  • Well, Brodder says he's no friend of Goblins, so SOL might be referring to Shadows Of Luclin. Find a bartender on the moon with a special container maybe?

    • Okay... for those who are in late on the discussion, we've pretty much already solved Brodder's Revenge.

Hot Sauce (currently unsolved, check baking forums) + Vodka/KS Vodka + Dwarven Ale/DBDS + Aviak Egg = Brodder's Revenge.

The sticking point is the Hot Sauce which is still unsolved. Anyone who wants to help, please go over to the baking forums and help us with that one. Once we've solved Hot Sauce, we can do Brodder's Revenge.

Alternatly, it is well known that Brodder HATES gobbies, so instead of trying to trade with him, how about KILLING the gobbie barkeep? Mabye he drops something needed.

      • Goblin bartender poofed on death. Vendors traditionally don't leave corpses, this was no exception.

Are there any goblins on the moon?

Also, for those interested in providing out of feedback game on this quest, or help me start a petition to get Brodder his mug back, use this URL:

        • Was that the sol a or the runnyeye gobbie barkeep? According to allahs, the gobbie barkeep in runnyeye is a monster, not a merchant.

          A Goblin Bartender

          Are they mistaken?

          • i think it was discovered(?) that if you were over lvl 32 you could by and sell to the bartender. i will take my halfling and hike and sneek to see if he has anything. but wont be able to for a few hours till i get home from work.

            • There was definitely a merchant in the Runnyeye bar area, I used it myself. I know this was before the revamp as I was trying to get a suit of BI for a special occasion, I dont know if it remained after the place was revamped.

              • I don't think you can sell to the Runnyeye merchant if you are kos even at higher levels. I spent a little time in there in my 50's getting some ba for an alt and I could never sell my excesses to the merchants there. The banker works after a certain level since even though he is kos since he won't attack, but the merchants give you the "go away" message. You could kill in gorge of king xorbb though and get your runnyeye faction up. I do believe they are functioning merchants.

                • I seem to remember that if you sneak you could buy/sell from that guy even while KoS.

                  • I visited the vendor today just before the patch. I could buy from him using sneak, and he had an ale which was no drop, called something spiced ale ( I can't recall the full name of it ). It was not tradeskill flagged. A spiced ale though......

                      • Yeah I offered it to Lewena, she didn't want to know.

                        • Interesting, this is from Brodder's Clue:

                          Spiced ale never seen?
                          Brodder's Revenge?
                          Test of Hate-elven delight?
                          Quested too hard they say...
                          Many groaned in dismay.

Just picked it up - its called Capt. Orlin's Spiced Ale (http://www.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=19966) available in a few places.

                          • Capt. Orlin's Spiced Ale is unfortunately not tradeskill tagged and is already used in a quest. Also this ale can be found on various place such as HH or the cat zone next Tox Forest.

If you can sneak/hide & buy from a dubious vendor, I dont think you can hail him (since you "steal" from him), will try it though in RE.

I tried to give to various SH npcs Frothy Goblin Tonic but unfortunately no answer, I guess you really need to combine your self the drink in order to please her.

update: tried to hail gob bartender and merchant using sneak and it does not work. Btw you can still buy/sell from merchant in sneaky mode since they are on different faction (I was max kos to RE gob but still dubious to them)

I searched for various RL hangover cure "brewed made", and I noticed that these item are often used :

                            - tomatoes
                            - water
                            - egg (with sugar, lemon and Gin)
                            - salt
                            - water/purified water
                            - fruit
                            - coffee

This is not a real contribution but it is fun to see that it is not a fantasy combine and could be applied in RL

                            • Other Bartenders, possibly the SOL he means...

The goblin bartender isn't the only "monster" race bartender that might fit the clue. There is one also in Shadeweavers' thicket, in the far far end of the alien caves. I don't know if he's a merchant or not, for any faction or character level. However, he does fit both the "SOL" clue and the "not far from that hall" part, since it's only two zones from Shadowhaven to Shadeweaver's.

                              • Confirmed... Gor Taku vendors.

Both the Gor Taku blacksmith *and* the Gor Taku barkeep *are* vendors.

However... Neither wanted to talk to my 18 ENC, under any illusion, and with Alliance I was still "dubiously".

                                But they *are* vendors.
