Yeah, this is nice as an alternate skillup route, but if you're just talking cash, I could forage enough planar oak to make up the money involved. 36 tufts (assuming no failures) is a LOT of foraging.

After keeping tabs on this thread for the past week or so, I'm gathering components to have a couple of attempts at the Haversack, I combine at 255 wis, 195 tailoring + 5% Geerlok. I will post my results after the weekend! =)
Wish me luck!Hippo Potamus

The thing that pisses me off the most is not being able to forage my own Tufts. I have to depend on the bazaar mules and their insane pricing ideas. Or the couple of hardcore forages ive run into to that shoot me messages every couple months. ( "I got 200 tufts for you" ) God i love seeing that. But anyway back to topic.
What do Tufts sell for? I personally refuse to pay more than 20plat per. and let the fools with lists of 50-100 per sit and rot.

I pay 20pp/tuft on Lanys, which nets a small amount; I get the impression there are others around who'll pay more. At my success rate (11/20 so far) paying more makes no sense, though.[53 Vicar] Frabbens Donutbringer (Halfling) <Emerald Alliance>, Lanys T'Vyl

Tufts on dro are rarely seen for under 30pp, up to 100pp..... hell, I can remember when they were all priced at 150pp+ Now that's just stupid.
95% of them are priced at 50pp now.
I am willing to pay 25pp-30pp ONLY when I can get them in bulk. Even then, I'm not so happy about it. Last night I was attempting to buy them, /auc wtb with my 500pp price per stack. Had a jacknut shout that they sell for 50pp each ~ they might, but not to me.
Now, if my tailoring was in the mid 200s (and not 192), I'd probably buy them at 50pp each because I'd expect a better success rate. But, I'm still investing pp into skillups, and that's more important to me atm.Sunburnt Dmize - 80 Druid - D-Ro

Prices on Tufts
On Xev, I often see Tufts going for over 100pp if I see any at all. While I haven't been actively looking for them for very long (a few weeks) I have only ever seen 3 folks selling them at any one time, and none have ever had more than 5-10. I'm sure I'm missing some data, but if that's the general rule on a given server, it probably makes more sense to level a WE ranger/druid to 30 or so just to forage up tufts. If you can powerlevel or twink, it wouldn't take long to get there and it would save literally thousands of pp over the course of 10-15 combines.
Personally, I usually 2-box and with my Druids (foraging 200, 160 respectively) and I can typically get a stack in an hour, give or take my RNG luck.

Any new info
I was wondering if anyone had any new info to add to this thread.
From what I have read on triv rates (in general over all trade skills)
is that at lower levels to triv something 95% success rate you need to be higher then the actual triv exp real triv 20 95% triv 30 (made up)
from someones research this gap narrows and crosses at 175 so a real triv and 95% triv at 175 are both 175. And then it goes up so a 95% triv of say 240 is really 215 (made up number)
From the bit of data posted here is seems the haversack ~95% triv is 220
210+geerlok = 220.
Anyone else have any succes failure rates at such and such tailoring skill to post for the haversacks?
I am at 187 at the moment and I am setting up a skill up run of 200  solstice robes Hoping to reach 200+ a little from what I have seen I think I should be ~3/4 on haversacks at 200+ geerlok. But any additional info would be super so post it if you got it

Re: Any new info
If you hit 200+ then the RNG has blessed you and I recommend you get down on your hands and knees and grovel before the RNG in grattitude.Originally posted by byelkaI am at 187 at the moment and I am setting up a skill up run of 200  solstice robes Hoping to reach 200+ a little from what I have seen I think I should be ~3/4 on haversacks at 200+ geerlok. Did about 245 combines at 190, got 7 skillups.... I was hoping for 10.

My courage was bolstered by this thread and circumstances.
I'm a level 205 tailor and found a high quality lion skin in the Bazaar last night. I made a fleeting quiver and it easily sold within 15 minutes for 3k. Praying that the RNG gods were with me, I plowed that profit into the gems and threads needed for Haversack and withdrew some of my precious dire wolf tufts from the bank. Woot, I made the Hsack, and it sold for 6k within a day.
Now, if I can just find another high quality lion skin!

Getting to 210
I hate to do it but I am gonna sell my newly aquired white dragon scale cloak to get lots of PP to get me to 210 tailoring or so and enough attempts at 10 haversacks.
I am gonna blow so much PP on Blue Diamonds its not gonna even be funny eeeep

For the people that are making Haversacks, how much are you actually spending each time you make one? Not including failures.
The highest price I am seeing someone (in this thread) selling the haversack for is around 6K and I think that is low considering what is involved. BD's go for 500-700pp on Xev and if you were to buy half of the tufts (they go for around 50pp here) that is 1900pp right there. I am not sure how much platinum thread goes for, but that is probably at least 100pp for each thread. I am looking around the ballpark of 3700 or a little higher depending on how much the platinum threads are. And this does not include any failures.
And I know you can forage and farm the supplies, but then you are looking at time replacing the money. Which should be worked in the price of it. I also am aware that tinker bags go for only 5200pp, but if you want to make a decent profit, is 6000pp enough involved with the money/time spent in making the haversacks?

The main problem, Hobbun, is that 6k is all people are willing to pay for it seeing as they can get Tink, Vox or Naggy bag for around the same price....at least on Bristlebane anyways.
As for cost, I buy Tufts for 25pp each (sometimes lower) and Blue Diamonds for 350pp each (also sometimes lower).Hippo Potamus

Havent gotten my halfling's tailoring high enough yet to try them myself, but on Prexus, BD's are vendor fodder, I can, over a week, get 2 stacks off vendors just by watching them. Tufts I dont see in bazaar much, but I seem to get nothing bt those when I'm in Kael on the bard. I currently have several monks farming silks and making Heady Kiolas and dyes for me. In return, after my tailoring is above 200, they get some free bags (read 6 each).

Yay Haversacks
I got up to 187 in tailoring using the LoY ribbons and I got 300 solstice robe attempts together and only got 5 skill ups eeep now I am 192
so with a skill of 192 and a sewing geerlok I went 8/10 on haversacks!
sold em at 6KP each in under 20 min
And as for the question on cost to make I would estimate with failures about 2-2.5KP
I farm all my own tufts I try to buy em at 5-10PP each but putting /ooc all over velious score me very few tufts. And no I will not pay more for em sorry I will forage my own. One crazy man has em up for 200PP each in the bazaar  silly people! and as far as BD go 350-450PP can buy you tons over a week on my server.
Oh and for those on the seventh hammer I am selling Haversacks and buying tufts!
