomed Hunter spawned, so we didn’t kill those spiders, but I wanted to find out so we started clearing them (plus I need one more Spinechill Ichor Vial to make a robe).

              Over the 5 days (well, evenings, and Sat/Sun day) we got:
              6 Bloodfiend Spawns – 2 Stone Hammer of Havocs, 2 Tae Ew Bloodletters Swords, 2 Sanguine Tomes
              5 Tae Ew Hunter Spawns – 3 Rubicite Staves and 2 Barbed Ringmail Leggings
              1 Envenomed Hunter Spawn – 1 Envenomed Mask of Hunting
              4 Toxiferous Spawns – 4 Toxiferous Axes (or maybe 5 spawns, not 100% sure)
              6 Enraged Tiger Raptor Spawns – 4 Battered Explorer’s Sandals, 1 Striped Raptor Hide Boots and 1 Raptor Hide Cap
              0 Dreadfang Spawns
              1 Toxic Jungle Hunter Spawn – 1 Spiderfang Earring (blech, wanted the ID 3 cap)
              1 Tae Ew Convert Spawn – 1 Prelate’s Rubicite Helm
              5 Tae Ew Trapper Spawns – 2 Barbed Rubicite Bracers and 3 Raptor Hide Bracelets (or maybe only 2)
              2 Poisonstrand Hunter Spawns – 2 Envenomed Necklaces
              0 Noxious Jungle Spider Spawns

              Plus about 8 Spine Chill Silks and 30-odd Tae Ew Blood Vials

              Oh yeah, and I got 5 AAXP points during this time.

              I got the first tome on day 3. But was having a good time PLing the wife and I decided to stick it out until she dinged (already had all her spells, so she was ready to go). Day 5 someone who had wanted the spawn the day before, and I said I would give it to, decamped but had to go attend a guild raid (after I offered the camp to her, wife had already dinged). Next Bloodfiend dropped the second book. That book will, hopefully, morph into a Firebone Notebook for me.

              This camp IS soloable for a cleric reasonably EP decked out like me. Or even VT level gear. And someone many pages back pointed out that the placeholders for the Bloodfiend are a much bigger problem, specifically the disciples. Oh I hate them so. If you see the Bloodfiend spawn, and he has one of his common drops, you will see it. Both the sword and the hammer are visible. If he has nothing, congrats.

              Oh yes, and if you do decide to kill all the mobs like we did, one thing to remember. The Tae Ew Hunter RUNS. Yup, no one else in the maze does, but he takes off like a bullet. This can be ‘very bad’..;-) As another warning, the only mobs in the maze that see invis are the nameds and the ‘large hunter’ spider models. They also have a large agro range (the spiders) so be very careful when checking on a spider.

              Anyway, have fun with this camp. If you only kill the Bloodfiend PHolder you will be very bored. But if you expand your hunting you might find yourself having a good time..;-)

                Could a EP/VT geared wizzie solo this mob/camp? I could two-box my wifes Ranja... (or even drag her down there with me! what a concept!)

                And does anyone have any info like this for the chardok and PoD books?

                • Bloodfiend camp is easy and hard at the same time. If you have pacify/harmony you're set. Otherwise it can get tricky. The Bloodfiend himself is easier than his PHs of which he has two. The Tae Ew Warder and Tae Ew Disciple. The warder is a warrior who hits for 200s and hits fast. As a 65 Ranger I have to root and shoot unless I get lucky and somehow land a slow on him. Even then I have to heal myself to full at least once depending on when I slowed him. The disciple is 10x worse though. He's a cleric who at 50% will start to instaheal himself for 7% health. He does this roughly every 7-8 seconds though I haven't timed it. You can NOT interrupt this. Assuming I don't proc my 150dmg proc, I can do about 8% damage to him before he heals himself again. He doesn't hit hard, but as you can see doing a net gain of 1% per heal rotation gets old. Nukes help alot and that's the only way I can outdamage his heal. Two people will have no problem, but for the 65 wizzy you might have problems just because there's no room to kite, so if you can get nukes off while he's beating on you you're in luck. Hard to say what disciple's hps are since he heals so often. Tae Ew Warder probably has around 12k I'd say. All mobs summon so be ready to get beat down at least a few times. The Bloodfiend is a necro who likes to dot everyone in the area before he melees, so compared to the others he's cake.

                  Chardok isn't too hard, but does require a necro. Since I can't recall the exact method to get to the castle, I'll just start from the castle. After entering it from the locked door you can go left, straight, or right. Go straight and be invis. Nothing should see through it. You'll pass around 6-8 mobs (I forget which) to which it forks left or right. Go left and turn the corner. On you left a little ways down will be a locked door. Open that door and continue through it to the other side. Start checking for see invis mobs before you pass through it though. Once you get to the other side, be careful that no one aggros the mobs you just invis'd past as they can aggro through the wall. Anyway, you are now in the library. On the top floor (where you currently are) there are roughly 3-4 mobs, kill them all. Now have your puller go downstairs and start pulling the ones downstairs. Roughly 5-6 mobs down here so be careful! Lotsa casters down there that can break FD. The Chardok book drops on this lower floor. Looking at the door behind the staircase (That leads to Queen and King eventually), the spawn on the left side of it is Loremaster Piza'Tak who drops the History of the Di'Zok. It's his common. Also the mob that drops the Chodikai Vocal Cords spawns at the same spot though a lot rarer.

