I would guess that the phase spiders drop the silk needed for this part....

I found out a way to see if a book is for the quest. If you turn in one of the book to the assistant out of order you will get a red message saying you should be careful in the future, if you turn in an item that is NOT required in the quest, he will give you the standard I have no use of this item message. Confirmed Sangurine Tome is used in the quest in this way.

*EDIT* Also tried giving the assistant my Arch Mages Robe, and he gave me regular hand back text, so if the velious robe is used in this quest it isant handed into the assistant

Aramin the Spider Guardian looks very ugly.

Firebone Notebook looks like our winner! It has stats, and is droppable.

Any leads on the shadewood clips? Looks like you need brewing and fletching for sure.

Well, it would suck if it's the Aramin drop, heh. All the other drops are 1-groupable, except for the one from Velks.

Anyway, here's the info on the Grape quest:

The Halfling you need is called "epicurean halfling". You can find him outside the wall in Misty Thicket, just walk through the gate when coming from Rivervale and turn right. He is standing at loc 885, 85.

          You say, 'Hail, epicurean halfling'

epicurean halfling says ''Hmmm. . . What? Oh sorry, I was snoozing. I was up throughout last night harvesting my [grapes] by the light of the moon.''

You say, 'What about your grapes?'

epicurean halfling says ''Why, my magic moon-harvested grapes, of course. I will give you some to sample if you would [help] me.''

You say, 'What help do you need?'

epicurean halfling says ''The specially-prepared soil that grows the vines for my grapes is becoming muddy again. I need more of the magical sand from the deserts of Ro to mix with my soil. Bring me that and I will give you some grapes.''

At this point I handed him the Sands of Ro I found stashed away on an alt somewhere.

epicurean halfling says ''Thank you so much. Here are the grapes I promised you. They may not look like much, but master brewers tell me they are required for many magical wines, including some sought by the most powerful magic-workers.''

He gave me this in return:

          Moon-Harvested Grapes
          NO DROP
          WT: 0.4 Size: TINY
          Class: ALL
          Race: ALL

          Not stackable, as reported above.

I don't have the Tome of Miragul yet, otherwise I could have started to do some brewing trials ...

Edit: The above text is only given during the daytime. If it's night and you hail him, he will say the following:

epicurean halfling says ''Sorry, but I do not have time to talk right now as I my grapes are ready and I must harvest them by the light of the moon.''

You can still hand him the Sands, though, and still get the Grapes.

nother thread on phase spider silk making a swatch and no tradeskill tag. the immaterial made me connect them. will edit with link. apparently triv above 187 so far.

              link

please make each end step droppable. if its all no drop it will be bad for tradeskillers again. ag was bad. potc was ok cause it was easier to buy the stuff than learn the skill.

Taedirk, have you tried going back to the Oracle and see if he will replace your sugar? This was possible in several Vah Shir quests when you used up the quest component.

I can't wait to get to work on this quest, but I am stuck atm on some other projects.

Was NOT trivial at 202 brewing, used geerlok.

Tried going back to Oracle and Assistant and they just gave me blank looks when I swore at them for 10 minutes straight for not giving me back my sugar.

THought you all might like to read this. It's an excerpt from the EQ RPG GMG.

The Oracle was dressed differently than Arrialla had seen him. Always before he had worn the same robe as she, a Robe of the Oracle, a garment he created for those he favored. That robe was light blue silk, bordered with elaborate sigils, and while his new robe was of the same decoration, it was cobalt in color, far darker than hers.

"I am glad you admire the robe, young one," the Oracle said by way of greeting as Arrialla sat and sipped her brandy. The Oracle turned from his open book--which closed automatically when his eyes averted--and continued, "One like it, a Grand Robe of the Oracle, a new creation of mine, can be yours after you bring me the sixth book I seek."

Arrialla demurred, "Thank you, Oracle, but it's not the robe I desire, however fine yours seems. No, I desire a fifth lesson on the creation of a phylactery in return for this, the Sanguine Tome. And I wish nothing more than the purported final lesson once I return the sixth book. I need not fill your time. I require only the title of the final book."

"My dear, you are so hasty," said the Oracle. "The robe and all the secrets of the phylactery will be yours when you visit me again after this."

Accepting the Sanguine Tome, the Oracle purred, "Thank you for this. I see this copy came from the heart of the Accursed Temple of Cazic Thule in the southern jungle. It is most precious." he hefted it in his hand for a second and smiled fondly, then said, in a decidedly firmer voice, "Now, then, the fifth lesson?"

Arrialla delicately sipped the remaining beverage and shook her head. "Please, first tell me the final book you seek, then to the phylactery."

The Oracle sat silently for a moment. A long moment. Then he looked piercingly into Arrialla's eyes, and, when next he spoke, his words range with a terrible challenge.

"I require the Spellbook of Velketor the Sorceror."
                      Emphasis mine.

Fuuun. Reason why to complete the 6 books, now that I've found that I don't have the tailoring to even attempt to combine the silk from phase spiders (Too inexperienced @ 155 +5%)

                            All six books confirmed then

                            1) Tome of Mirugal
                            2) History of the Di`Zok
                            3) Journal of Aasomethingorother
                            4) Firebone Notebook
                            5) Sangurine Tome
                            6) Velkedors Spellbook

                            Quite an expensive list....

Stone silk does indeed drop from the stone spider in Nagafen's Lair. I was only able to get one before I had to camp, though. so no idea on a trivial.

I've been going through the Magelo database regarding latest entries and found the confirmed quest items all to be in a certain item ID range, with several unconfirmed among them (so I think we can safely say those will be used in this quest).

                                55274: Note to the Oracle
                                55276: Moon-harvested Grapes
                                55277: Stone Silk
                                55282: Phase Spider Thread
                                55289: Spiritual Anchor
                                55292: Precious Garnet
                                55295: Journal of Aaltaltaal
                                55303: Phase Spider Silk

55273 is an item unrelated to this quest so I think it starts with the Note to the Oracle. After the Phase Spider Silk, I scanned up to 55330 but didn't find any items. All the missing ID numbers in the above list turned up empty for now.

My guess is that the Precious Garnet will be used in a Jewelcrafting combine.

                                Step 1: Brewing
                                Step 2: Tailoring
                                Step 3: Fletching
                                Step 4: ???
                                Step 5: ???
                                Step 6: ???
