    Or, perhaps it is;

"See all the fools who follow"

And going back to his original reference about the bag, I seem to have just acquired mine, and would not foul it with brew, but only the best of baked goods. So, this would seem that the item in question that needs to be made, if in fact it does exist in game, will take a GM Brewer to make.

    Just a thought.

my hightailing it through sseru because of a green con angry file cabinet and spending over an hour there looking for groundspawns/hailing folks/etc probably would have been a bit funny to 'em, although tedious to watch, i am sure.

        • For the sake of completeness, and to let Lewena know that we don't think any drink too good for her, I will offer her a blackburrow swig (rogue burning rapier quest, not in above list of tried drinks). of course, I am sure this isn't the answer to the quest, but I don't want Lewena to think we are skimping on her.

              • Ladies and Lords,

I'm certain I'm not the first one here who thinks his latest poem is actually broken down into several clues by stanza, so I'll not try to take any manner of credit for such a thought, and merely attempt to extrapolate upon it. Here is my initial analyzation:

Dah recipe is der for ye...
                A New ale ye see...
For if not found by you...
A New ale would be the clue..

This is believed to be the reference to Lawena herself, and sets up the remainder of the riddle.

Missing it may be, but der it is...
I'm sure it nuttin wif a fizz...
In name it was...Cold n Blue...
Gnomish antifreeze it could be too

We have learned this is Frothy Frostbite.

                Spiced ale never seen?
                Brodder's Revenge?
                Test of Hate-elven delight?
                Quested too hard they say...
                Many groaned in dismay.

This could allude to a quest unto itself for a mysterious ingrediant. Possibly a "spiced ale never seen". Brodder's known for his exploits taking down Goblins and such near his native Kaladim. Perhaps his "Revenge" refers to this. Then again, note that "Hate" and "Revenge" are both capitalized, inferring a proper noun as opposed to a common one. The drink in question could actually be called "Brodder's Revenge" (or it could be typical Dwarven...ahem..."spelling"). The "many groaned in dismay" line could either reference the previous line meaning that the quest is "too hard" (thus groans of frustration), or we're missing a pun here and the groans are referencing that instead.

In any event, I'm of the belief that this stage of the overall quest involves a quest unto itself.

Perhaps a mug on a shelf a clue?
Near the lass it may be.
                Catnip tea and ale?
Ah'd shiver hard let me tell you.

Is the mug in Shadowhaven? ...or in Shar Vahl? As was mentioned, many of the Shadowhaven quests involved running to outlying areas. It's entirely possible this quest requires a trip to Shar Vahl (the reference to "catnip tea and ale".) I realize many aspiring Everquesters have hit upon all the mugs in Shadowhaven, but how many have done the same in Shar Vahl? Fungus Grove? Even Katta Castellum?

I'm assuming the final line dealing with "shivering hard" refers to the mixing of tea and beer (ick!).

                Sumtin to warm the soul
                maybe...
The clue in a name could be...
                The search maddens them all...
But it's not far from that hall...

This is the stanza I'm most confused over. I'm sorry, but no immediate ideas come to my mind in these lines, unless there is an anagram we're all missing in someone's name.

My bags are full, and halflings distracted...
                Jumjum I'd never consume
Nor the juice of a legume...
But with vodka, and egg and spices concoted...
YOur revenge might be cured after all...

We're being informed that we were essentially going down the wrong path with the JumJum/Kava theories.

This is also the second reference to "revenge", again leading me to believe our final product will likely have that within the name, or something similar. Perhaps a new "Vengeance Ale" or something along those lines. It's also possible that Brodder simply likes using the word "revenge" when discussing quests.

I'd appreciate more analysis from the astute minds we have before us here. I'm certainly at wits' end.

                • I think the legume reference is to nut oils, etc. I don't think he was referring to the kava idea, although I have to admit that I haven't seen any support for it in game (other than her name).

                    • Why not just try to figure out how to make Brodder's Revenge? It could be that is what the hand in is, and he was just referring to himself as the named individual

                      • Riddles! Feh!

Anyways, I'll throw in something that occurred to me:

Perhaps a mug on a shelf a clue?
Near the lass it may be.
                        Catnip tea and ale?
Ah'd shiver hard let me tell you.
On some level, it does sound like we're looking for something near Lewena. And I hate to say it, but it also sounds like something from a vendor. However....

                        Sumtin to warm the soul
                        maybe...
The clue in a name could be...
                        The search maddens them all...
But it's not far from that hall...
Someone mentioned the "hall" as possibly being the Netherbian Lair, which would make sense if some of the mobs there drop the Ice of Velious. (Though that does raise the question of where they got that Ice on Luclin.) Shadow Haven is two/three zones away from Neth Lair:

Shadow Haven --> Nexus --> Netherbian Lair

Shar Vahl is three zones away form Shadow Haven:

Shadow Haven --> Paludal Caverns --> Shadeweaver's Thicket --> Shar Vahl

And Sanctus Seru is only two zones away from Neth Lair:

Netherbian Lair --> Dawnshroud Peaks --> Sanctus Seru

Katta Castellum is *way* the heck and gone from most of these areas, and is probably disqualified. Probably. But if the "hall" to which Brodder refers is Shadow Haven itself, then the catnip tea is probably a reference to Shar Vahl (plus a cute little rhyme of all/hall/Vahl).

How many of us created little cats and went walkabout in the city, following the newbie line of quests? Wasn't that to show us around this brand new city, get us acquainted with the location of things? And I can't help but wonder if somewhere in all this, the class-related brewing quests in Shar Vahl might hold some clues?

Hmmm. I play a barb shammy who is a citizen of Shar Vahl. Let me go and do some searching around the city, see what might pop up....

                        Fal
                        Brewing still at 225!

EDIT: I've stomped around Shar Vahl, with no luck. I briefly thought that the Nepeta Cataria Mint might be what I was looking for (another name for catnip is catmint, but it's not listed as combinable. The Nepeta Oil extract is, however, but I can't see dumping that into a brew barrel with anything. More to ponder, I suppose.
The border between the Real and the Unreal is not fixed, but just marks the last place where rival gangs of shamans fought each other to a standstill.

I think we should focus more on the things he told us and what we allready know, an ale purchased in shadowhaven may also be part of the result... just there are too ****ed many freaking ales.. they just went hog wild with that expansion and freaking merchant bought ales

                              • Possible link to Brodder's clues...

The Shar Vahl progressive brewing quests require, in the beginning stages, that you learn to brew something called "gravel leaf tea". The quest to collect these leaves mentions that the tea is used to sedate prisoners in the area below the arena.

This tea could be the "catnip" he mentioned. I'm in the process of collecting leaves for the second part of the quest, and I'll be sure to make a few extra teas to experiment with recipes later.