                  The Firebone Notebook imho is one of the easiest to get. Get a high end Pally/SK or a decently equipped Warrior for defensive and make your way up the castle in PoD. Once you get to the top floor you'll run into 4 guardians and Gryme. Gryme is a 67 mob who is a warrior that can't be slowed and has a pretty weak AE DoT. Gryme is hard, but with a group he's not too bad. Use your disc's on him instead of Aramin. He hits for 800s and I think tripples. Kill him and loot his key. Now go up the steps he was pulled from and open the door. Kill the mobs inside and set up camp in the first room you come to inside the room. Have the puller start pulling the mobs from the ajoining rooms until you get to the room prior to Aramin. Here's where it gets fun. Two mobs are next to Aramin. Bring you group up to two rooms before Aramin. The next room is where you should see Aramin and the next room actually has Aramin. Have the puller pull the two mobs (or pacify one and get it on the next round) that guard Aramin and kill them. The puller will get dotted by Aramin, but since he's permarooted it won't matter. Now it looks like only Aramin is left right? Wrong. There are about 3-4 mobs behind him that will aggro if you get too close, so here's what I did. I got the monk to target Aramin through the cobwebs and jolted him giving me aggro. I went back to my group and sat down to keep me on the hate list. Now the monk could just run by Aramin without him getitng beat down. I pulled all the mobs behind him in one pull and brought em back to my group and killed them. Now only Aramin is left. Have your slower get him targetted and slow him before engaging. Now just go up and kill the slowed bastard and he's dead. Once he dies, IMMEDIATELY have the evac'er cast evac while someone else loots the corpse else the 8 baby spiders will wipe your group. If possible, if you have a pally have him heal the evac'er so they all aggro him and not interrupt the evac. The book is about a 1 in 3 drop. If you don't get the book, just have whoever looted the key die and keep it on his corpse (it's no rent). That way you can bypass Gryme by just pulling him away from the door with a monk or whatever and letting everyone go by him. Good luck on your books!

                      I'd imagine your ranger and you should be fine. Harmony should allow you to single pull the room and then between the 2 of you the mob should die fast enough. With out a healer or slower I'd expect some down time and probably not able to do much more than clear the 3 in that room and a couple others but the 2 of you should be ok.

                      Personally I've actually soloed the 3 spawns in the bloodfiends room. As a shaman I don't have any form of lul or harmony so what I did was start off by rooting one and then used aa root to park another. Then slowed the one on me and the 2 rooted ones. The fight was a bit tough because there was both a cleric and a shaman in the bunch and they healed up but I was able to dot up the cleric and then nuke him down. Not an easy solo but I was able to do it. Usuaully I do it with my 65 shaman and my roommates 65 warrior. The 2 of them handle it pretty easily and can do several of the named/phs around there. If I invised around some or used the right pull paths I could probably do 7 or 8 of the named with the 2 of them.

                      As far as other stuff goes Velks is a bit interesting. Did him with 7 people all pretty well equiped. We had from memory warrior, shaman, cleric, enchanter, mage, wizard and a ranger. All elementally geared. Even with tash and malos on velks I never managed to slow him with turgurs or with disease based slow. I didn't get an immune msg so he should be slowable but he is highly resistant. Might be doable with a bard around too but I'm not gonna count on it. Velks hits for 800, pretty quickly since he isn't slowable and doesn't miss much. DPS wise I'd put him right up there with one of the single group mini's from the elemental planes but since he has a ton of hps he ends up being a tougher fight. My recommendation would be 2 groups for this with at least 2 good healers and a good tank. Melee dps prefered since velks is some what resistant to caster dps. Also note he has 2 unmesable golems with him. Since we had no way to split we just pulled all 3 charmed one and killed the other.

                        Also, here's an updated Magelo listing. I filled in some gaps and made my guess on a few that weren't in the database, but there's three that I can't figure out (55300-55302). My guess is they are the the exchanges the Guardian gives out, but since no one is willing to risk their robe or tunic (which considering the phylacterys and robe/tunic can be exchanged over and over I doubt this is any different guys), we'll never know...

                        • I seriously doubt they are robe/tunic exchanges. Remember that that was added AFTER the quest was put in, because people complained about getting the wrong chest item.

                          Most likely they are the alternate Phylacteries.

                              im full EP geared(not including timeless) wizard and u can solo this camp...just gotta be creative.
                              you have serveral options.
                              1. you can root 2 and kill the 3rd tank style gate root 1 kill the other ect. this method sucks if u have to kill the melee style mobs.
                              2. i prefer this way- pull 1 with snare while it and the other 2 run over, cast abscond...gate back to CT your snared mob is now split and single
                              load all of your stuns, the works telekin markers tishans discords and clashes. nukes are (oops edit i guess i cant say that word) not good for dmg but the mob never moves casts or hits you
                              rinse and repeat the camp is broken
                              note- the large hunters and named are higher lvl and cannot be stunned by the entire line. i think markers discord and telekin still land but u will need to tank solo this. consider summon kiting. if you ahve ever solo'd pre revamp PoM you know what i mean. if not snare root rune nuke root rune nuke root rune ect or improvise as necessary.
                              if u want to bot the ranger u can root the named on ranger and WS or just tank it with ranger if gear is good.

                              note: i can tank solo partly cuz of gear and partly cuz of AA so do this at your own risk, i have too many AAs and i know it oh well, it happens

                                You have 700 mana 1000 hp and 200 aa on me. Doesn't mean I couldn't solo it, but thats a pretty big gap.
