Oracle Quest

As far as the velious armors go, were the bp's non quested when turned in, or were they quested? Sorry if I missed someone saying it, quickly looked through the pages and failed to see anyone mentioning it.

They're the quested version. IE: Sage's Robe (yes) instead of Torn Enchanted Silk Robe (no)

After massive paladin killing and lots of cyclops eyes I'm warmly to the evil Opal Darkbriar... and she refuses the phylactery and mana crystals.

ok - play on stromm so most people didn't have the books prior to the quest, or if they did, not many.

in auction, a lvl 25 ranger claimed to have both phylacteries. I asked him if he really did the quest 2x. He told me yes.

He then proceed to say that he did the quest (robe and phylacteries) in 2 hours, and had to wait to complete the second one.

one - I find this extremely hard to believe that this is possible - he claimed it was post nerf.

two - he claimed his ranger could use both.

thre - he's claiming for 200k he can show people how to have zero tradeskills and do this quest.

Now I've searched and searched and cannot see a loophole here. And if there is one, I want it sewn up tight as Aramin and the Ghoul are driving me batty!

This is a great quest and people who put in the time (imo) should get the reward. Granted, I wish the ghoul would be more frequent, but such is life.

I suspect this guy is linking stuff from other people and that there is no way of MQ the phylactery. But I still find it strange he would tell me he could use both phylacteries, when the last patch message changed it, so rangers shouldn't be able to use, at least not if they got it post patch.

Very simple if you want to find out from this person ... have them equip the items and let you inspect them.

... why. It makes no sense... unless there's something in the RPG books that makes it make sense. But why make a 1hr quest and a multiple item farming tradeskill required quest have the same result.

well servers just came down for a 2 hour patch - I'll check out the quest link from /ooc (thanks for the redirection. I rarely read /ooc part these days).

If SoE is intent on tying up loopholes, this alternate way will be gone. Or it could be something totally different.

I'll try after servers come up because that Ghoul just is being very bashful these days

Edit: confirmed in /ooc thread that the quest is still working post patch. Spawn times is 3 hours in the pally guild, usually with someone camping the spot.

Still working on my ghoul and getting the mana crystals.... <sigh>

I'm hoping since the tradeskill version also returns mana crystals that perhaps there is a second step to further enhance the phylactery. Guess we will have to do some snooping to find out.

Also, SOE-- if you read this, please make Soul Clasp stackable with mage XPG and shaman Form of the Great Bear.

I noticed today on Allakhazam there was a new quest posted... It says that the reward from the felwithe quest that has to do with Befallen's Sir Ariam Arcanum (the horse guy) can be traded in for a phylactery...

I feel so bad for all those people who did this quest because of this bug I hope they revoke those phylacteries from the people who have them... Or at least give me time to get one! :P

I reviewed Lucy's and had a question about stacking.

The normal one gives +2 hp, +2 mana. The dark +5 hp. Buffs will stack together. However, that doesn't mean the effects of the buffs will stack together.

So, if a person used both, would they get +2 mana, +7 hp, or +2 mana, +5 hp?

That is the portion of stacking that confuses me. Just a side note... I don't even use mana, but I am sure there are more wondering it just the same.

edited my post because I put some bad info in it, the effect from the regular and the dark do indeed stack, I just double checked it

This was one of the ways they gave the phylactery as a prize from at a Fan Faire. A friend got one because he was the first person to buy the EQRPG books at the last Chicago one, so I am guessing you need to have a claim on your account for it to work. (He plays an iksar so GM had to convert the token and skip the Felwithe part.)

Worthwhile checking out though.
