Lawena: anyone ever figure out her favorite drink?

So take the fact of having a dirty mind as proof that you are world-savvy; it's not a flaw, it's an asset, if nothing else, it's a defense - Sanna
I tried various combinations of the following components:
Egg Nog,
Egg Nog XXX,
Snake Egg,
Spices,
Vodka,
Coldain Heater,
Coldain Velium Temper (hey, it's blue!),
Gnomish Spirits,
Ice of Velious,
Cinnamond Sticks *shrug*
(each with a bottle,... i know i know... but i got dizzy thinking about trying a cask and a shotglass for each one, too... i will just go on the hunch that it uses a bottle) :P
Nothing.
What kept annoying me was his reference to a clue in a name. Which name? Of course the NPC's name anagrams into "new ale", but how helpful would that be really? Then I noticed that he says,
"A New ale would be the clue"
This makes me think, although a bit skeptically, that the clue could be to take "A New ale" as "An Ew ale", as in an ale made with Tae Ew ingredients (most likely blood). I realize this seems a bit much, but just thought I would throw that out there. (An expensive drink, to say the least.)
I have been pondering about the secret basement he has been talking about.
There is a place in SH where there is an alchemist merchant (who, incidentally also has a row of mugs and has blue beverages for sale) that is on a ledge, over by the bazaar zone line. When I looked at the ledge, there seemed to be a door of some kind in it, but I have not yet been able to open it.
...
Then I got to thinking about one of the other major clues:
"Perhaps a mug on a shelf a clue?
"Near the lass it may be.
"But it's not far from that hall..."
Tried clicking on all the mugs on the shelf in the bar in Shadowhaven. Nothing. I thought maybe there was a ground spawn (well, shelf spawn) container to be used in the combine. Nothing. Then it occured to me that perhaps the Ale in the recipie was substituted for some other drink. Something that would be sold near Lewana. Possibly something with a graphic that looked like a mug of ale.
...
I did the same thing last night. I ran all around Shadowhaven looking for shelves behind bars and clicking on any mug I could find. Nothing. And I think I hit every room in SH.
Is there an NPC around there (particularly on the upper floor) who gives you a drink if you chat with them, or offers a quest that gives a drink as a reward?
Is there an NPC in SH who mentions bars or drinks at all in their text? (Not Lawena specifically. Maybe something as innocuous as "Oh, I'm tired. I need a drink." in the middle of their conversation.)

