New Oracle Quest

Have any melee or hybrid classes completed this quest yet? (I mean the books.) Has anyone from those classes tried turning in a chain or plate breastplate, see if they get anything back?

In other words, despite what the previous promotional text says, has anyone actually tested whether melee and hybrids can get a chest item too?

I noticed this buried in the thread... I presume this was done in a Fletching Kit, and the skill mentioned is Fletching.

Yes fletching kit. Shadwood stave will cost about 325p. The knife is consumed on failure too.

I'm rather curious about that aspect, because if they don't, SOE has basically designed this as one big "MQ ME PLEASE!" quest, since a chain/plate person interested in tradeskills would have to get the seal anyway but not be able to do anything with it.

And I thought they didn't like MQs...

(I'm assuming its MQable based on the earlier comments about the turnin NPC accepting a tunic/robe from a person who hadn't done the quest, and then someone getting the wrong tunic back later, presumably having accidentally MQ'd it with someone who turned in a tunic/robe earlier. Since tunic then seal MQ works, I would expect seal then tunic would also work.)

If they were going to allow plate and chain wearers to get new BPs as well, wouldn't they have mentioned it?

It would seem that whomever is in charge of gear is definately more caster-centric lately - first the LoY robes and now this upgrade your pure caster robes/tunic quest.

Killed Ghoul of Takish-Hiz 4 times in the Oasis of Marr now. Didn't drop the quest piece on any of them, even though the emote text he gave each time would indicate that he should. When engaged, he says:

"Ghoul of Takish-Hiz says, "Run, run far from these lands. For while unstoppable here, I am bound by an item of my past to never leave this land where once stood a great forest."

I got that same message when I killed the ghould in South Ro before the 10/8 patch. He didn't drop the Soul Anchor for me either, but I only killed him the one time.

As far as having a melee/hybrid version of the tunic, I agree the promotional info implies that there isn't one and if it still had ac20, I am not sure if I would want it. On the other hand, if the reward is caster/priest only, the quest npc should say so in the game.

So is the tunic/robe just a side reward (I hope) and the phylactery results in the final one?

Also, I tried the wine quest to raise my faction, and it did not adjust my faction at all towards the oracle. Started out dubious and still dubious.

The final turnin might be messed up. The enchanter who finished before me that got the tunic finally heard back from the gms. They at first tried to tell her that the tunic was the only result but when she had me link my robe to the gm they tried turning in the velious robes with tokens and got the tunic back everytime.

They checked his loot table and apparently the tunic is the only thing on it. Our server did lock up once since I turned it in and they think that might have effected it so they gave her back her robe and her token and told her to wait until a patch message stated that it was taken care of.

So be careful on your final robe turn ins.
