Dartain the Lost

I went down there today, on Fennin Ro, and there was no Dartain down there. The Rocks that used to look like a door are no longer closed so a rogue is not needed anymore appretently.

I'm guessing he's a long spawn, triggered, or was takin' out of the game when the zone was revamped. If this is the case, welcome to a new broken quest.

Pretty sure he is taken out of the game, have been checking on that spawn point for a few days now, no show. Have checked out the zone to for the most part to, and not seen anything that could possibly drop Miraguls Tome. Guessing the people that have finished or gotten past the first book have had it from the past or were lucky enough to find it in bazaar. If someone HAS gotten this tome since the revamp, say something here, don't have to give any information beside that you have seen it drop.

I talked to a GM this evening about the Lost Dartain he spawn.

He checked the spawn and said that its ok. Dairtin ist just one of the "not so commons spawns". The GM wouldnt tell me details but when i asked him about the pre revamp spawns point he told me that the new spawn is also near the old one.

Double confirmation on that -- I actually petitioned about a ranger epic spawn as well as Dartain. They are working as intended, but considerably rarer than they used to be.

Now, to find that ghost.

Well, as a plus point, you might score an AC when your clearing South Ro for the other guy.

I guess ill be the first person to say it. That reward is dismal for the work it takes to get 6 books, skill up all you tradeskills, camp/win/create a Velious BP/Robe.

You can do 90 LDON missions in less time it takes you to get those 6 books, 3 gems, 6 200+ tradeskills and one Velious BP/Robe. With 90 missions you can get:

Frankly I am dissapointed in the reward. Just the AC alone makes me laugh out loud. FT4 is nice, but FT is about the easiest effect to max out nowadays.

There are several holes in that theory tho. So far the tradeskill side of things has not been compleated. So the current robe/bp are just from turning in the items/bp. Thats a pretty damm nice upgrade to the bps for some time farming items / buying items. The tradeskill part would seem to represent a seperate item altho at this point things look like compleating that might be a bit hard since there doesn't seem to be a way to get replacement peices if you fail a combine with the components the assistant gives you with out reaquiring the book.

Seconds you couldn't make the item you sugguested any longer. Unless you happened to already get the bp before the last patch all new LDoN armor is slot 1 slot 2 slot 3 not slot 2 slot 2 slot 3 anymore.

But I will only believe it when I see a player loot and get it after the revamp. Its hard to believe its "such a rare of a spawn" that he hasn't been seen on any of the live servers after the patch, its been what, four days now?

As far as a GM confirming its on the drop table? He probably doesn't have Tome of Miragul in mind, he probably saw "An ancient tome of lore" had it drop tonight off an old gargolye, tried it with the assistant and he would not except.

Ghoul of Takihs-Hiz is roaming in the Oasis. I hunted there today, initially only killing the Undead I found (through Sense Undead), but eventually just pulled about anything I could find and AoE'd them. I ended up killing the Spectres on the island in the oasis (7 in total) because they kept appearing on my Sense Undead.

When I hit SU next, the Ghoul appeared on my target, green indeed. I found him just northwest of the lake, heading northwards. A Ranger, who had spotted him, engaged and killed him before I could do so, but he let the loot to me ... which was just a Bronze Bastardsword and some coin. Apparently, he doesn't always drop the Anchor .

Edit: When I logged back after lunch, he was up again, twice at the same time. Both didn't drop the quest piece, however, so still hunting ...

He has less than 3500 HPs, but he regens FAST; he regenerated 6% HPs in 15 seconds when he was running away from me (running due to low health). He cannot be rooted (immune to changes in its movement speed).

I thought the tradeskill part & and the collect part are 2 different sides of the quest ?

Handing in the book yields the informations for the tradeskill part(reciepes etc).

Are the book hand ins still needed for the quest items or can the tradeskillpart be done without collecting the books ?

You still need to do the book hand ins because you get No Drop items on the hand ins that you need in the tradeskill combines. You can however do the 6 book turn ins and the seal + robe turn in for the new robe without doing the tradeskill portion.

Thursday's patch I went down to the Hole looking for Dartain. Jaelil was on track. We passed him on the way down to the undead area.

Based on those two statements I bet Dartain is still around, just not around enough.
