Lewena's Drink and Brodder's Revenge, Summarized

I believe this is a reference to Runneyeye, where the bartender is a vender. However, Brodder, since the revamp, that zone is much closer level to Sol A is now. I'm at work atm. Can anyone check this out?

Just a FYI: I just did a search for "goblin bartender" in alla's bestiary and only two came up...a goblin bartender in Runnyeye and a FIRE goblin bartender in SolA...I'm thinking the one in Runnyeye can help us somehow.

Sadly, nothing that seemed of any import down in Clan RunnyEye.

The bartender had nothing out of the ordinary in inventory, and did not respond to hails. There were two other merchants with duplicate inventories, that included books containing baking recipes.

Fresh out of ideas at this point.

I'm baffled then... as far as the bartender goes. SOL bartender ... requiring goblin faction ... not too many places. Did the same search through EQMaps for just bartender, hoping something would come up in a zone with goblins where the bartender is maybe a different race but on the same faction... nothing.

Can't imagine what SOL is either. Looking through the zone names, nothing but SolA, SolB, and Temple of Solesek Ro stand out. I can't imagine anything in Ro with a goblin... and we just rules out all the SolX zones.

Initials maybe?

Are there any OTHER places the mystical bottle might be? Is it required for the actual combine? And / or the sub-combines? And what happens if the recipie is "in and working correctly" but the bottle is not? ( Verant / SoE have done THAT before... ) Is there another way?

Completely random musing here, so take this with a grain of salt. (The latter with apologies to our baker buddies seeking to decipher Brodder's "salt" clue. )

Discussion of the Goblin Bartender got me thinking some, and I ran a few searches on Allakhazam's. There is indeed another gobbie barkeep in Runnyeye, but that seems to be a bit out of character for Brodder -- weren't his battles with the goblins focused on Faydwer, not Antonica?

I did, however, run across a couple of interesting quests, the second of which involves brewing up some Brell ale (doesn't require brewing skill, though).

The first quest has you clobbering goblins for their war beads. The second quest has you killing an undead brewer and Torklar Battlemaster, both named mobs in Unrest. It also requires you to get a quest container which the quest description calls a "special cask" -- the actual item isn't noted.

Related? No clue. Interesting? Certainly. It would seem to fit in with Brodder's character, at least.

There is also the Blackburrow cask dropped from the gnoll brewer in BB, but I really doubt it would fit, because it is not referenced in the diaries (and it is a gnoll, not a gobbie).

Something which might be connected or might not: the (green) goblins in Butcherblock are actually Runnyeye or Pickclaw goblins (can't remember which) - according to their faction hits on death, anyway. Or they were the last time I killed any which was months and months (and months) back.

Another random idea: Enchanter illusions don't change faction anymore, but does druidic wolf form?

I was apprehensive to the merchants.

I also did some research on the recipe books offered by the goblin merchants, and they are offered in many other places.

Im ally to the Runnyeye goblins and the goblin bartender there didn't respond to any of my hails or questions about ales.

The goblin stuff is RP flavor from me GM quest to get Dwarven ale back to Kaladim early on in game...I got the mug at lvl 33 or 34...
was a nice 1hb, procs spin till you hurl. A lot! It also had some good stats. Nothing comprable to anything in new zones now.
but due to speed, stats, and unresistable spin till you hurl spell, it was deemed I couldn't take it with me to Terris Thule since it was a event item from bertoxxulous server... >blink<


Anyhow. You just have to seperate what's my RP style from my hints...

I believe he means something closer to the former. The Battlemug that Brodder refers to was an item given to him during a special event. At some point Brodder transferred servers and lost that item. Understandably, he wants it back. The Battlemug itself doesn't have anything to do with BR/Lewena.

As for the feedback, we need to continue to poke SoE/Devs to give us a hand in this. Despite Brodder's hints we are stumbling around in the dark at this point. We need to /feedback, hit the forums, and e-mail the feedback address to get the recipes confirmed, tested, and possibly to have hints/clues/bright flashing neon signs added to the game to point us in the right direction.

The quote that's led me to wonder if there's a new container has nothing to do with Brodder's Battle Mug ... it's this one from Brodder:

Someone who can change to a goblin and use the faction spell (chanter) should check SOL bartender for the new bottles, if they are in...hehe

Pretty direct pointer to the fact that 1) there should be a new bottle, and 2) it's on a bartender somewhere that requires goblin faction ( or goblin faction to get to ).
