Aid Grimel Quest

I'm no computer wiz or anything, but honestly, given all the things you can do in this game, how hard would it really be to program it so that you can do a trade in to get the version you want, and if you have one earring, youre not given the quest to get another. Have the quest giver do a check to see if you have one earring or something?

From a coding point of view, the "difficult" part of doing this is that it would require this quest to have its own flag to work properly. A simple inventory check will not work, as I would just get one earring, die, leave it on a corpse, and then get the 2nd earring.

IMO, they should just make one earring, with combined effects. Might require its own spell (to combine Flowing Thought and Vengence), but its not like they have problems adding those. If they're not going to increase the FT cap, then they might as well get rid of that part. However, as a caster, Preservation of Xegony is pretty lame, and extremely redundant. It would be nice if they'd give casters an effect that doesn't come from elemental armor. (maybe extended range would be nice?)

The thing about all/all rewards is balancing. Once you add mana on a single item, casters and hybrids get an EXTRA bonus from it, that melees can't use. Once you start combining melee and caster effects on an item, hybrids make out like bandits, because they benefit from all of them

Success info for Temepered Breastplate

I started the quest a second time. After having gone 1/1 making the "Tempered Breastplate" w/ 221+15%, I then went 1/4 making the same with 250+15%. I suppose I should be happy I didn't fail the decorating step (nightmare mephit blood is nonexistant on Drinal).

Had an incredible string of luck on my 2nd earing. Went through all combines on all 7 steps without failing. :shock: Wearing Signet of Might and Marked Runed Signet now!

1st Earing I went:
BS 1/1
Brew 1/1
JC 1/6
Pottery 1/1
Tailoring 1/2
Fletching 1/1
Baking - 4/6

2nd Earing I went:
BS 1/1
Brew 1/1
JC 1/1
Pottery 1/1
Tailoring 1/1
Fletching 1/1
Baking - had leftovers from 1st try.

****, you were very lucky finishing the tailoring steps 2 out of 3 tries. I am 0 for 4 (nearly destroyed earring after 4th failure lol) and getting saps is a huge pain because they are so rare. I read some people were having bad luck earlier in the thread. So is it common to have to do tailoring step 5 or more times, or is 2 to 3 times more the norm??

Second ear - 0/2, and failed the 120 points trivial saps+mana vial combine on third...grrrrrrr

1/1 on Tailoring step, had 242 int 252 wis 300 dex, 222 skill and geerlok.. highly reccomend you max those stats before combining.

Finally finished Tailoring step on 5th try and did fletching part on 1st try - both at max skill. Dunno if it actually helped, but I made sure to proc avatar this time before trying, lol.

It's been said before that only your skill level affect pass or fail.

However, I always do my combines at 305str / dex / agil / wis on the off chance that I will get a skill up from it. I have a Wis suit and then use my bot shaman to buff the rest with focus, wrulan & ferine avatar.
