The arrowheads trivial at a pointlessly high level. It needs to be lowered ASAP.

Tunare blessed arrowheads trivial below 96.

1. Expect people to run thier smithing to 188 using this method, bypassing the timesink that SOE is very happy on forcing down our throats.
2. Expect the cost of Plains Pebbles to skyrocket, shafting other tradeskillers who need them for other items.

Oh, sure, now that I have used plate armor to 188, they would go and put in an easy path.

I was trudging along in the mid-220s trying to farm more stuff for condensed acrylia arrows when this patch came along. After about 3 to 4 hours work in SFG, I made it to 250 (and made the big 1750).

I found the steel guardian arrows to be a godsend for skill ups. The cost per combine attempt is right around 35 pp (not including whatever you can sell the arrows for). Not nearly as expensive as the bows, and so much faster than the condensed acrylia. You have EVERYTHING you need right there in SFG.

Skill ups were as streaky as ever sometimes I'd get 3 per stack, sometimes 1 per 3 stacks. Overall, it was the same rate I'd been seeing with condensed acrylia. Sure, the latter may be cheaper if you do all the farming, but the time.....*shudders*

Blessed Steel Arrowheads

To confirm, the trivial level on Blessed Steel Arrowheads is less than or equal to 188. I received a trivial message on my first successful attempt at that level. In addition, they DO require the mark of karana. I couldn't make the combine without one.

OK set the Trivial for the Blessed Steel Arrowheads at 188. And put a Note in the Mark of Karana needed.

I would appreciate a confirmation of that fact. It contradicts the previously identified recipe.

Karana Bows

I have successfully made two of the new Karana bows.

I made the Blessed Gale Compound Bow with a fletching skill of 163 and got the "you cannot advance your skill" message.
Therefore the trivial for the Blessed Gale Compound bow is <=163

I made the Blessed Hurricane Compound Bow with a fletching skill of 202 and did not get the "you cannot advance your skill" message.
Therefore the trivial for the Blessed Hurricane Compound bow is >202.

In order to make the Hurricane bow I had to do the subcombine to make the Stable Planar Beam. I made this item with a fletching skill of 202 and did get the "you cannot advance you skill" message.
Therefore the trivial for the Stable Planar Beam is <=202

I hope this helps narrow down some of the new Karana Bow trivials.

This is to confirm that in order to make the Blessed Steel Arrowheads you need the Mark of Karana. Furthermore the Mark of Karana is the only thing returned on a successful combine. Nothing is returned on a failure. The file is consumed on a success or failure.

The consumption of the File... and of the Mark on Failure seems a bug to me.... but I have update the recipe as such.

Agreed, the consumption of the file and the Mark on Failure probably is a bug as they are not consumed when making the Steel arrowheads. These two recipes differ only in that the Blessed Steel Arrowhead requires a plains pebble shard and the Steel Arrowheads do not. Both recipes trivial at the same level of 188 as well.

For now making the Blessed Steel Arrowheads is probably not worth the trouble. The Blessed version of the three 'new karana' arrows differ from the Steel version only in that they add 1 to the cold damage and 20 to the range but the blessed version is usable by Karana worshipers only, the steel version is usable by everyone. The Blessed version is fine for making one for your Endless Quiver capable Karana Ranger but not worth it to try to use or sell otherwise.

The File/Mark of Karana being consumed in the combine is a Bug. This is potentially bad Data.

Why you ask?

A "Bug" in programming speak is a an operation that provides an unexpected result.

"Bad Data" is simply a data value that is incorrect.

The fact that the Tunare items are not flagged for Rogues, and that the Karana items are flagged for Rogues shows an inconsistent application to the items. This does not mean that the Tunare items are wrong. It could mean that the Karana items are wrong.

Or it may be that Sony -intended- it to be set the way it is.

But I will agree it looks odd when you compare them. But be careful when you report these... Sony might decide no Rogues should be able to use them, and take it away from the Karana items.

I haven't been making the blessed ones , yet. The Steel Guardian arrows are usable by paladins, warriors, rangers and rogues, but, the Mithril Champion arrows I have seen are usable by warriors, paladins, rangers and SHADOWKNIGHTS...
There are four classes only that can use each type of unblessed cultural arrow. Rogues can't use the mithril arrows; Shadowknights can't use the Guardian(Karana fletching) arrows.
