Success rates for GM Cuirass/Greaves?

223 smithing +5% (234 modified), Smithing Mastery 3, Salvage 3, Str 450.

1 for 2 on GM bp
2 for 2 on GM legs

Went 0 for 5 on BP aug attempts tonight. Was doing combine for someone else and ate 4 of his scales. I felt to bad, I even offered to try with one of mine and lost it too.

425 STR, 300 modified smithing, BSM3 and Salvage 3. Didn't manage to salvage a single scale, but got water back 2x.

Smithing god must have been smiling on me. I have modified skill of 301, Mastery level 1 and Salvage level 2. I have so far made one of each BP, Legging, Chest Symbol and Leg Symbol, all success. So 4 for 4 so far.

On top of that, last night attempted 25 sickle combines and got 4 skill ups!!!!

It's been a quite a week so far.

Wow, maybe I just need to get a 15% hammer. I'm at 311 mod skill and am 56% for all GM armor and symbol attemps (14/25 total attempts). 2/9 on legs hurts the worst =)

The way I read it you have 287 + 15% = 330 skill (ah yep I see in the animated image).

At 297 skill I made 2 Master Leggings Augs, and got a skill-up on the second one!

Then I made a GM Moonglade Sleeves & Gauntlets, no failures.

Thanks for the thoughts and advise found here. I am 300 Tailoring and Blacksmithing (315 effective in both), I am going to wait until I have Mastery II AAs (minimum) in each, and Salvage III before trying the Grandmaster combines.

239 base (250 with Geerlok) smithing, BSM3 but no Salvage ... successfully made one combine for 3 grandmaster's rilsteel bars, and then made the grandmaster's daybreaker leggings. One of these days I'll remember to post the stats of the half elven GM leggings.
