Found haze panther skins on a merchant in shadowhaven sold them in the bazzar when having 1000 pp to my name was a fortune

    Have found some hobgoblin surprises
    Tufts of dire wolf fur

    I love to mine

Just a question...how did they nerf vendor mining?

They got rid of back stock.

IE the 10 slots that were not displayed if the vendor was full. You could buy out 10 cheap items, and display the rest of the vendor stock. Could quite often find some very nice stuff hidden away. Now, the 80 items you can see, is it. No more hidden goodies.

        mining?

        I'm a little confused...

I was trying to understand the whole vendor mining instructions and I don't get how you would be able to buy something from a vendor and then sell it back for more cash. Yes I'm dense I know . Just think of me as the noob tradeskiller who is trying to understand the direction from the masters.

I don't get how you would be able to buy something from a vendor and then sell it back for more cash.
The idea is to find things on merchants that you can buy at a cheaper price than current market value. I do this for components that I need as well as things that will sell to other players. You can make a lot of pp by knowing what to look for on merchants and then selling to other players (not back to merchants).

I have to brag up my great find last night.
I found a Page 25L of yaeth's compendium on a vendor (used to make Kei)
I also found the runes to make sunstrike. (Now if I were only a Wizard. Hmph!)

I am not sure if research components are dropping like candy in the new dungeons or what, but I have found tons of great research pieces on vendors in the last 2 days.

            eureka

            ahhhh ok...

so when i buy stacks of silks from vendors and then sell them for more than i paid for to people in the bazzar?

I get it now. I'm very impressed with all the people who know exactly what to buy. I buy stacks of items for vendors for tradeskilling but I never know if those other items sitting there are worth it.

            Thanks for the tip.

Generally all you need to do is take some time (if you are interested) to find out what sells.

General items that sell okay (bulk items) with profit
              - Spider silks (or for ones tradeskilling)
              - Velium/Acrylia pieces
              - all other more expensive tradeskill items (like velium hound/mastodon/rockhopper/black panther skin)

              Other items that sell well:
              - rare research pags/words/runes (one likes Words of Virtue for lvl 60 mage pet heal, if the spell is costly like KEI, RGC, you can expect the research component to be worth quite a bit).
              - Real spells (KEI's, Brell2's, VOQ, etc.)

Quest items (for Talisman, etc. Quests from PoP). Mostly rarish drops in Bot, FoZ, etc..

Generally quite simple (maybe 20-50 items i have on my list). Only disadvantage it can be quite time consuming...but on a hour average i definately earned much more than i could exping solo or group. It has become much harder as the backstock is not available anymore, but also requires less time...

Research components ARE dropping like candy in the new dungeons. Sell your stuff quick before the bottom drops out of the market.

                  first experience

Ok so I took my new found knowledge (and about 500pp) to a few zones to look for items to sell and for items to work my tailoring skills up on.

                  I hit the following zones...

Misty Thicket- Found some LQ and MQ wolf pelts and some silks
Rivervale- Couple of pieces of acrylia
                  E. Commons- MQ cat pelts, a couple of silks and a stack of grizzly skins.
                  W. Commons- Same as E. Commons
                  E. Karana- Nothing
                  N. Karana- Nothing
                  Innothule- A few spiderling silk
                  Gukta- A few spiderling silks
                  Everfrost- Nothing

Gonna walk around PoK and SH today....

There wasn't much out there when it came to pelts and such.
But I did see a lot of runes, words, and other pages. I didn't have anything printed out that would show me what was worth while so I didn't grab any.

Any other ideas for places to go. I was thinking maybe dawnshroud and seru.

I tend to hit mainly PoK, Shar Vahl and Bazaar (lots of turnover there, so chances mainly after a patch are okay to find something good).

EC/WC good for silks, but mostly other people quicker than I am.

While PoT/PoK/Sharvahl (only the good vendors there)/ Bazaar are more the PoP/Luclin Stuff

CS not bad for wyvern, cobalt drake, etc.

My most memorable haul was about five stacks of silk swatches on a vendor in Neriak's Foreign Quarter. I think I got Wu's to trivial that night. Of course my wrists still ache whenever I think about all the heady kiolas I had to make...

Found "A Wind-Worn Stone" on a vendor, made my enchanter friend very happy.

Had the devil of a time finding it in the database because I had searched for 'Wind ' (note the space after the 'd' instead of 'Wind' or 'Wind-' So much for saving time by entering partial search parameters

Edit – oh yeah, found a Gadjillion runes for 50+ wiz research

Having recently dinged 49 with meh druid main, and realized that spells get way way expensive from here on out, I am determined to pharm most of the drops I need to get them myself.

I also come across a lot of things that I don't need, or can be used to make CEs.

What I Wish I Had The Patience To Do...

is make a list of what drops are 'common' and therefore CE/VM-able, what to keep to make Loy Scribed Swatches, and what I need for Druid or Cleric spells. I need to go over to Research forum and ask... What is rare? What is valuable? What is trash? I've never had to pay attention to research drops before now, and suddenly I feel way behind on the learning curve....

                              There's a storywindow mod here:
                              http://www.dracore.com/EQ/storyResearch.zip
which I have come to love: tells me what Page/Word/Rune goes for what spell, among other things. Now I just need to get that rarity thing down, and I'll be set. ^_^

well my best find isnt tradeskill related per say, but the items i found were made with a tradeskill.

when Luclin was relatively new i was going through Katta's tiny town and for fun went to check the gnome tinkering vendors.

Lo and behold, i found 30 Geerlok Gemsetters at i think it was 9 pp each.
On my server at that time they used to sell for close to 200pp
so i bought em all and went to NFP to sell em off (pre bazaar times )
