Hey all. This is my first post, so I thought I would make it about my favorite thing to do in EQ -- Mining Vendors =)
For fun, Please post here your BEST catch off a vendor.
Also -- If people don't mind, post what to watch for on vendors in order to sell for more in the bazaar, that way, we all have more pp to shove toward this ridiculously addictive stuff

Thanks guys! Love to hear from ppl as far as what they got, and what to look for.. maybe what are the best npc vendors to check too.. I heard there is some " super silk chick " ... hehe.

Over 400 Champion arrows in Felwithe for 1 gold and a bit each. Needless to say I was stoked.

I still have some left on my SK too. *grin*
(YES my SK uses a bow and arrow! Longer range than spell casting so nya!)

So far it's been 2 highly polished gems. First one I made into an earring for my husband, the second one I sold for 35k *happy dance*

I have no list of what to look for. I have my bazaar mule up on a second computer so if I see something interesting, I look up price, then decide if I want to buy. Though there are certain things that are just always bought, like spider(ling) silks, and quality pelts. And I'm rather obsessive about vendor diving. I go EVERYWHERE that I can. Generally set aside 6 or 7 hours the day after a patch. Then afterwards it's just spot checks in PoK and PoT, whereever there was an empty vendor before hehe.

When I was skilling up on Misty Thicket Picnics I ran across a vendor that had something like 4 stacks of woven mandrake for a few gold each. I thought I would just up and die right there.

Vendor mining is one of my favorite past-times too. I vendor mine a lot in Thurg, PoK, EC, Halas, oh the list just goes on and on.

I vendor mine a lot, but mostly for stuff that I need in tradeskilling. I vendor mined a drop of pure rain a couple of weeks ago. I sold it in the Bazaar for 2k.

I pulled 9 stacks of crystalline silk off a vendor once. It fueled my finally mastering tailoring quite well.

Over six stacks of low quality rockhopper in Sanctus Seru on a single merchant. Several hundred shadeling silk combines later, the leather padding market was quite kind to me.

I also found my Tolan's Helm on a merchant. While those can be found in the bazaar at about the same price, it's still fun to think of it as something I got at a garage sale.

I typically make 30k each patch. I must point out, however, that one must have a very good grasp of tradeskills to be able to recognize true value.


In my magelo below, the only thing I've looted is the belt. I found the face slot on a vendor. The rest has been paid for with profit from vendor mining.

My first attempt at vendor mining (when the visible inventory window was much smaller) was actually one of my most successful: over 32 stacks of spiderling silk. Wish I could have sold them at the current Bazaar prices.

I found a couple HQ bear pelts off a vendor in MT one time. They were around 5 gold to just under a plat each. Can't remember exactly how much now, its been so long.

Hmmm lets see allmost 3 stacks of blessed dust of tunare for a few gold each. 55 worked silver chains for just over 5 gold each. Various words and runes for a few gold or plat each.

I just found a gold tipped boar horn for 9.5pp on a vendor after the Aug. 6th patch.
