I turned the 6 books to get my Tunic yesterday.
Some anwers to a few questions:
. You can turn an augmented velious BP, you will still get the tunic.
. The cleric tunic doesn't have an augment slot (nor the robe I guess).
. Upon turning a thurgadin cleric BP ("forbidden rites") and the Token of Service, I received the Grand Tunic of the Oracle, so no need to turn a robe to the Guardian to receive the cleric tunic.
. The decorated box is given upon turning the 6th book. In the text you have "[way]". If you say "what way?" the assistant tells you to seek the halfling for the reward, however you already got the box. Therefore, do not destroy the box or you would need to turn a copy of Velketor's book again to get a new one.
. To give you an idea of the difficulty of the mobs, the bloodfiend and its PHs can be soloed by a 65 cleric (average gear but 140 AA). I also soloed the Loremaster in Chardok, but for that you need the proper faction and a rogue to open the first locked door. I was about to try The Hole solo but got the book to drop with a group before.Estrella is easily soloable of course.

Was thinking Morter and Pestle but would not hold to the same sort of form to the previous combines (eg most of the previous ones required a pattern - except for the box one (step 7)
Only 3 "tradeskills" not represented so far are Fishing, Research and Poisoning. I dont see how poisoning could be involved for all classes other than via the Mortar and Pestle but no skill check would be required.
Research would make most sence - perhaps we are to etch onto the crystals with something?
Its kind of nebulous no where to start....

Actually, Baking was not used in the quest at all. No idea how they would squeeze that in here tho. Also, doubt it would be any class-specific skill, since the Mana Crystals are NO DROP. Also, not sure it would be research, since only casters can do that, not priests.
Sorry, if I missed a post, there's a lot to go thru... but, has anyone tried handing in the Phylactery or the Mana Crystals to the Note giver in FP (Sir Artanis)? Or th evil guy too I guess.
If that doesn't work, I would bet this is simply the first quest in a series and quest #2 is still being put together (not yet in game). Similar to the Coldain Rings and Shawls series, that were implemented in stages.

Regard multiquesting:
I forgot to mention this with my first post. When I did the final turn in of the Token of Service and my Thurg robe, there was no quest exp or the quest reward sound (ie the AA one). He just simply said "Your promised reward" and put the robe on my cursor.
This may be a new method of quest completion, in an effort to do away with multiquesting (though some people have posted they MQed it without incident). In any case, I thought I'd mention it (if someone else has already posted this, sorry for the double post).
Just letting you know.

couple of questions....
1. Can you do the book portion of the quest, get the robe, then later down the road do the phylactry without having to get the books again, or do you have to do the tradeskill portion at the same time you do the robe portion?
2. Is anything in CT Charmable? I was in there the other day with aspirations of soloing bloodfiend camp, but everything was flagged non-charmable that I tried.

I have no clue about charming stuff in CT, but to answer the tradeskill question: You do not have to do the combines right away. You can do the book turn-ins, get your Token of Service, and get your Grand Robe / Grand Tunic while completely ignoring the Phylactery combine.
If you wish, you can save the no-drop tradeskill containers and make the phylactery at some later time. If you have no interest in tradeskills (Blasphemy! Shock! Horror!), you can safely destroy the tradeskill components he hands you -- keep the Token of Service, though!Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade
