I actually don't vendor mine that much...but one of my best find was the day I filled two mules with fired opal steins...

filled - as in *all* bank slots and inventory slots...with 10 slot bags... and the vendor had more...each for about 4.5pp

Sold them to guildies for 5pp each (not to make a profit, but what's 5gold other than not having to count it out)...sold the rest in the bazaar for 50pp each (i think there still some left on one of those mules)...

If you're gonna friggin' dump that many, put them on a "full" merchant =P

Found a pre-nerf circlet of shadow on a merchant in SH for 560pp, just 15 minutes BEFORE a patch.

Also picked up a gold boar horn for 9.5pp the other day.

A full stack of HQ bear pelts

Ah, yes. I forgot about pelts.

- Probably 10 HQ Tundra Kodiak Pelts. Not all at once, but sold for 500pp ea.
--- All off the same merchant. /boggle
--- Another trader was selling it for 800pp; he runs over and buys mine to also put it up for 800pp. /bigger boggle

- HQ *Lion* Skin. For 5gp off the Karana gypsies. Sold for 1k I think.

I've found about 2 stacks worth of arctic wyvern hides so far, lots of spider silk, and last night I found 24 solstice robes for 16pp each.

I found two drops of pure rain for sale in Thurg this weekend - paid 28 pp each for 'em

About 6 10-slot boxes worth of Picnic Baskets, and another 6 10-slot boxes worth of JumJum Spiced Beer, off merchants in Pok.

The Baskets were obscenely cheap, given how much a pain the boning is to make (the ore doesn't stack) and the mandrake is ... well, expensive enough to make the pre-made Baskets a happy happy find for me.

And my brewing was non-existant at the time I found the Beer (which was like a day after I found the Baskets), so I considered it a happy find too.


I still haven't used more than a stack or two of each... haven't hit MTPs, still upping Baking with H10MPs... except I can't bake right now, because all 3 of my chars are stuffed full with all the stuff I've found vendor mining!


I've VMed enough HQ Bear that my tailoring is now 88 and all 3 chars have half Handmade Backpacks and half Deluxe Toolboxes (sometimes you really need those Giant slots, and not just Large).

Found some Thunder Salmon in either JPF or SFG once. Bought a stack, there might have been more on the vendor, I forget. This was ages ago. Left it in the bank on an alt and FORGOT about it till shared bank space (WHICH I TOTALLY LOVE THANK YOU SONY THIS IS WORTH LOSING KEI).

I finally dug them out, looked up what they were for (I TOTALLY LOVE the search function on the DB here, and that 'click to see what recipes this is used in' link) and used a skinning knife on em to get scales and eggs.

Sold the scales, brewed the eggs into Fish Oil (planar baking ingredient). Ended up with 20+16 Fish Oil.

Sold the lot in one fell swoop one night about 45 sec after hitting trader. 10p each. That's 360p. For one stack of Thunder Salmon.

When LoY first came out

I got over 65 stacks of spiderling silks off a vendor in Gukta area. I'm guessing everyone who started a frog right off didn't think to hold on to any of these.

BTW Innothule Swamp is a GREAT place to farm spiderling silks for those who don't wanna pay the 40pp per leather padding hehe.

Just to add my 2cp....

Best find to date was an Ivory Skull for 80p (used in the PoN JCed helm).

Found 3 gold tipped boar horns before the quest was posted on public boards, and everyone and thier mother discovered it.... Luckily since i like to wander and talk to NPCs I knew what they were for.

Found Living Coal.

And of course more silk, pelts, and other general tradeskill items than you can hold on 6 mules.

As for non-tradeskill items... I found the 9 cha neck that used to drop off the princess in MM on a vendor in NK like a month or two after Kunark was released, being an enchanter and having the 80p the bendor wanted I nabbed it fast. Discovered it no longer dropped when someone offered me 3k for it... To a level 25 enchanter 2 months into Kunark 3k was worth more to me than the neck. Now that I look back on it I wish I would have kept it for nostalga purposes .

Just a few of the most expensive things i've found on a vendor.

- Robe of Ancient Earth
- 5-6 KEI's
- 2 Speed of Brood
- 1 BSS
- 4 Stonewood saps
- 2 Cobalt Bracers (when Velious was still active).
- 1 Destroy Summoned
- 1 Insanity

Needless to say they helped me build a bank account for tradeskilling, but now since last patch its only interesting first 2 days after a patch . And people have gotten smarter, real good finds(500+pp gains) have dwindled in last month to maybe 1 per week.

Now its down to some runes and words, drop of pure rain from time to time.

I just found two stormwatcher's stones on a vendor today. They make ceramic rod of storms, an item that adds up to 23% extra damage on cold-based DD spells. They still go for over 15k on my server, and as a 250 potter, I know just what to do with rare PoP pottery components.
