I was able to duo the CT camp with my wife (65 ranger). NO luck with drops tho. It is rather hard to drag people to this place...

      Hello there,

For the bloodfiend camp, I'm pretty sure that an enchanter can solo it. You can invis to the camp spot, and there is a relatively safe place for one to sit in line of sight of the camp. There are only three mobs to break up, thank goodness for pacification. The ONLY problem that you could possibly have is if a caster spawns. I'm not certain if they are under level 55, so you might have to use your higher level stuns (hrm.. are there any? I think I might be getting my cleric spells mixed up with my enchanters) in order to interrupt, otherwise it will be relatively painful because of the slows and dots they like to hurl at you.

All in all, if you are careful and attentive (and have spells that can interrupt 55+ mobs, I'd double check but I'm at work), you should be able to hold this camp easily. And from your post, it seems that patience and attentiveness isn't what you are lacking.

Good luck, and hope this is helpful!

      • In theory a chanter could solo this camp, but I probably wouldn't believe it till I saw it. The Warder PH is doable simply because he's a pure meleer, and once slowed even an enchanter pet x3-4 could kill him I bet. The Disciple PH might be slightly harder simply because it's a cleric mob who CHs, and has his instaheal for around 700hps every few seconds (once he hits 50% health). I'm not too familiar with enchanter nukes, but if you can do about 1kdmg every 10 seconds, you should just be able to outdamage the punk assuming he doesn't CH on you. Bloodfiend is actually highly MR, so he might resist some initial slows/nukes. He's also a dot fiend, so hopefully the chanter wouldn't die to dots.

        • No tnexus, the Bloodfiend camp is not chanter soloable.

Unless we have unlimited mana and no refresh on our nukes.

          • lol. Okay, maybe I'm being optimistic. I'll try it out with my enchanter sometime, but two against one so far, so I suppose you shouldn't listen to me.

Tnexus wasn't claiming enchanter's could solo it. I was. I admit that I haven't tried it, and was theorizing. I've done the camp with company, and with my cleric.

Will post again if I can prove it.

            • i'd say a chanter could technically solo it, probably wouldnt be effective in any way shape or form but doable yes.

i've seen more outrageous things than that.
pre elem/pre VT might be pushing it though, but test it out and be creative you never know.
not that it really matters but i think the green pools that spawn in maze are charmable.

              • Er, what green pools in maze? Your server might call something else the maze, but in what most servers call 'the Maze' (the area that is, well, a maze with the wizard spires) there are no pools. There are Lizards, Spiders and Raptors...

                • Bloodfiend and Chest Turn in

                  One Comment and One Question:

Concerning CT. The camp itself isnt that hard if you're a pet class and can get a druid/ranger/cleric/enchie friend to help you break the camp via paci. Just pull the Lizards out of the spawn room and into the clear entrance passage that you come through to enter the 3 spawn area. As long as you have a mount and a semi-decent mana pool (mine's not uber) and space the spawns apart you should be fine. I FINALLY got my book. Bloodfiend spawned first with the sword and then again about 3 cycles later with the book : )

Question: Ok, I believe pure casters were able to hand in a priest thurg bp/tunic with their turn ins and they would get their Oracle Robe back. Has this changed in any way with the November patch?? I'm getting close to finishing this quest and would rather not have to find out the hard way Any info would be appreciated.

they drop some quest piece if i remember right
yes, in the maze (the one around wizard spires)
i think they spawn randomly after you kill some of the lizards, but it might only be during the protect the gnome sequence, i dont remember for sure.

                    • chanter theory

hehe the argument got me thinking...

Technically a chanter prolly could solo the bloodfiend spawn... if they used the right tactics....

One tactic that could possibly work would be pacify the 2 other lizards at the camp. Mez the PH. tash the PH, Slow the PH. Now starts the cycle.... Load biggest nuke. Nuke it, Mez it, Nuke it, Mez it, Nuke it, Mez it... etc.... Might wanna pull it away a bit from the other mobs. But should even be able to kill the cleric ones since the mez will stop the CH

of course this is just a theory... and I'm no chanter...

                      • That's pretty much exactly how I did the sirens in CS way back when I was doing the 6th shawl. Not sure if that would work here for lack of room for movement, and also not sure if I have the mana pool for it, even if it's theoretically possible. Each cycle would be Dazzle and Insanity, 425 mana, minus 10% for Mana Preservation, total of about 388 mana.

I remember someone saying that both PHs had about 12K hit points. So assuming no resists, that's 11 casts of Insanity; add one more (at least) for regen during the fight. So that's 388 * 12 = 4656. That's a bit over my mana pool. With mana regen during the Dazzles (or with a mount), I could do it, but if I needed to refresh my rune or the slow (which I almost certainly would have to), that would probably tip the balance. I'm sure there are chanters out there that could make it work, but I'm probably not that chanter.

I checked out the camp last night for a bit; in the relatively short period of time I had, I wasn't able to find a location nearby that wouldn't have had multiple adds if I so much as dropped invis (and I certainly wouldn't have had a chance to start pacifying). I didn't check from every direction, though, because I ran into a see-invis spider and died, and got called to a raid before I could get started again. More investigation will be necessary, though I'm a bit more dubious now about the prospects.

                        • /sigh

I don't like bursting bubbles, but I really have to put my foot down on the thought that chanters might be able to solo the camp. No, a chanter cannot solo the camp. Please stop toying with the idea. You HAVE to drag someone else along. You want someone to solo the camp, grab a ranger.

Simple basic math, with the 12 or so Insanities claimed. 12 x 300 = 3600.

Average 65 enchanter would PROBABLY have around 4k mana or so.

                          Arcane Rune costs 400 mana.

                          Forlorn Deeds costs 225 mana.

Let's be nice and say they double for 100 each hit.

Given our paper mitigation, I'd say we'd get nailed on for full damage.

Let's be nice and say you get hit for 200 total each set of hits, once before Insanity casts, and once after Insanity casts, instead of saying you get hit in between and have to worry about channeling it now. 24 x 200 = 4800 damage. 4800 damage/1500 = 3.2 casts of Arcane Rune...we'll round it down to 2 and use the extra as the ER rune. So 2 x 400 = 800 mana.

So far, our total mana before any mana savings is 4625. I'll be nice and apply the 20% mana savings to Insanity from the gloves to the entire thing, even though that's not very likely to happen...that's 3700 mana, assuming you only needed to slow on pull.

This is ignoring all other spells that you'll probably want to cast in the meantime, like the 2-3 Pacify spells (there's a spider near the camp that has a pretty big aggro range). This also ignores relying on the pet, which will slooooooooooooooowly chip away at the lizard, but tanks just as badly as a green mob. Please get a ranger to try soloing experiments here. Most importantly, it ignores any DoTs that land on you, which cannot be blocked by Rune if they start damaging you. Please don't drag a chanter. A lot of the theories thrown out aren't even looking at spell costs. PLEASE look at them.

You still get the appropriate item. I turned in a Cleric SS BP and got a robe.

Yeah, those little blobs can only spawn when you kill a brown lizard (and a normal one at that, not the ones near the little mini-temple in the maze). Since those only spawn in the maze during the Walk the Gnome to his Rightful Death event, that would be the only time you could try to charm one.

Otherwise, killing browns anywhere else they happen to spawn in zone will work (to spawn the blobs, no clue if they can be charmed).

                              • I'd like to see the wis / int added to each of the rewards and the classes combined so that the clerics who want to wear robes can and the int casters who want the leather look can have that too.
By Karana please I would love this. This is the only reason I haven't been looking to do this quest more seriously.. I hate robes.
