Aid Grimel says 'When we adventure in the Planes there is only one meal that keeps us in top fighting shape. It is called a Bristlebane's Party Platter. Unfortunately the platter is awkward and not easy to adventure with so you need to place them in this satchel. I know not how to make the Platter, a rather nice female Halfling cleric always used to deliver them to us but I heard she was crushed by a Regrua while hunting for a rare component in the Plane of Water. Brell bless her soul! Combine three of the platters and the signet inside the satchel.'

Through research done by the council they have discovered something called a Hope Stone that exists in the Elemental Planes. Bring me one of these stones and the signet of Grimel. Fear not I shall reward you well.'

Go to the Elemental Planes and loot a Hope Stone. NOTE: This can NOT be MQed, it has been tried and each person will be handed back the item given.

Let me add to my post above that:

I would have been very happy if the only "effect" listed on the earring actually had something to do with tradeskills. I like doing tradeskills (was 150+ in all tradeskills BEFORE PoP) and doing quests. I saw this quest as the ultimate of both. I would have done this quest even if the earring had zero stats and the only effect actually had something to do with tradeskills.

The changes to the game's code has shown us we can have 305/355+ stat levels and 1000+ hit points and mana items. There is no reason they couldn't do the same for tradeskills by allowing for modified tradeskills to go past the 252 mark. So, to me, an effect something like "Uber Tradeskill modifier" that allowed for all seven modified skill levels past 252 would have been more appropriate for this earring. This would have been the ultimate trophy. I think the majority of people that would actually do this quest anyway are the true tradeskillers and not just the people looking for a guarenteed high hit point/mana item.

Kron, I did the party platter combines in a collapsible spit and it is definately not trivial at 250 skill. Next patch the party platter will be +75 hp/mana.

Well that is EXTREMELY lame that hybrids get sacked with the Signet of the Arcane. I could'nt be more dissapointed with the end result . . All that work and I get an earring with 5 more hps than the best Vex Thal earring, and worse effects. I hate to keep harping on the same point, but this things not even as good for an elemental plane enabled hybrid as the Secret of the Planes manual, and it was 10 times harder to get. It should be 150 hps, aura of daring or better, and some kind of focus effect better than those that are put on much easier to obtain items.

So lame.

I did up to the baking part while Gimmel accepted modified skill amounts, so a number of my skilled are in the 210-220 range, and I multi-quested the smithing part (much hate for smithing) though my smithing is 194, so if I had a 15% hammer I would have been able to get the quest at the time, when I talk to the counciller he says 'You don't have the skills to have this'

How exactly did you MQ the smithing part? I didn't think they left any loopholes in for anyone to MQ any part of the quest.

Now those are the raid type earring that anyone flagged for this quest probably has SOME chance of obtaining since they're elementally flagged. The people estimates on those are what my guild typically does that mob with so I know it's capable to be done with that many people. Feel free to compare and contrast the 2 earrings to that if you wish. I included the 2 Signets from the quest below as well for comparison.

How exactly did you MQ the smithing part? I didn't think they left any loopholes in for anyone to MQ any part of the quest.

I had a friend who had enough skill in both smithing and brewing, while I had only brewing. He did the smithing part _and_ the brewing part, and I triggered the brewing part also. Grimel asks you to hand in the portable drink and your brew barrel. Friend handed in drink, I handed in barrel, voila.

I'm skilling up smithing now to see when I get a different responce from the councilman

Obviously for casters there needs to be a universal effect or they will have to make a priest earring, a dot caster earring, and a DMG earring.......I can think of one freaking item in POP that has RANGE FOCUS on it for int casters, and few for priests.....25% range focus item for all casters on caster version please, and get rid of the FT because it's an insult.

I'd be more in favor of a mana pres(better then Pres of Xeg) or spell haste on all spells but distance foci would work even though I already have Druzzil's Distance hehe.

Mana Preservation is 10% where Preservation of Xegony is 15%.

Well, i still think that most (if not all) int casters who did this quest already have max FT, and most probably Pres. of Xegony. The effects are probably really good for hybrids, and not redundant.

Needless to say, there should be a pure caster earring just like the pure melee earring.

I know that dev's read this board for feedback, to prove that both effects on Signet of the arcane are redundant for int casters (and most probably wis casters) maybe we can start a poll ;p
