If Lewena's idea of a "favorite drink" is a mug that's randomly thrown on the floor then she has some issues to work out ... :?

Be that as it may, I've seen those mugs and bottles and wondered quite a bit. I've clicked on every one that I've found in the hopes of picking it up or getting some kind of in-game response. Zilch. I don't know if I've found them all, though.

I had expected them to be objects you could pick up, with some "Trash Collector" type of person offering a newbie quest to pick up all the bottles you find in SH (probably would be ten), combine in a "Trash Bag", and turn them back in. However, they seem to be completely unmanipulatable (if that's even a word).

Back to the idea of the Hall ... Could that be a reference to Netherbian Lair? It has that monstrous hall running down its length, and it's not that far from SH. Are there any known tradeskill drops from that zone that could be used in brewing?

    • Umm...maybe it's just me, but the "nobody looks down, except at tohers" seems to bellow "ground spawn".

      • I will try not to get us onto too many dead ends, but his speaking of eating pretzles between drinks reminding him of his former tastes, makes me wonder whether or not we should take that as a hint. (He has mentioned the pretzles before.) At any rate, the primary flavor of pretzles is salt. The only salt I know of in the game (true salt, that is, not salty items like seaweed, minnows, or even saltpeter) is Bag of Sea Salt. Adding salt to a brewing mixture is indeed strange, but to each his own I suppose. It is, after all, a spice.

I should here reiterate that I think his jumjum/legume reference is a clear denial of their inclusion in the recipe.

I, too, am very tempted by the ground spawn idea. However, one really would think someone would have found it by now. Though hardly a *cough* dwarf *cough*, my Fier'dal stature is hardly so lofty that I might miss something so obvious. Although this is indeed a stretch, I can't help but to think about Tiplo the Gardener and Lewena's name. We know lewena is the name of an ingredient of a ritual fijian drink. I personally would find it hard to believe that this would be a coincidence, unless the devs wanted her name to be an anagram of 'new ale', in which case, Lewena is one of only a few probable outcomes. At any rate, it seems at least possible to me that Tiplo has something spawning somewhere in his various gardens through the Haven. He won't give me anything, no matter what I say to him, so it indeed seems quite likely that, were it coded into the game to get something from his garden, it would indeed be through ground spawn and not quest dialogue. (Also, TIPlo does fit "clue in a name", although perhaps this is just coincidence.)

Oh well, I have been sitting in trader mode for a couple of days, perhaps I will take some time to experiment tonight.

Netherbians drop Porous Mineral Blocks, which are a Brewing Geerlok component. I believe they also drop Ice of Velious (rarely).

          • I’ve been reading up a bit on catnip tea; it’s used (by humans, anyway ) as a relaxant to help you sleep better.
It also lowers fevers, hence the shiver part?

I've gotten some weird groundspawn mushrooms out of Paludal in the past few days, one of them was marked as a tradeskill. Can't remember the names though
Ack! bluetoe mushroom and dulfis mushroom. Those are the two...dulfis is marked as combinable.

            • Bluetoe and dulfis mushrooms are used in the Shar Vahl Sonic Wolfbane quests. They have been live since Luclin was released.

They have a known use but they may still be part of the recipie as well.

Wouldn't that be a Faydwer Stinger (a sting is when police go undercover like spys to nab bad people).

I'm missing something then...all the printouts that I got off eqtraders don't mention them for that.
*sigh* and just when I though I was ready for those quests

Pixies drop wings and dust, anything else?

Just a note: if BOTH are usable in the vah shir sonic wolfbane quests and only ONE is tagged as tradeskill item, means we can't necessarily rule these out yet...if that was the only use (barring errors by Sony) for both kinds of mushrooms, would it not make sense for either (A) BOTH to be tagged as tradeskill items (don't agree with this, but maybe) or (B) NEITHER to be tagged as tradeskill items since they are quest items, not tradeskill.

Therefore, I think the dulfis mushroom still has possibilities.

                        • Random thoughts. I know I"ve seen a drink somewhere named something like Innoruk's Kiss. Would fit with the hate bit above. And catnip IS in game, has anyone ever tried to brew with it?

                            • I bought one of every drink Woolf has and identified them. No Lore text at all.

I also spent some time with my feet in the dirt of Tiplo's garden. I didn't find any ground spawns at all yet.

I offered a bounty to anyone who could show me where there is a ground spawn in SH. One person said that a "Tarnished Silver Coin" is a ground spawn by the feet of the dwarf just across from the PC zone line. Although it's also a foraged item, maybe we could try using that in the drink?

Arguably, foraging requires you to look down. Maybe we should start playing with foraged items...

Nepata Cataria Mint .. Foraged in ME, TSea, Shadeweaver's and Grimling's Forest.

Brodder's Revenge, could mean that he made a quest that was a hard one to solve, like an 'Epic' ale. To cure the revenge, would mean to solve the quest, prolly.
