Hi,

would like to know if anybody killed/(found up) the mobs to obtain the tome of miragul or sanguine tome after patch?
Got the other 4 books, but still mis this 2.

I've killed the Tae Ew Bloodfiend in CT since the patch, and looted his rarer drop, the Stone Hammer of Havoc, rather than his common drop, the Sanguine Tome.

So, yes, he is still making appearances since the patch. I would assume he would still drop the Tome.

I've read the write-up you've made, and just making a quick comment on it for now: the final step (6), regarding the Heart of the Phylactery: it's the Blood-Lacquered Precious Garnet. There is no further combine needed for that part. The reason I named it the Heart of the Phylactery was because I didn't know anything about the specific item just yet when I wrote it and the quest info also didn't detail it as much.

Also, the skill needed for the Phase Silk Thread is > 221, and skill restricted, with at least (but possibly higher) skill of 163 needed.

Has it been confirmed that the phylactery will only be usable by melees or hybrids? I am not certain that is the case....

Also, has anyone failed any of the tradeskill combines associated with the phylactery? Is it possible that they were coded as no fail -- dreads finding duplicates of the books each time the RNG is a little wonky...

Ok i wiped out every single **** roamer i could find in oasis for 3 hours and did not see this vaunted Ghoul of Takish-Hiz pop once. I even killed Caziel, something named a madman and the wandering ronin, did nw side of lake then whole zone what i could find.

What the hell is its ph and where does it pop?

Not having really done CT alot where do we find the Bloodfiend and whats the best way to him? Port into maze at wizzy spire and then?

If you look at the map, the place where I have found the Ghoul of Takish-Hiz was directly north and to the northwest of the lake in the middle. In all four times I encountered it, it was roaming about.

If you look at this map, you will see two roundish chambers in the southern portion. The left one of those two has about 4 to 5 fireplaces with a pot above them, with 3 stationary spawns. One of those is the Tae Ew Bloodfiend or his placeholder.

Examine the object itelf.

Look at the robe and the tunic. They have no augment slot.

There are two kinds of items that have no augment slots in game now:

1. items that can be recharged.
2. items that are a cyclic quest reward.

This item has no charges. QED, it is an item of type 2.

Try turning the tunic in to cycle to your robe and breastplate.

From what I can tell( and I've had very little coffee after a very long night) Casters collect 6 books (most of them a pita to get) and turn it in with their newly refarmed (most have prolly destroyed their old) Velious chest item and get a new item.


However melee's, Get to TS for their item? Did they fire the guy with the brains that figured out melee suck at TS thus why the dorf ring has very little TS in it?

My cleric Tradeskills. I don't bother on my Main (warrior) because it's not worth the time to swap droppable gear with my cleric then get kei or voq to further raise my wis so I can actually get TS skill ups in an acceptable manner (though no where near my cleric).

From what I can tell all the TS elements are no drop making this nothing like the potc quest.

So if this is in fact a method of trying to force melee to Tradeskill sony has once again proved it's infinite stupidity.

The advantage to the potc quest was you could farm stuff and have someone else make it (IE my cleric) or buy it and then turn it in yourself for the reward.

As I said I've had very little coffee so far so my comprehension isn't 100percent but this looks like another way to try and get melee to Tradeskill.

The thing that is so confusing Tanise is that even if you are a melee tradeskiller, you have to complete the six books anyway to access the tradeskill piece. It seems odd to force the melee's to tradeskill and MQ with casters part 1 of the quest to get their phylactery. It also seems odd to force casters to use the six books and be stuck with all the random tradeskill stuff that is no drop for the melee reward.

The only thing that makes sense to me is if the Phylactery is tradeable....

It seems to me that *if* there is indeed a turn-in cycle for the reward (and we've seen a tunic and a robe so far), we just haven't seen the melee rewards yet. There may indeed be a 40-60 AC tunic with Vengeance on it, or whatever.

The phylactery is also pure speculation at this point. It may be a melee item for all we know. It may be tradeable. We're hypothesizing. This is not the time to froth at the mouth and beat up SOE. There's plenty of time for that later.

has anyone tried to mq a velious robe for the turnin with the seal?
ie, your wizard buddy turns in his robe, then you hand in the seal and presto, you get your ft4 robe?
i never had a velious robe, and don't want to spend however many pp it is to buy one, or farm one.
