New Oracle Quest

i read over the note given to me by sir artanis in freeport and looked at a copy of the note that begins the quest for the evil races. the notes are exactly the same.
seeing how i was out of ideas regarding the mana crystals and whatnot i figured why not. Kamett requests 10 thousand funds in his note. i have no clue who kamett is but i figured since sir artanis had the note i might as well try it.
you can save your money...

sir artanis simply pockets the 10k and walks off oops
killing him yielded 5 silver and some coppers though

I've been wondering who the hell this Kamett person is since I started this quest.

Something I'm rather curious about is about the MQ. Since it seems melee aren't flagged to get the robe/tunic, it makes me wonder that when a melee hands in the token, Roatin then plans to hand out the melee item which doesn't exist. This would mean that whoever hands in the chestpiece is therefore going to get the nonexistant melee chestpiece. Basically, has any caster tried to MQ the token with another caster?

A little more info I dug up while looking into things, the text in the Letter for the Oracle is identical to the note you receive during the SK epic by killing Kurron Ni. Somebody was just sloppy I think when they needed a new note and pulled that one as a template to use. The Duriek in the note is of course Duriek Bloodpool, in Paineel who you give the SK note to (it's called Letter to Duriek.) I went to check if Duriek takes the note, but he wasn't up.

I also tried handing the phylactery to Valeron Dushire, as someone else mentioned. I tried bombarding him with phrases about Marnek, the Burning Dead and the phylactery and got kinda excited when he actually responded to "Who is Marnek?", but unfortunately it's quest text for The Bones of Darak Lightforge, the quest that results in Divine Might.

You say, 'Who is Diggs Duggun?'
Valeron Dushire says 'According to this crest on the tunic, you have recovered one of the bones of a lost Paladin [Hero].'

He responds to any "Who is..." statement with the beginning piece of this quest.

Token of Service

How can i get another Token?
I have tried saying what way? to the assistant and no go.
Do I have to hand the assistant another Velk's book?
Or
Now that Raotin has already taken my token can I just give him the tunic or robe?
any ideas?

I have petitioned to get my token back, but it has gone unanswered at this point.

Tome of Miragul

Just yet another confirmation on where to hunt and where not to hunt to spawn the ancient construct for the Tome of Miragul.

Spent close to 4-5 hours killing 'A broken Construct' from the bottom of the hole up to Jaeil the Wretched. While the pops were fast and the exp / cash good (even at lvl 65) we were unable to spawn 'An Ancient Construct'.

After reading this thread a little closer we moved up towards the city and cleared a few constructs inside the building to the north tunnel leading to Jaeil the Wretched. After clearing those, we started to go back down to the bottom to repeat the spawn. Because of a rather spectacular train we managed to die but on the way back to get the corpses what had spawned in the city? 'An Ancient Construct'. Dropped a hat and the tome. /gate

So, in summary. If you are hunting for the tome, setup right at little courtyard with the pool of water-- just up from Jaeil the Wretched. Pull 'A Destroyed Construct' from the building to the north and wait for the spawn. Good luck.

Since it was a MQ you're screwed, a GM won't reimburse you for that. You're gonna have to hand in another Velk's book to get another Token.

That's where we camped too, top of Jaeil's tunnel, pulled the buildings and library. < 4 hours got 6 tomes. One ancient construct was the wanderer there, not exactly sure which building the others came from.

If you mess up (like me) and hand in a BP that is not a robe or tunic class, you CAN hand in a velk's book for another Token of Service. The Warrior BP from Thurg DOES NOT work. /smirk
I handed Raotin the Token of Service and a Shammy Thurg BP.

the broken golem is your problem. Ancient's can only spawn in place of ruined mobs, not broken. The courtyard above the tunnel to Jael is the best place I've seen for drops. There's about 20 ruined spawns in that general area.

In case anyone else was as curious as I was from my previous post... Duriek Bloodpool won't take the Letter to the Oracle. Would have been a nice goof for SKs if he had, you need like 900p plus three armor pieces to continue the SK epic at that point.

Broken Golems and such

Actually falkah, there are several places that say the Broken Golem are the PH's, but what you are saying makes sense, only time I have gotten the Ancient was in the old city after I killed a Ruined.

As for Bloodfiend, this is a bish. I have been at the camp for 15 - 20 cycles and it sucks, haven't seen him once. BUT I am a paitent man, I camped VSR for my druid for over 60 hours straight.

I couldn't find it ANYWHERE in the dozen or so sites and links I found about this quest, so here it is: The LOC for Bloodfiend spawn is pos 66 neg 232. Only way I could confirm it was when a Ranja came up and said DOH you have my camp :-).

It's only 'a ruined construct's that can spawn the ancient. Any ruined construct, anywhere. The wanderers, the ones in the library, the ones in the building to the south, the ones where the Flighty guy is.

No other kind of construct will spawn the ancient.