There are several NPC's that mention drinks, drinking, etc., in their hail text, but I haven't come across any that seem of any import. For instance, as you exit the bazaar and look straight ahead, there is a bar. In the room off of it, nearest the bazaar, there is an NPC (gnome, I believe) resting quite comfortably on a bed. Hailing him, you are met with an inquiry as to the whereabouts of his ale. (This is just one example.)
I don't think the basement comment should be taken as part of the clue, but as ambient filler for the sake of colorful rp. Also, I believe the third stanza to be merely a rendition of our attempts, questions, and frustrations with this quest, and not containing any clue in itself. (Is there a spiced ale we haven't seen? Is this Brodder's revenge? Is this elf [the NPC] just having fun with us?
This leads into a very peculiar couplet beginning the fourth stanza. One would be hard-pressed to think he would reintroduce a red herring (like the mug) in such a fashion, ESPECIALLY when followed by the qualifying "Near the lass it may be...". In other words, I take it to be a genuine clue, although, to be quite honest, I have no idea what it could refer to. There aren't many mug items in the game. There is the mug of sea foam, of course. One might be tempted to write it off, as its foaminess seems to contradict the lack of fizz this drink allegedly has. The clause "on a shelf" begs to be interpreted as either a spawn in the game (which I personally think unlikely, given the efforts made to find such mugs) or as an item offered for trade ("on shelf") in SH. Unfortunately, SH has no shortage of beverages for sale.
The catnip tea reference is just weird. I would assume it to be a reference to the Vah Shir brewing quests (none of which use eggs, that I remember), and the following line leads me to believe it a denial that this is the avenue we should take.
"It's not far from that hall" means that some aspect of the solution is quite close to the trading hall in SH, and quite possibly within SH itself. (It indeed could reference the "clue in a name" mentioned only two lines before.)
The next stanza has the obvious clues: no jumjum, no nut oils, but vodka, eggs, and spices. The way eggs and spices are grouped makes me feel Egg Nog (or Egg Nog XXX) to be a constituent of the new ale. I will assume the capitalized 'O' in "Your" to be a typo. However, that line is strangely formulated, revenge isn't cured. Revenge is effected, exacted,... taken. However, if finishing this quest is taken to be our revenge,... if this drink is our revenge, then maybe he is saying that *it* is cured. Of course, this makes one think of curing agents, but if we are going to be that strict in our reading, it is the fabric which is cured, not the curing agent, and so this interpretation doesn't make sense, and we are left having to assume that it really is just a strangely put sentence. (Although, I should at least mention that Dragon Egg Oil, Aviak Egg Oil, and Drake Egg Oil are all curing agents using eggs, but not spices to be found.)
As you can see, I have skipped some of the message. Quite simply, I know not what to make of certain statements. "Gnomish antifreeze" when posited quizically aquizzicallyld be taken as Firewater. I didn't get to try any last night, as my tinker friend was nowhere to be found.
The first stanza, I believe, is just a confirmation that it indeed is a new ale. (Unless someone wants to try out my Ew suggestion above.) :P Cold N Blue? Sorry, no clue. I thought it could be a reference to coldain velium temper, but this is a stab in the dark. It could be a description of key ingredients, possibly Ice of Velious or something of that nature. *shrug*
I realize this post doesn't have a lot of positive statements, but I hoped to give arguments against pursuing certain avenues that might lead us too far astray.
Just realized, 'clue in a name', might mean the word clue, or some synonym thereof, in someone's name. Right next to the bar, toward the bazaar, is good ol' Tiplo the Gardener, who tells you to let him know if you need anything from his garden. "Tip" means "clue", and he isn't known to be part of any other quest, so it at least seems possible some info could be gotten from him. Alas, I have yet to make him talk,... but we have ways of making people talk.
Totally random idea, but there's a quest in Iceclad Ocean (given out by a poor, freezing gnome who wants a drink to warm up - 'gnomish antifreeze' ?) which has a bottle of Captain Nalot's Triple Strength Rum as the penultimate reward.
Anyone tried to turn that in or know if the bottle is flagged as a tradeskill item?
Edit: Ignore this - I missed the Frostbite message first time I read this thread.

Probably no one has ever turned that in, since that quest is pretty hard and you need that rum to get the Rough Silver chain which was once a pretty dang good item ( I still wear mine)
That is a pretty good idea.. though. If this were the case, whatever Lawena gave you would certainly not be worth all the trouble.
Earlier, someone had taken the obvious route regarding "clue in a name" and looked up the elven lady's name. They claimed that "Lawena" gave very few results, one of which was about the kava plant. Ah, but her name is "Lewena" which is the name of the kava (or kava kava) stems, used in a traditional drink, yaqona. None of these words rings a bell with her (or Tiplo the Gardener-- he tells us to tell him if we need anything from his garden, though maybe this is a faction issue, as I am dubious to him), and so it seems like another dead end, as no known items (that I could find) deal with kava, kava kava, etc. However, I thought I would at least clarify that bit.
I'm thinking that the clue close by her refers to Wolfson and his drinks. If you hail him and ask about the drinks, he mentions various texts. He also mentions that the brewer (I forget his name) gets things from all over for his concoctions. Yet another point, Lewena just happens to be looking directly at this brewer dude.

I tried various combinations of Ale, Short Ale, Vodka, Snake Egg, Spices with a Shot glass in the hopes of finding something. Zilch.
Gonna see if I can find some aviak eggs to play with Egg Nog.
