Let me start with, I think the changes to the system sound well thought out and sound like it should ease a lot of the disparities amongst the races. The advance notice is also great.

The "cultural armor" charms have a recipe update, but the items themselves unchanged.
I am a bit confused why the seals will be changing at all. If the inks, parchments and tablets are not changing and if the seals are the "easy" part, why would they need to be changed at all?

I guess the guild needs to not change any of the LB Steel / Silk into Seals except on a per use basis as to not end up with worthless Seals.

Ngreth said Lambent Stones are going away? I thought they were used in a Quest or two at least I know of a Bard Quest they are used in and I think I remember a Wizard Quest as well...

Yup I thought so:Bard Lambent Gems
    Darkwood Staff

Sorry that I was not clear with my question. What I mean was, will the quests for Ancestral Books and Seals of Darkhollow be changed together with the quests for the Symbol Books when the day comes in the near future?

I know that changes to these two quests will not mean much to most people, but I suppose there are people like me who has more than 4 sets of components for the Ancestral Book in bank (grab a few sets on one trip and save the time needed to go back). If these component sets are handed to the quest NPC and converted into Ancestral Books (not lore), they will take up more than 4 inventory slots if we have more than 4 sets of components. So, umm... just want to know if I should hand them all to the quest NPC before the quest changes.

From what Ngreth said so far, the recipes itself will not change with the upcoming patch, only the names are changing.

Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere, but can someone confirm that the original ingredients will still combine after the (4/18/07) patch? TIA!

Woots! You made someone a very happy halfelf on my server and me a very happy gnome*goes of to tell the Druid the good news*

correct. But the seal is one of the "easy" parts.

meaning will my Agnostic chanter gnome ONLY be able to make items for agnostic chanter gnomes?
Or can we still make the armor for any gnome class and augs of any deity?

    *worried about this*

From what I have gathered from this thread, the following dropped items should also be used up as soon as possible (only listing Master and Grandmaster lvl):

    Purescale Ore
    Crushed Diamond Dust
    Shissar Scales (for symbols)
    Nightmare Arachnid Swatch (for symbols)
Large Corathus Fungus (for charms) ??
Large Corathus Fungus not going away.
Shissar scales and Nightmare arachnid silk were ALOS used for armor, and are definitely going the way of the dodo.
Jade shards and Lambent stones are also going away.

    Shimmering Silk
    Mottled Hide

    Fine Silk
    Chronal Steel
    Discordant Steel
    Bazu Steel
    Last Blood Steel

I believe the following are *not* affected:
    Dust of Discord
    Discordant Scoriae
    Slugworms
    Trean Flies

The best place to farm sunshard ore is from vendors near mobs that drop sunshard ore .

True, the silver conduit can be used to make items that do have a difficulty over 300, but, well ... put it this way.

I spent a little time trying to farm some sunshard ore from the juggernauts down in Sebilis, and I have to say that the drop rate is such that I think I'd rather wait to see what the new recipes are like before I decide to pursue that path in earnest.

On the other hand the jugs are an amazingly prolific source for a staggering variety of high end Kunark era spells, some of which still sell for decent plat in the Bazaar. They also drop a variety of mid-to-high end gems (including blue diamonds) and those sell for good plat to merchants, though, of course, I do keep some of them for my personal tradeskill needs.
