BTW, somebody asked about cost - cost is on average 1600KP per attempt, assuming no fails and assuming you forage the tufts. BDs sell for about 400KP on AB. So that's not a bad markup
Your server is insane.
1600 K? Jeeez, that's 1,600,000 plat.
And blue diamonds sell for 400k? Jeeez.
Lucky povar isn't that bad, YET.

Here's one for the books. At 193 skill (plus geerlok) I ran 50% success on the haversacks. Since I got 203 skill (added 10 points) I run 80-90% (over 20 combines so it cant be a fluke). Is it just me or does the 10 extra points seem to have a HUGE impact when in reality it shouldnt considering its still WELL below the 250 trivial. Im not complaining but had I known earlier I woul dhave dumped the plat into solstice robes a LOT sooner!
This information is really helpful, byelka. Thanks for posting it. I really want to start making these for my guildies, and this helps me get a handle on when best to start.
I have one question for you though. Are you doing your own smithing, and if so, what level is your skill and what's your failure rate on that subcombine. I'm the highest halfling smith in my guild at 175, and I wonder whether I'm going to need to get my smithing up as well.

I pushed my smithing up to 172 just in case, but even when I was in my 160's, I succeeded at the threads so often, I was starting to think they were no-fail. (I've made about 5 or 6 haversacks and 2-3 smaller bags, so not a big sample, but I think I've only failed one so far.)
Since getting to 162 is so much easier for us than other races, I would at least recommend that much.
What is an ideal smithing skill to be working on the infused platinum threads? Trivial is listed at 140~ and I'm only 150 atm. How far do i need to skill up so that I'm not punching myself in the throat for burning blue diamonds and plat threads?
