l doubt pacifying will work, those mobs are really high MR. I have had a friend live down there with his rogue. He had no problem creeping his way down there. The mob just doesnt spawn. He checked right after each of the two server crashes we had this past weekend and no luck. I give up till next patch, this mob doesnt exist...

Keep in mind that many of the other mobs you listed are week-long spawns. While the random mobs in the Hole may have fast respawn times, Dartain may be on a far longer respawn timer. It's possible someone beat you to him; and you'd just have to wait for him to respawn. If he is on a week-long timer (which, I repeat, is still unknown), then no amount of clearing will make him respawn sooner.
Sos works fine, if there is no way you can get around that golem isolate it and kill it. Most of the golems that see invis that i've seen are wanderers.Last edited by Blitzberg; 10-16-2003, 01:52 PM.

Speaking from experience as a rogue, I've been in the Hole a lot lately and only 1 of those golems has ever seen through SoS. Seems to be a luck of the draw spawning thing. Was a wanderer in the city that saw me and he was easily killed.
That said, I camped down in the room that Dartain spawns in for about 4 days (logging on and off checking) and never saw him.
I was going to take my little level 1 halfling through there but the gargoyles see sneak/hide without SoS. Golems are still dubious.
If you were to take a character there by whatever means (fighting there wouldn't be hard for your average 55ish group, far as I can tell) you could camp any character in the room beside the hall that Dartain spawns. You'll know which room I'm talking about because in the basement it makes a T intersection when you get to the end. Dartain used to spawn in the hall at the top of the T. The room to the right and left that the top of the T makes are both empty rooms and safe for a level 1 character to sit in. If it were me having to fight the character in...I'd take a level 1 necromancer just to be on the safe side. He can invis undead himself ;-)
On a side note, it's worth making an erudite cleric to DA into the hole just to take a look at all the dead "fallen adventurers" with their epics. Golem and guards aren't KoS as long as you don't try to go through the door they're guarding. There's a wanderer that walks through the rocks and opens the other door out of there, but you'll be far enough away that he won't agro.

I've checked the epicurean halfling in Misty. He's amiably to me, but when I went to check the Rivervale halflings, I could only find that the deputies were warmly to me, so he isn't on their faction. All the other halflings I could find were amiably to me ...
So he's either on the merchant faction or the deeppockets faction.

I have Kindly, Amiably and Warmly factions in Rivervale at the moment. When I did my grapes turn in, Dark Elf wizzie friend came with me. She happened to hail him at night so got no text but before in-game daylight she did get her grapes. She had no special factions.
No more EQ for me till they fix the crash bug.

Without the Tome of Miragul you can't even start the quest really and of course no one can find Dartain.
You can get the other books but they must be handed in, in order, in order to gain the quest item and get the scribe to give you the stuff for the next set of recipies. If you can't even do the first turn in then you can't do the quest at all.
All copies of Tome of Miragul on RN have suddenly vanished and no one is selling them.
You can do the garnet without a book turn in, you can make the thread and clip without a turn in, everything else seems to be a turn in to get the tradeskill item.
We still dont know if the tradeskill combine is no fail with the no drop item, nor do we know if the item is returned on failure. Trying to get another book for another item would REALLY SUCK.
This quest is getting lamer and lamer the more thats unveiled. /cheer SoE....NOT.

I have a question I noticed the tunic is for Cleric, Druid and shaman. Clerics have a Breastplate not a tunic to turn in. In the quest write up they tell you to turn in Velious/SS/Kael tunic or robe. Can this be done? Has anyone done that? Don't want the NPC to eat my Breastplate if that isn't what he wants

Alternating between...
I Got the robe tonight. There was no new text from Raotin or the assistant when I did hand ins on Xegony. I ended up being given the tunic instead of robe.... Put in a petition and then rememberd the post about the Guardian supposedly allowing people to switch
So I went over to him, and handed him some junk to make sure he hands stuff back he doesnt want. He gave the junk back. Then I thought, welp, might as well try, and handed the tunic over. He handed over the robe, and stated "You prefer the tunic? Very well."
So perhaps on some servers Roatin gives new text, but on Xegony he is not. But the guardian is allowing you to get the robe for tunic. I do not know if you can keep cycling, I have not tried.
