Well, in the last page of posts we have found out three things:
1.) We indeed are to find a recipe for "Brodder's Revenge" (possibly even one nearly identical to the putative recipe Brodder offered).
2.) Frosty Frothbite isn't an ingredient (in it or anything else).
3.) I'm an idiot. :P
Considering these (well maybe ignoring the last for a bit), I would offer that either one of two possiblities exist:
I.) We need to brew 2 new items: a "New Ale" (called Mug Ale by Brodder in his recipe), which is then used with already-known ingredients to produce a BR.
II.) We need to brew only one new item " the BR itself, which either needs one special (heretofore unknown) drop/forage/NPC handout (quite likely) or uses items we already know but haven't put together (doesn't seem quite so likely).
Anyhow, I don't mean to clog up the thread with unnecessary repetition, but I wanted to outline where (at least I think) we stand, given this new information.Urnihixul Noctumbra - 84 Rogue - Druzzil Ro (Xev)

oh, btw the item lore for Item 22538 that LothanEQ posted is also "Brodder's Revenge"
He probably found the item number by looking in the emulator. The emulator has a lot of pre-PoP items in it, since someone had gone in and data mined the item database when you could hack item links. This is the same method that was used to get a preview of the Bristlebane's Party Platter before the recipe was found.

I think Brodder said to remember that all the new recipes are just redos of old recipes (I think Brodder said it). I don't think this is a Luclin era recipe either. I think it's Velious which I believe the Frothy Frostbite is.
So I would guess something using a combination of 1 or more of these ingredients:
Egg
Vegetable
Ale
Dwarven Ale (from the looking down reference)
Vodka
Brandy
Mead
Cask
Short Beer (from the looking down reference)
Brodder says the answer is near her, so I would *guess* that is uses the ingredients found on one of the merchants near her. But again, I'm just guessing.

Well I tried quite a few recipes any and all combo's using dwarven ale, haven ale, light haven ale, dark haven ale, curled whisker whiskey (from Shar Vahl) victory something whiskey (also from shar vahl) ale, short beer, snake egg, snake egg oil, veggies, spices, foraged roots, frothy frostbite, and the whiskey from Thurg (can't think of the name of it right now hehe)
Used with each "container": icy mug souvenier (from Thurg) cask, bottle, shot glass, stein.
Gave myself a headache and quit for awhile. Didn't think to try mead or brandy...guess I'll have to redo all of those this evening once the ibuprofen kicks in *snicker*

Tho it may seem wise to skip those without flags, and to only attempt using a cask...we know that there are indeed items used in tradeskills that aren't flagged, and we know that Brodder's recipes did not all go in game exactly as he wrote them. Would be a shame to discover that some item we decided "couldn't be it" actually WAS it hehe.

just so you know, double brewed double stout dwarven ale isn't flagged as tradeskill. (nor is hero brew for that matter)
not much info, but just to save ya a bit of time. *shrug*Urnihixul Noctumbra - 84 Rogue - Druzzil Ro (Xev)

No fail or not...it IS part of a tradeskill. If eqtraders left out everything that was no fail we'd miss out on a lot of recipes. And are we to assume there isn't a no fail part before the final combine? I don't think it likely...but then many of the recipes I didn't think were likely are actually in game. I've been working on this quest on and off for 8 months now, I think I've gone beyond only looking at what "seems right" into the realm "well...that might be it" LOL

Small update: Kromriff Spit Vodka and Melted Glacier Whiskey both have tradeskill tag on em. I searched through the brewing recipes here and haven't found anything using them.
I tried:
MGwhiskey, snake egg, ale, veggies, cask = DNC
KSVodka, egg, ale, veggies, cask = DNC
tried both of the above with shotglass and bottle = DNC
MGWhiskey, snake egg, spices = DNC
KSVodka, snake egg, spices = DNC
tried both with shotglass, cask, bottle = DNC
MGWhiskey, snake egg, KSVodka, veggies, cask = DNC
above with bottle, shotglass = DNC
Going back in to try more now

MGWhiskey and KSVodka are used in known recipes (glacier oil tannin and special shellac, respectively). That, of course, doesn't preclude their use here, however.(Of possible note is that each of these recipes uses oily goo secretion as the other main ingredient, just fyi.)
I had completely forgotten about the KSVodka, though. That is good to keep in mind. (I had always been using the regular vodka.).Urnihixul Noctumbra - 84 Rogue - Druzzil Ro (Xev)

Okay, he said to use a Vodka? In Thurg I found a Kromrif Spirit Vodka at the bar across from the meat dealer (for all those patty melts I'm going to get around to making one of these days) that had the tradeskill flag on. Mabye that's what he was talking about. It's from Doogle McBanick if anyone wants to try it out.
