yes you can through a "quest" give the guy 5gp i think and he gives you the Icy Mug Souvineer Stein
You can also buy the no drop Fool's Gold Stein from the Fool's Gold bar in Rivervale

There's also a (dropped) stein in CC, the crude stein from Bouncers, and the Stein of Moggok.

There is a Defender Olaof = A Fool. He, however, is stationary and cannot be "followed". BUT his fellow guards do wander around. After following 2 or 3 of them and seeing nothing, I gave up this route out of sheer boredom. If he "sees all" well...he ain't seeing much from where he's standing *snort*

There is a dwarf, Tronso something, by the zone-in to paladul that says he will guide you on a tour through the Haven if you would like. I figure he might just lead me to something. However I cannot figure out how to get the li'l bugger to GO anywhere.

I had a thought that perhaps the bottles/mugs on the floor would tell us which drinks to combine in that they would look like the items we needed. However I cannot figure out which/what they resemble enough to consider combining anything LOL

Anyway, logging in to do some more searching =)

I think ive got the recipe pretty much cornered, i need people to try the following recipe with various spices and eggs etc.

Frothy Frostbite + Rotgrub Rye + "spice" + "egg" + vodka + container?

Frothy Frostbite is the gnomish antifreeze part
Rotgrub Rye is an item from dark elves "Hate Elves" as Brodder puts it, we also derived Rye from one of the names of the bardwellers. There is a halfling named Hamon and someone said ham on rye? ham on wheat? and Rotgrub Rye is the closest connection we could make. Also the 2 dwarves on the other side of the bar, the Fools see all ones are looking in his direction.. kinda-sorta
The spice egg and vodka were spelled out by Brodder, though which is a mystery. Combinations of "Spices" "Allspice" "Chagra Spice" and "Algae Spice" should be tried in conjunction with different SoL and earlier eggs
A container may or may not be used so for every combination it should be tried using one of "Shotglass" "Bottle" or "Cask" and also without a contianer.. one of those various Steins may also be the container but i dont think so.
I would try this all out myself but im unable to play EQ for the next 2 weeks and my brewing skill isnt good enough to make the frothy frostbite.

Hopefully we'll have this solved soon ;x

Edit: Tenrin said that Rotgrub Rye was obtainable by a newbie quest in neriak with the dead that you had to fill a box up with firebeetle eyes and then return it to him. the rye IS droppable

if Defender Olaof "sees all", as Grimna says, perhaps it is saying that all of the hints/ingredients for this quest or the vendors they are on are within his line of sight? You did say he was stationary and did not wander, which is odd for a guard I think.

Nobody has mentioned it yet but what about using a corking device on the experimental drinks? I believe the corked drinks were introduced with Luclin so it would sort of stand to reason that using a corking device might be in order.

So far we have the posibilities of eggs, spices, vodka, maybe a Frostbite Frosty, so lets try using different "bottling" methods. Bottle + Cork or Cask + Cork and a corking device with these ingredients.

ok this is going way off base i think.

oloaf might anagram to a fool, but why would we follow him? one anagram people are referring to has follow spelled "folow". SOE wouldn't do that. the other anagram, that of the two brothers' names, although spells "follow" correctly, just seems a bit contrived. i don't think we really have anything to go on that would lead us to oloaf, honestly.

anyhow, i am certainly not trying to attack anyone or their ideas (or make people feel apprehensive about posting them), but i just want to remind everyone to rethink where some of these guesses come from and how plausible they might seem to you. i mean, i just heard someone talk about mixing a drink with a lute. :P someone must reestablish order!

also, i should mention that this is a luclin quest... nothing from the planes should be needed, especially drops from Time.

it is good to see so many people interested in this quest! we will get it one way or another!

Hmm... I remember a lot of spelling mistakes in EverQuest when i first started May of 1999....

Maybe this is the wrong track. (I was kidding about mixing the drink with the lute by the way.) All I know is Brodder said to look down and I took the literal translation.

It is possibly coincidence, many other characters in EQ have funny names and I might just be stumbling across the wrong thing here. (i.e. bard merchant in N. FP named Jeckel Enhide.)

However, it seems completely ODD to me that not only would Lewena's name be an acronym (New Ale) related to her quest, but that the Barmaid's Adelina's name would also be an acronym for Dain Ale.

It doesn't matter to me who is right or wrong at this point, but that the quest is solved. I sincerely hope I am not detracting from the solution. I am only trying to help.
